Turn Chewbacca into a Disney princess?
 
Disney's entire strategy is to control enough content that they can pull it from other distribution channels and force it onto their own.  It's the Star Trek Discovery/CBS All Access strategy writ large.  IIRC Netflix is already on notice that they're going to lose access to Disney properties.  If content creators all go vertical like this, mankind loses out because we will have to individually subscribe to each service if we want to be able to watch everything. 
 
It'll become especially relevant when Net Neutrality dies today because that will effectively turn the internet into a giant extension of the cable/streaming network, where Comcast and Verizon get a say in what you watch and what you pay for it.

Yeah, that movie had many, many problems, but Routh himself was fine.

I thought Routh did a good job, myself, with what he was given.  But he had very few lines, spent a lot of time gazing at Lois even using x-ray vision to stalk her, and was pretty well not the star of the film.  With a better script and director it could have been quite good.

The third Nolan film was atrocious, precisely because the main character resembled Batman in appearance only. His methods were about as un-Batman-like as you could imagine.

I confess I don't really see that. With the obvious exception of Wonder Woman, I feel like all the DCEU movies since MOS have very much been following Snyder's "vision". And the only executive meddling I've heard about seem to be the studio trying to tone down Snyder by splicing in jokes and such based on the reception to BvS & SS.
 
This right here. It's not my personal preference, but you could absolutely make a good grimdark superhero movie. But "tone" aside, the Snydermurderverse films have been incoherent messes on all sort of levels.
 
I think this is also a key point. People like a little bit of grimdark now and then, but it doesn't make for a good franchise that people want to return to over and over.

Over a decade ago, I worked for Circuit City. At one point, they licensed the song, "Just What I Needed" by the Cars for use in their advertising. Corporate sent out a special CD single with the song on it for the managers to play to "celebrate" acquiring this song. The store manager decided to put it into the 5 disc changer that we used for Christmas music as the only disc and set it for continuous play as the only song. About a day and a half later, while the store manager was at lunch out of the building, the disc suffered a mysterious accident. Somehow, the disc left the cd player, phased through a locked door, and ended up in the break room's microwave. It died in a pretty blue discharge of ionized aluminum, and then, the disc ended up shattered in the warehouse. A very loud cheer went up from the staff (and probably a few customers, as well) when the song finally stopped playing over the intercom.

62 million views in two days.   People wanna see this movie.  Of course, you're gonna get those comments...yet they still watched the trailer and wanted to say something.  Your second paragraph has merit, but is BY FAR in the minority in my opinion.   I love superheroes, I love these movies,  a few months in between superheroes is fine by me and apparently everyone else.

I like Legends & SHIELD. 

I think The Gifted is surprisingly good, given it is not really doing anything we haven't seen before. 
 
Not sure why exactly. Possibly a combination of the acting (which is not bad) and a coherent representation of the world. 

This. When I am in charge (it is inevitable I tell you) these high powered halogen style lights will be illegal. They just encourage faster driving while destroying the night vision of on-coming drivers.

I'd rather have a Chris Evans cameo in Daredevil. The story during the Millar Hell's Kitchen run where the Avengers drop in was really good.

As an alternative may I suggest The Assassination Bureau, or Running Delilah.
 
And Lexa Doig on Arrow as Talia was scary how close to Emma Peel as I've ever seen.

I believe the shadowrun thing is called Bright.

If you look at extant Trek rather than McQarrie's design, it looks like A Klingon D7 back (triangular and lowered nacelles)  and Fed Saucer. The music got decidedly drum based and Klingonish when that part of the ship came into view. I'm cool with that.
 
I just want to know what era/timeline it's going to be in. Visually it looks Pre-TNG. Maybe even pre-TOS.
 
I don't get that station, but I'm sure I;ll find them somewhere to watch.
