  2. Re: U.N.T.I.L. Logo I made one up long ago right here.
  3. Re: Name That Band Hero! Easy one for me: Y&T. Used to own lots of their stuff (all the way back to a vinyl copy of their first album when they were still called YEsterday & Tomorrow)
  4. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? The worst song currently on popular radio: Dance Dance by Fallout Boy. Let's fix that... There! I'm listening to silence.
  5. Re: Whats the dif? Lizards. Is there anything they can't do?
  6. Re: The Ultimate Character Sheet I do think it's a tremendous help when the basics are pre-figured (So my Martial Grab would be xOCV/xDCV before levels). I've taken to doing this sort of pre-figuring in a couple other games where I'm a player. Often on a second "cheat sheet". Speeds things up slightly.
  7. Re: The Ultimate Character Sheet Pretty much what's on the regular sheet, only all squeezed onto one page and yet still totally readable. Yep, you got it: I want a magical character sheet. I thought about tatooing my favorite character onto my body, but that would make experience point expenditure really painful.

    Micro Heroes

  9. Re: Musings on Random Musings As good a place as any to underscore the evil that is keyes_bill: http://spamusement.com/index.php/comics/view/310 (In case you've never been to Spamusement, it's all cartoons inspired by the titles of spam e-mails)
  10. Re: Flying, mini's and combat Been there with the clear plastic boxes AND the pizza box thingies. Additionally there are places that produce clear plastic platforms with grids drawn on them for representing the next area up. I had a bunch of small plastic discs that were stackable. If you were on one disc you were in the air. 2 put you over 5 hexes up, 3 put you over 10, etc, though the miniature wouldn't be way up in the air, he'd only be about an inch total off the table.
  11. Re: Name That Band Hero! That's Joe Satriani. The Extremist is one of my favorite instrumental rock albums of all time.

    New Clix

Re: New Clix Oh, please. You'll do them way better! I look forward to seeing them. I think SoB will be the first thing I run when my group finally gets off their Vampire/D&D/Exalted kick and returns to heroic goodness, so I thought I'd jump in now. You can see in mine where I lost patience a bunch of times.
  13. Re: Name That Band Hero! Ronnie Montrose did a solo, all-instrumental CD (Speed of Sound, I think) that I think had Monolith, Windshear, and Sidewinder on it. Haven't heard that in easily 13 years. The others might be from there too, but I can't remember.

    New Clix

Re: New Clix Certainly there are bases in the right scale. In the pics above, I think there's only one clix that is remounted onto such a base (the one of Talisman). I'd have remounted the one of Lady Crow, but that would have made it too top heavy. If youre lucky you can find hexagonal ones, which fit right in with Hero System. I got a bag of the simple round bases from my local hobby store. Someone posted a site here (somewhere) that had textured bases that were pretty cool. I'm sure one of the modding experts will chime in when they wake up

    New Clix

Re: New Clix Well, not so much, I think. I'm pretty sure they want them as-is. But it doesn't matter to me since I mod them all for the purpose of use in my champions games. In this case, for the brilliant Shades of Black adventure

    New Clix

Re: New Clix Black Paladin was a resin miniature I'd had around a while. I thought about cutting off the shield, but it was too solidly glued and would have involved transplanting an arm onto the mini and then trying to make similar armor, which is beyond my skills. The mace was taken off of the hawkgirl mini I used for Lady Crow. Darkling, his horse, was a simple metal mini that came in a set wth riders; Turns out I didn't like the riders and have kept them for D&D pack horses, but decided to repaint this one appropriately.

    New Clix

Re: New Clix Talisman was Storm. I gave her a haircut and the rest is paint. The transparent top was attempted by painting all the detail and then white-washing the upper body. The skirt is green stuff that I spackled on. Looks like I took this before I made her lips more pronounced (she looks lipless here).

Re: New Clix Lady Crow was a mini of hawk girl. Most of it is the paint job. Numerous applications of green stuff and green putty couldn't yield a decent dress-like tunic, so I had to settle for a similar paint-job. The claws are transplanted from wolverine, and puttied in a vain attempt to make them look less external and more like they're part of her hands. I'd like to add bird-like toes, but don't have time right now.

    New Clix

Re: New Clix This is Gryphon. I made him by removing the tail from a plastic D&D miniature, removing the bow from his hand, filling in the neck area with "green stuff" and carving the texture with a pin before it set. Of the 5 minis, he's the one that looks better in person than in photo.

    New Clix

Hasn't been a new clix thread in a while, and I did a few. As always, these aren't nearly as polished as the ones made by the other guys on the forums. Still, I made 'em, so I'm sure as heck gonna show 'em to somebody. Here's the group shots of the villains from Shades of Black.
  22. Re: Name That Band Hero! No, I don't believe anyone has done Judas Priest yet. (And I actually made a character when I was a teen, named The Sentinel because of that song.)
  23. Re: Name That Band Hero! That's more Kiss. Kiss definitely has an ARMY Sabotage - Able to ruin machinery Brass Monkey - Simian Construct (and devil with the ladies) Sure Shot - Gunman who can ricochet off anything and hit the target InterGALactic - Spacefaring babe
  24. Re: Name That Band Hero! Yeah Yeah? (Any idea what the song Gold Lion is about?) Meanwhile, back at the forums... Strange Magic - Sorceror who creates spectral foes from your subconscious Showdown - Old West Gunman Mr. Blue Sky - Empath/weather controller (Weather changes with his mood) Evil Woman - Well...aren't they all? (Just kidding! So far as you know...) Livin' Thing - It's a terrible thing to lose
  25. Re: Who are the top 5 most powerful characters in your Campaign. Paragon. A test pilot with a high constitution, he became a hero for the allies in WWII, flying into combat with his spectacular and seemingly invincible suit of armor; he was known to shift the tide of many conflicts. However, his suit's demands were so severe that it was slowly killing him. When his daughter was born he retired rather than have her grow up fatherless. His daughter later exhibited wings and became known as Aces High. She is currently missing and feared dead. PRIMUS and all other lawful parties still seek her wereabouts. Woe unto he who has caused her harm, for the suit will return when the truth is found out. The Black Pope. Between 304 and 308ad supposedly there was no pope. It seems that This man, now nameless, was pope and sought to raise the power of the church by implanting spies in the governments of christandome. When Diocletian discovered this, he and conspirators had him excommunicated, all record of his reign has been removed from the records. When he died, he was burried in secrecy and his body entombed for hundreds of years in many places, moved often to avoid agents of the church who feared the dark magics that he had turned to in the name of God. Last slain by the New Sentinels, it is believed he somehow still walks the Earth. Uncle Slam. Superman-style brick; While he's very powerful, it's not on the level of Superman, but for my world he fills that niche. No one knows whether Colonel Samuels was first or whether the iconic "Uncle Sam" was first; Most suspect the character on recuiting posters was modeled after him. There are sightings of him as far back as WW I. Eldritch. Born in Arthurian England, he lost his wife to a group of demons called the Infinitum. A mage with little direction at that point, he sank into study of time travel with the intent of going back and saving her; But as ne might expect, he only f'd up the timeline. His innate time sense allows him to see the ramifications of his actions through time, so he can make proper decisions right now. With the many f-ups he's done in trying to recover his beloved, he's instead set himself to vengeance against the Infinitum. His skills are primarily time manipulation including such things as summoning other versions of himself from time to aid him if necessary. Like Marvel's Kang, there are many different versions of him showing up in the game. Everyone else is tied for 5th
