  1. Um, they made that car. It was called the Chevette. D
  2. Assuming a Champions Normal universe, and it's character norms (31+ is superhuman)... You've got 20PD/ED with 10 Resistant, that's average. So, I'd probably take the Combat Luck away and use the points on giving him back the End you bought down. Or, buy up the Rec, but that's probably not cost efficient. I don't have a problem with the skills in MP, just like I don't have a problem with the Reinforced Bow problem. But, I'm a kind GM. He's got a high OCV/DCV (12 with levels) but a low damage (8d6 AF). He does have a few odd attacks (gas, sonic AVLD) that might turn the tide vs someone other than the agents. He strikes me as someone "Street Level". Oh, yeah, re: 75 arrows. Explanation 1: Obviously you don't have that many on you. You just have the right number to do what you want and need to do. You're just lucky that you have the right arrows for the job. "Good thing I packed all 3 of my Sonic Arrows, isn't it." Explanation 2: Good thing little brother developed *Pym Particle Analog Quiver*. You've got one each of the multiple types of arrows available, then when you pull that one out, another un-shrinks to full size and is available for use. D
  3. Hee. And they said I'd not learn to play the game right. Stiffed Clearance and Logging with the problem. D
  4. So, I threw some things away at work that I shouldn't have, and we've got to reprint some things from the tape backup. This was actually an important change than one of the tons of useless stuff/wrong changes that crosses my desk. Fortunately, I figured out how to fix the issues. I just have to come up with something to keep it from happening again. Should be pretty easy, although it's going to require more time from my boss, since I'll have to run some things by him. I like being given the chance to fix the error, and come up with new procedures rather than just having the hammer drop. D
  5. As i sit here doing my job, Clap Back by Ja Rule comes up. First time I heard it, "Sound's like DMX, but not as good. Must be Ja Rule." Now, after hearing it a few times. Yep. DMX should be getting writer credit on that song. D
  6. I look around me, and I don't see anyone I really know. All the people I used to hang with have left, and all that's left are new people. Everyone's being driven away. And I don't much care for it. D
  7. Me Am Want Book! Yay! Let all of us here know when it ships from the printers, ok? That way we know to go pester the gaming store people to get us a copy. I'd pre-order, but the distributor rep "wouldn't know anything about it" and so it's easier for me to see it's released and then pester the gaming store guy... D
  8. I thought by now everyone had heard the story, so I'm amazed that someone here hadn't heard... In case you guys missed it, my first wife left me for another woman one week shy of our 8 year anniversary. D Edit: to forestall the flood of condolence emails I'm getting, I'm on wife number two, this was about 6 years ago. Thanks Everyone. Next time I'll remember to make this sound much more past tense.
  9. Hmph, call number 2 on my cell phone. Which, per SOP I ignored. Looked up the number, it's from Killeen Texas. Damn wrong numbers. D
  10. Actually, what you're hearing is a lot of people who seem to be in a adversarial arrangement with their GM, and the GM is taking advantage of the situation. You're right that an Agent Fight is a good place to hone tactics, and abilities. And that if you do stupid stuff, you should get hammered by them. But, when you do everything right, and the GM torches your ass because he can, well, something needs to be done. And Derek's right, that's talk to the GM first, not play tit-for-tat. Try to get a handle on what the GM's trying to do. And, if it's not to the group's liking, and no change is forthwith, then decide what to do. Tit-for-tat retaliation can be fun for a short while. But, Derek's right, it's ultimately unproductive. Get someone else to GM. People here are pissed off because they play this game for fun, and it's not fun to always lose. Neither is it fun to always win. D
  11. I got my first message on my cell phone yesterday. It was from some school, telling all parents that they're closing early because of the rain. I hope little johnny didn't wait for too long in the rain because mommy forgot to change the contact number when she got a new cell phone... D
  12. Do you know how much it sucks having a nose bleed while driving? If you don't, it sucks pretty bad. D
  13. I'm following an old Ford Escort Station wagon into work. It's been rear-ended by something that overrode the bumper, caving in the tailgate and busting out the back window. In the center of said tailgate was a bumper sticker. It said.... Bush is a punk ass chump I had three thoughts. 1) Worldmaker? 2) Did someone rear end it deliberately, in an attempt to show their displeasure? 3) Damn, it must suck to have an open window when it's raining cats and dogs. D
  14. And if the GM violates said unspoken agreement, what then? That's what Agent X is talking about. If every time out of the gate, the Viper hoards smack the hell out of the players using stuff that's tailored to spank the heroes, then it's time to be just as cagey as the villians. Time to plug those holes in your defenses any way you can. Or give up as supers, decide to use your powers to help your normal life, and become Construction Workers. Or, find a new GM who'll run a game more to your liking. D
  15. I believe the information in Ultimate Supermage was pulled and altered to some degree from the Kabbalah, a very ancient book of Jewish mysticism. D-man would know more, I've the barest of understandings of the Kabbalah, and most of that's probably wrong. D
  16. Somedays, I think I'm the only person in the world who likes Gordon Lightfoot. D
  17. That was a very interesting tactic for the commercial to take. It's a commercial for a Tires/Rims/Radios/Tints place. "If we don't have it in stock, you don't need it." That's an actual quote from the commercial. WTF. But what if I WANT it. I don't NEED any of it. D
  18. Continuous Aid to Regeneration, adds modifiers, relatively long fade rate, used primaryly to buy down the "increased time" limitation? Just something that sprung to mind... D
  19. Alison really needs to get herself a new computer. The *SNAP* sound that happens when she gets shocked plugging her headphones into the speakers is beginning to get really irritating. The little scream doesn't help, either. D
  20. Rhetorical Question... When does it become your problem, and not someone else's? If everyone heard you say something one way, and you didn't mean it that way, when is it your fault for not communicating your ideas clearly, and not their's for misinterpreting? How much responsibility for communication does each party bear? Just some things I've been pondering. D
  21. I got my first Cell Phone last night. AT&T had a nice family plan, and after having to push my wife's car 1/2 a mile Saturday, then wait for a convenient passerby with a phone, and the tech's not being able to find anything wrong, we decided it was time. I sit here staring at it like it's some sort of manifestation of ultimate evil. How silly is that? D
  22. Re: Animal Motifs for Supers Big cats, ranging from simple, Cougar, to more exotic, the Ebony Lion. Raptors, Hawks and Falcons mainly. Gyrfalcon, Goshawk, Steelhawk. We did have "Dog Boy" for a while, but the guy got fed up with the abuse... That Flying Squirrel Guy (powered armor guy)and Combat Wombat (martial artist with guns) were two of the most ... esoteric. Very serious characters, very silly names. D
  23. Hate to disagree, but.... It sounds from this like Mark is saying that the NPCs in the book aren't supposed to be adversaries. Since, ya know, they're not in an Enemies book. So, I read this pretty much exactly the same way Monolith did. My suggestion is to include in the San Angelo Second Edition book a section on "San Angelo gaming norms". Where do the superhero/hero break points lie? What active points can we expect? From the past product, it's a lower power level than in the Champs universe, and hence, it should be spelled out explicitly for the new GM. It'll go a long ways to explain things to people. (Look, the superheroic Dex in San Angelo is 23, or what have you--26 here is really damn fast) I don't know how that would translate to an Action System or a Mutants and Masterminds type game, or even if it would. D
  24. What, the Hero Games boards aren't good enough... The Sanctuary/Neutral Ground type of place, for those who have those old suppliments... I like the idea of some sort of club/bar/resort in the middle of nowhere. Where you don't have to sneak past a bunch of normals, and can get to easy. Somewhere uninhabited, but centrally located. Like ... Iowa. Which also explains why there's little supercrime there. Iowa. The whole state is Neutral Ground. Anyone violating that gets a massive spanking from the ugliest superbeings around, because you're messing in their backyards. D
  25. If you closely read the text for GRAB in CKC, you get the comment about the "vulpine faced" old man who's spotting them cash and info. Hmmm.... D
