I'd try to fight crime while I investigate what happened, but ultimately i'd switch back if I can figure out how to. I'd be thrilled to know that I can make a universe though Anthem: I'm a hot chick? Not sure I'd even leave the house. I'm a home entertainment center! Okay, I wouldn't go that crazy. But I'd definitely spend the day trying to be the hero to perhaps gain some insight I hadn't gotten previously. Audra Blue: I'd jack into the net and see if it's everything I thought it was. This could be addictive, being able to create my own little reality at will.

Someone makes you up, who makes me up, and thus is the nature of reality?" He wouldn't know what to do with the information and I doubt it would impact the way he does things. He's the Uber-Pragmatist. But he'd want to hear more. Me: I'd immediately start writing stories about hot chicks who desire me.

Re: WWYCD: More Than Meets The Eye... Audra Blue has been dealing with machines all her life. If anyone can communicate with them on their level, it's her. She'd try and find out from them if they know what is taking place. She's try the diplomatic route with them.

Re: Blocking Big Objects YES, I'd allow the block. My alternative suggestion is this: VILLAIN A picks up a big section of the road and swings it. HERO B defaults to grab. His OCV would be against the villains OCV (because the villain is in the process of attacking). If HERO B had to abort to the grab (since in this case it would be a defensive action), I'd allow him to subract his STR Damage Class from the attack and only suffer the remainder. If HERO B were using a reserved action, I'd let him either try a contest of STR to pull the object away, do damage to it by crushing it, or maintain a full grip and contest the object every turn until someone takes it away from the other.

Re: WWYCD: Any last words? Uncle Slam is loaded with secrets due to his many years doing whatever the government asked. None of it would come out because he would never spill state secrets once they're marked classified. He's not a scientist, so he'd be on the sideline waiting to see if there's some way he can help. If ultimately he cannot help, with his last hours he'd get in contact with a member of the New Sentinels and give her something to deliver to a woman known as the "Bay Mermaid" (Not really a mermaid but she's seen in the bay and has caused the legend) who can carry it to coordinates at sea. The location is actually the sunken city of atlantis; And the message is for his long lost love, the queen there of. Anthem also is not a scientist and her detective skills are minor. She'd do what she can, but she might actually break down and go to the super prison with her last hours and visit her Father, but only if she was certain she wasn't going to make it. The purpose of the visit would be to forgive her father for the ways he wronged her. Then she'd go to church for a last confession. She'd take what little she had and give it to friends, then she'd say goodbye. Audra Blue while not a scientist, has tremendous research capabilities. If she couldn't find a similar outbreak somewhere in modern times or in history, she'd try and round up and coordinate scientists across the globe, keeping their research all linked together. When it became obvious there was no cure, she'd set about deducing who could perform an act of terrorism like this and then do everything she can to engineer their downfall financially, politically, socially, etc. Then she'd try to find a way to preserve everything she knows, perhaps by somehow uploading her knowledge into the base computer (Perhaps kicking off a storyline in which she is the haunting the internet to perform justice).

Re: WWYCD: A Bomb for Two Cities None of my characters are fast enough to hit both locations, so the NYC one winds up pretty much being irrelevant; That's gonna go off. Both Uncle Slam and Anthem would go after the local bomb. If it can be moved without triggering it, Uncle Slam would fly as high as he could with it and toward the ocean. (Then I'd have a subsequent adventure where mutated sea life starts moving on the city). Anthem, lacking the kind of movement powers or defusing capability, would end up having to take it underground. She'd use the network of tunnels beneath the city to carry it as deep as she could as fast as she could. I imagine this would result in some morlock-like people in the tunnels. Both characters stand a good chance of surviving it (both being high DEF characters).

Re: A Simpler WWYCD: The Lights Go Out Anthem would patrol as usual, looking for trouble. Audra Blue assuming that telecommunications lines are working, she'd begin a search online in all the proper places for hints of the cause of this problem, and dispatch a team as appropriate. (The base has generators independant of those affected.)

Re: General Hero Question..comepletly new to the system What sidekick lacks are optional rules, all the esoteric explanations of all the things you can do with those powers (beyond the obvious options), and I believe, a few powers. Martial Arts games tend to be less power oriented, more about skills and martial arts packages, so I think SK should work fine.

Re: 3rd-party systems: Convert or Emulate? When I was a teen, it was all about trying to make the numbers fit, to make things "interchangeable". That's so wrong. Emulate a system. Try and get across what they intended to do with the character, and even improve on it if appropriate.

Re: Brainstorm: The Black Paladin Recruits! I've reread Shads of Black recently, and made miniatures for the villains too. There's a pretty good assemblage in there with more diversity than you'd get from putting together a buch of sword swingers. You've got (SPOILER)........................Black Paladin, Chantal (a witch), Talisman, Lady Crow, Gryphon, Lesser Demons & Hellhounds (From the Hero System Bestiary).
