  1. Re: WWYCD:The Artifact Ashley would never be able to touch it, since Phiddipus would grab it and ensure Ashley couldn't play with the godly toy. It's for the best though.
  2. Re: Signs your Champions GM is now (fill in the blank) TPK? Toilet Paper Killer? ?_?
  3. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Telthier: "Man the kobolt torpedo!" Skippy, the kolbolt: "Kobolt torpedo?" GM: "You're free of the dire shark's jaws. What do you do?" Telthier: "I RUN. I scamper at full pace." Skippy(OCC): "Telthier is speaking with his concious? I didn't even think he knew his concious's address" NPC, to Telthier: "I am a simple scolar who follows the draconic Propecy to find deeper meaning about to occur here in Xen'Drik, an event that will revole around you." SKippy (OCC): "Hear that? External confirmation that the world does revolve around you!" Skippy: "You are our friend now. These aren't the meals you are looking for." Telthier: "They are good at they do. What they are doing, I can't tell, but they are doing it well." Qualik: "I'll rage, grab him by the ankles, and hammer toss the kobold." Qualik rolls a natural 22 (Ebberron), rolling a 39 on the strength check, and rolls a 26 for the hit roll to toss the kobold onto the airship. Telthier: "F*** me, he cleared it." Telthier watches as two guards jump off an airship 40ft in the air from a critical intimidation rolled by Skippy, the kobold, after hearing both full grown men scream and cry like schoolgirls. Muroni, NPC following the party: "I do not think this isn't the epic battle I was to witness." Teltheir eldrich blasts the last helpless survivor (who hasn't had a chance to attack) after he charms him and got all the information he needed. Teltheir turns to the NPC priest Muroni: "He deserved it, he attacked me first."
  4. Re: [RPG.Net Article] The Birth Of The Superhero Game great link, nice to know how things started. Unlike some people, I wasn't here from the beginning
  5. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... τ=rF where r is radius and F is the force in Newtons. It can also be the angular momentum using the formula τ = dL/dt. I did this purely so I can say that I have finally used knowledge I have learned in my physics class. and cuz Remjin was begging for it
  6. Re: WWYCD: Ultimate Villian: Planet Earth! Alagara (elven beauty) would use her natural charms to talk it into giving humanity another chance. Ashley would taunt the earth somehow, hust to prove he doesn't give a damn.
  7. Re: The Hero Forum's Hottest Man in Comics. My vote is for Nightwing too
  8. Re: TK ninja idea, help needed. For something like this, I would personally recommend using Duplication. Cannot Recombine, no range(not sure if this is good), shares same body (-1/2). It'd be more expensive, but it could act on its own, even blocking for you!
  9. Re: Foxbat on MySpace why didn't I think of this? I'd rep you if i could....
  10. Re: best ever reason to be a Sidekick(hero support) cuz the superwomen might need help getting into their costumes
  11. Re: Few Questions about Sweep, and Combat Skill levels Good points. To get the drop on someone, I think a Invisibility power linked with movement would work better, with Invisibility only able to last a single round.
  12. Re: Disturbing Character premises... True, and the player is perfectly fine with having his character killed or backstabbed by the group. He knows that when you play an evil character in a group of good guys, it can end up ugly for the evil character. The good news is that the character is reasonable and will help the group out, with the reason that what helps the group helps him. He likes the shifter barbarian flesh shield to protect him, not maim him.
  13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Event: "A gentleman always shows a lady to her seat!" Then promptly tosses a bench at Widow. **** After a long battle in a subway, with holes in walls, torn vending machines and newspaper boxes spread across the floor, craters in numerous places, a hole (a hero was knocked up out onto the street), and benches tossed across the rails, a hero (it was either Event or Phidippus): "The janitor is going to be pissed."
  14. Re: Disturbing Character premises... I've both Dm'ed some distrubing characters and had players play some really sadistic characters: Valcraft, a villain who took Kagato (PC) in as his prodigy, was truely my most distrubing villains. He was meant to be everything I felt was evil, and it was a memorable character not only for kagato, but for the players who watched their story (it was online via IRC, and we still have the logs if you wanna see the whole thing yourself). Valcraft was a vampire wanna-be who had filed his own teeth into sharp spikes, and fed on the flesh and blood of others. His business practices include slavery and criminal organization, and Kagato fell into the role of being Valcraft's personal enforcer. Valcraft later turned into a psychic parasite, who dominated bodies until he was done with them, and Kagato was next on his list (and this was before I had even heard of Naruto). Dracon Crovak was a friend's first character for Star Wars who was a force adept. He routinely harrassed old men by force grabing their canes from them, to give an example of his morals. He ended up causing a civilization to go into ruination after he detonated a large blast within a huge city, causing the world to shift slightly on it's axis and changing the face of that planet. Telthier (same player who played Dracon, and is in my current Ebberon campaign) is a warlock who is neutral Evil. At first he wasn't that bad, but as their airship was falling from the sky, he eldrich blasted a old grandmother in front of her two grandchildren to take her life perserver. The children kicked him (leaving him with a single hit point) and he ran and leaped from the falling airship to safety. the other characters have no idea what happened, but the player knows his character's life hangs by a thread if they ever find out what he had done.
  15. I wanted to ask a few questions about sweep, and how to offset the penalties: With two weapon fighting, can you use more than two attacks with additional -2 penalties and still only take the -2 DCV penalty, or does the penalty grow to 1/2 DCV after two attacks? To offset the penalties to DCV with sweep, would Penalty Skill Levels work, or would 3 Point CSLs work? If you applied the Invisible power Effects (+1/2 to sight group) to strength (and assuming the targets' only targeting sense is sight), would the targets affected by the sweep attacks be considered surprised to the attacks? In the book it said that sweep could use the maneuver move through, but all the other affected targets must be adjacent to the initial target hit. My question is, could the move through be used multiple time against the first target, or the adjacent targets?
  16. Re: Mental Plane Battle I agree with the Int to Dex, I just decided it was easier to just let it slide over. I'll review that chapter and hopefully it'll be everything I need.
  17. Re: WWYCD: the times of peace are upon us Ashley could take up his old villain mantle to keep the heroes of Meillinium City sharp. He would even team up with Fox bat if need be (maybe that luck will rub off on him). He wouldn't be as nasty, just a pest that is deadly enough to make sure heroes took him seriously.
  18. Re: Worst. Hero. Ever. I thought cable was cool.... Personally, how about Howard the duck? I would say Squirrel girl, but she singlehandedly defeated the majority of Marvel's heavy hitters (Thanos, MODOK....).
  19. Re: Mental Plane Battle aye, if I do use it, I plan for it to be used only once. Where are the rules for transfering stats to the mental plane, if they already exist?
  20. I've been playing with the idea to force a Pc to fight a mental battle out with some sort of Telepath-jedi guy, but I didn't want the battle to be just Ego rolls. the idea I had was that the mentalist and the PC would be on another battle map (oppose to the one the Pc's teammates would be on), and the two of them would duke it out. the reason for this idea is that it would force a player who uses a brute to think outside the box. His str would instead be based on his presence, his dex on his Ego (to keep the ECV right), and so forth. His powers would be consolidated into a single variable power pool he can use to shape the mental plane (so he could use a slew of powers he hadn't gotten the chance to use) and to do special attacks, while the real battle occurs next to him. In a nut shell, i would like your input on this. Instead of having a character held for an entire battle (where his ego would have no chance), this seems to be a good idea to keep that character interested and throws a unique challenge his way. comments, suggestions?
  21. Re: WWYCD: Dead Enemies are no fun. Ashley would do an Irish jig on the corpse just to be sure. So what if they appoint yet another donut mavin to hunt him down?
  22. Re: Best ever Reason to NOT be a superVillian!! have you seen the retirement option for a supervillain?
  23. Re: Rejected Superhero Names The Fister - A guy with a super-sized fist The Cock - a Rooster inspired character
  24. Re: Character Post: Ashley Thanks. Those are typos I shall fix right now.
