Louisa Tarn was going places in the world of Figure Skating until her coach The Spinner was killed by Mr Speed. He did not even bother with her. Distraught she quit and after overcoming her grief she vowed revenge on the Speedster of Spite. Using ice skates and a projector that enabled her to skate on any surface she began to plague the Careering Crook. To his immense disgust she then began using gems and jewels to also throw off is Accelerating Antics. This means someone is heling her, but who ? So first he bumps her off and then he takes down the gadgeteer.

The Gent
 
John Reynolds was the kind of guy whose life seemed to pass by. He also had a limp. He tried on a bowler and was transformed into a man reminiscent of John Steed in the Avengers TV series. He can fight with the stick which transformed into an umbrella. He became debonair and able to disable someone with hand to hand combat with or without the umbrella. He was also able to operate like a secret agent.

These are heroic versions of The Flash's Rogue's Gallery like Captain Cold, Heatwave, Mirror Master, Golden Glider, Gorilla Grodd, Rainbow Raider, The Trickster, Weather Wizard, Abra Kadabra and Golden Glider abd the like.

Winter Wail
 
This supervillain is used as an assassin by organised crime in Canada and the Northern United States as the cry is supposedly reminiscent of the Common Loon. They do not want to kill but the receiver they wear on their chest and attachments in the helmet force their compliance. It is not known whether this is a man or woman as they look fairly androgynous. But the cry can be deadly. Winter Wail has to look at the target to use the killing cry which is enforced by a signal to the receiver or to the helmet. Certainly if the receiver of the helmet can be impaired then the cry cannot be used. Although Winter Wail can still kill using martial arts or by using a quasi beak attack on the helmet. They are always accompanied by a pair of gangsters to make sure they do the job probably. They are usually called FREAK by those accompanying them which ended badly when they turned around and attacked them once control was broken.

From the mid 1980s to the mid 2000s one of the most renowned martial artists around was the Crimson Cobra.
Unlike the stereotypical evil martial arts master who would other target martial artists and their dojos, the Cobra would target other people who worked with the martial artists and go out of his way to break their bones. He was also a 'good' team player who did play well with others which meant that he often got employed. The Cobra had to quit due to slowing do and the fact that injuries would take longer to heal. The deal was easy for him to make as he did not want to be the old mentor to new students. He also enjoyed the task he was set as it stretched his capabilities, after all anything worthwhile must need work.
People believe the reappearance of the Cobra is due to a son, a clone or an extra-dimensional version of the original turning up to take his place.

The Golden Scorpion
(Because yellow might be considered offensive, there are coward jokes being made and Golden just sounds better)
No-one knows who he, or she, really is. No flesh is visible. They wear a cowl and cape sort of thing (think Marvel Secret Order). They wear gloves. The cowl has a big golden scorpion design like the Templar Knights had the red cross on their tabards. 
They are out to conquer the world !
So they seek new inventions to exploit to do this. They have a secret base. They have a masterplan. They have loyal troops (which is a surprise).
Could it be more than one person ? Certainly the voice has changed and sometimes it has an accent. Other times not. They understand different languages but tend to speak Mandarin Chinese and English.
They have various devices to defend themselves. And they sit on a throne. Dare you face them ?
 
(And no just because there are a lot of exclamation marks does not mean a specific Mad scientist is involved. Honest.)

Homicidal
This is a William Castle gimmick movie. If you could not bear to face the end of the film you could leave and go into a cowards corner. A young woman asks a local bellhop to marry her at a local Justice of the Peace. She ends up killing said JP and then fleeing. The woman is looking after a nurse who is now an invalid. This is at the behest of a young man who will inherit a fortune in a couple of days time. His sister will not inherit a penny. But the homicidal young woman used the sister's name to get married. It is not a bad film.
 
Fear No More
A young woman is travelling to do an errand for her employer when she stumbles across a dead body on a train and the killer robs her of an envelope. The police think she is the killer and try to arrest her but she escapes. She runs into a man on the road who tries to help her but is she telling the truth ? As she was in an insane asylum, maybe she is not. It makes sense when you  find out what is going on.
 
Bulldog Drummond's Peril
John Howard plays the retired Captain Drummond who is due to marry his fiance when one of their presents a synthetic diamond is stolen. But the Swiss policeman guarding their presents has been murdered so Bulldog sets off in pursuit. A diamond dealer and his associate are the culprits and they get another inventor to help them while Drummond knocks heads with John Barrymore's Colonel Nielson. This was Barrymore's final time playing the Colonel and he upstages everyone else effortlessly.
 
Bulldog Drummond in Africa
John Howard again plays Drummond and his plans to marry are again thwarted as Colonel Neilson is kidnapped and taken to Africa. The Captain and fiance plus sidekick and butler give chase as the fiance witnessed the kidnap. The chief goon to the bad guy is played by Anthony Quinn in one of his early roles.
 
The Saint season 4
This is the last of the black and white episodes and is the shortest of the four early seasons being only 9 episodes long. All sorts of different stories with Roger Moore going all over the world. And still having to contend with inspector Teale. Some of this is warm and familiar. But I have now seen them all.
 
Evil Brain from Outer Space
The Emerald Planet sends a champion to Earth to thwart the machinations of the evil brain of a being who was assassinated. He tries all sorts of things but Starman who is made of Steel and can thus bounce bullets is there to stop him. He fights mutants and the brain's minions. It is cheap but has a pulpy feel. Made originally in Japan and then formatted for the American market. It has a real charm.
 
The Atomic Rulers
Starman again here trying to stop nuclear war on earth as it will spread to the stars and poison other planets and life. Starman has to persuade children that he is a good guy and save one of their number when he is abducted. He also has to track down a nuclear device.. Again this has a real charm.
 
Battle Taxi
This is about a hotshot jet pilot who has been reassigned to helicopter air sea rescue duty in the Korean War. He pushes the envelope and thus his CO until his wounding in a pick up changes matters. Sterling Hayden plays the CO and Marshall Thompson is the pilot's co-pilot. It is not bad.
 
The Big Boodle
This is one of Errol Flynn's last films and is also a last glimpse of Cuba before the revolution succeeded. Flynn is a casino dealer who gets caught up in a counterfeiting plot. With both the police and the counterfeiters after him what can he do ? This was interesting as it showed a sanitised Cuba and worth a look.
 
Experiment in Terror
A woman bank teller is menaced and told to steal $100,000 from the bank where she works or she and her sister will suffer. She contacts the FBI and is attacked by the man but she continues to work with the FBI. Set in San Francisco this has Lee Remick as the teller, Stefanie Powers as the sister, Glenn Ford as the chief FBI agent and Ross Martin as the robber. The climax in a baseball ground is pretty good.
 
The Day the Earth Caught Fire
When America and Russia both explode nuclear bombs near the poles at exactly the same time bad things happen. Like climate change. The earth is set off its axis and could be heading towards the sun. The film follows the journalists as they uncover what is happening and then what ca  be done about it. The film ends with the paper printing two alternate headlines one showing success and one failure. Edward Judd played the journalist at the centre of the story and Michael Caine has an uncredited role as a police officer. It is well worth seeing.

This mutant is one of the deadliest in the world when they activate their powers so Kinematic only asks for them sparingly. When they turn on their power waves of deadly radiation flood out knocking people on unconscious at best and leaving them with deadly radiation poisoning, if not dead, at worst. They seem ambivalent about the whole Mutant rights thing but as thy can be targeted for death because of their power they can often help Kinematic.
 
Any resemblance to J Jonah Jameson is purely coincidental.

The Weatherman
 
Carl Weathers (and yes he is named after the actor) is an African American who found he could control meteorological conditions. The more he practiced the better he got but he had to use his powers in secret as there were those who would kill 'freaks' i.e. mutants and particularly non Caucasian mutants. Soo he learned to fly and that made his control over his powers more focused and better. He does not trust Kinematic that much but he seems to be the only one taking action.
 
Any resemblance to Cyclops is deliberate.
