  1. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I missed a few things on her costume. So I fixed it. And if I am remembering correctly, her new Hubby, the Green Arrow!
  2. Re: Ten Best Superhero Martial Arts I'm still waiting to see where this Batman's Guide is from...
  3. Re: How flawed is your Super? Eh, being an ex-Army guy, Hal Fleisner doesn't have anything against killing. He just doesn't as it's no longer part of his job. He really isn't a superhero, really, he's a licensed Bounty Hunter.
  4. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Black Canary anyone?
  5. Re: Ten Best Superhero Martial Arts Not quite. Uhm, in Aikido most of the maneuvers require you to move and intercept someone elses strike, which means if your hit, you can't do it. Or at least not without hurting yourself more. The style requires a lot of careful positioning and excellent timing. Most other styles don't as although, yes, not getting hit is ideal, you're not dependent on your opponent attacking you for the most part. In fact, more often than not, your trying to put him down first. Admittedly this is not an Aikido only flaw, but it's the best one I know.
  6. Re: Ten Best Superhero Martial Arts My brother who is no master, nor does he even claim to be any good taught me several things about Aikido, and frankly, it's a SUPERIOR style, except for one flaw and that's based on the fighter. Reflexes. If you have them, you can pretty much ruin your opponent's day. Otherwise, you'll get beaten up. Aikido is not for me, but it IS a good style if you want to turn your opponent against them. I believe it's called 'Origami with People' among the less serious practicioners. Having seen my brother's masters in action? I'll believe it.
  7. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine From my own Multiform Power Suit thread and cross posted, inspiration hit after a post about names. And so I bring you: Automatic Jack
  8. Re: Or "Mack Five" Your wish is my command: History: "Automatic" Jack Bronson was your typical prodigy. A brainy kid who used to get picked on in the schoolyards of life, until a Grade 6 Science project brought him to the attention of the news world. Having made a Force Field generator from basic electronics, he rocketed from the backyard of midwest U.S.A to MIT in a few years. Sadly though, his natural tendancy to be lazy meant he nearly took twice as long to get his PHD in Physics. Until he met his first Superhero. Defender was polite and encouraging, having heard about this young man, and this changed Automatic Jack (A nickname due to his ability to automate all tasks while solving rather difficult problems.) So gathering his notes, and his knowledge of Wave Mechanics and Particle Physics, he created a pair of gauntlets that can create forcefields and amplify his kinetics, increasing his strength and making him as tough as a tank, with some other features. He then chose his costume, which sadly hasn't changed despite some warnings from the local 'fashion police'. And so was now ready to fight crime. Or so he thought. Unfortunately a thumping by Grond made him realize that although the Power Grips (As he called them) made him strong and tough, he simply didn't have the mass to stand toe to toe with larger foes. And so enrolled himself into several martial arts schools and spent a year in training. Finally, at the tender age of 22, he's ready to hit the streets again. Personality: Jack is used to fame, ever since he made an invisible wall using light bulbs, an old VCR, a Commodore Vic20 and the left overs of an old ATX power supply, he's had his life in the public eye. However, he's a good natured young man, although he doesn't care much for those who bully. He doesn't have a secret ID, his parents having the same amount of popularity means they're as safe as they can be, so he doesn't worry too much about them. Physical stature: He stands a whopping 5' 9" and weighs in at about 155lbs. Before his physical training he was a weed, thing and slightly underweight, now he's filled out some, although he's no where near what most athletes reach. His martial arts training, which he continues to this day, is layering his frame with more muscle and confidence. I'll get to his stats when I'm more awake.
  9. Re: A Multiform Power Suit It's a great job, Braincraft, thanks! However, the only issue I have is a personal one. The setup up is confusing to my eyes, I'm having a hard time to parse it, which is partially the reason I was going with Multiform. That way each mode would have it's own 'sheet' for me to look at. Still, it's damn good!
  10. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine My Character. Just cuz I could... The Mechanically Assisted Combat Harness Mk. 5, AKA the MACH 5. (Don't ask what happened to the other 4. Messy business.) The Pilot, Harold 'Hal' Fleisner Telemetry, Radar and the better half, Tabetha Suzumaki
  11. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine Kind of hard to do planets in Herois. *Is very bitter*
  12. Re: Champions: The New Millennium I'm probably going to burn for this, but I LIKED that setting. I wish I could get the original 3 books, rather than the Cybergames reprint... *Sigh*
  13. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine I liked Batman Beyond, but damn if the costume was goofy looking, more so than the original suit. So, I've always wanted to redesign it. So I did.
  14. Re: Life heroes of your heroes Harold 'Hal' Fleisner, AKA MACH 5: "Mr. Clean. Here's a fellow pushing 80+ and he STILL looks like a super hero/sailor. And it's all done through clean living." *Gets thwapped by a pillow thrown by his significant other.*
  15. Re: A Multiform Power Suit That would be appreciated, thank you.
  16. Re: A Multiform Power Suit Fair enough, either mind building an example for me as an example? Only limit is it has to be no more than 200pts. total for the power set. I'm one of those guys who needs an example to work from.
  17. Now, I have this character I was playing for only three or for sessions about 5-6 years ago, and I want to dust him off and rework him. You might have seen the MACH 5 thing I drop on some threads, but the goal I want is how to make a Multiform Power Armour on 350 pts. The original suit had one basic form because in Hero 4th none of us knew how to work multiform at all. But in 5th, I want to have three or four seperate 'modes' for the Suit. Not sure how many points I want spent on the suit itself, but the basic framework has all the usual Iron Man rip off bits. Flight, energy based weapons, mini-missiles and super strength and tank level armour. That's the base form. What I'm looking for is how to replicate various modes, like a 'Flight mode' where all power is shunted over to propulsion and protection from elements. An artillery mode, where all energy is focused into ranged combat. Maybe a close range mode, or super defensive one. And finally a balanced mode, which is the MACH 5 base and general utility form. But how, that's what getting me. Anyone have any ideas?
  18. Re: Let's Do Lunch Hal Fleisner would simply smirk and go along with it, he knows how this works. As a Government Sanctioned Bounty Hunter he has no Secret ID, but he'd have to consult his better half, and the other member of the MACH 5 team. His girlfriend Tabetha Suzumaki. After all she's the robotics expert that built the basic frame, he just used his military engineering background in weapons to arm it. She's also something of 'RIO' to him, taking care of the sensors and telemetry from a remote location. If they were allowed to choose who they wanted to have them play their roles... Tabby would want Kelly Hu, and Hal, hmm, probably Nathan Fillion, just to mess with peoples heads. He'd want 10% of gross sales, though. That would be non-negotiable. Not that he's greedy (As a Super Bounty Hunter, he's actually rich) but because he think that movie execs are theives and deserves as much trouble as he can cause them.
  19. Re: Superbreath! Multiple powers? How so? Normally, I've seen him use it as an Energy Blast with a Knockdown/Knockback effect. Explain?
  20. Re: How would Stronghold imprison your character? Harold "Hal" Fleisner is kinda useless without his MACH 5 power suit. So take it away from him. (It's stands for Mechanically Assisted Combat Harness. I just thought of that now. >.>)
  21. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. This one is... I don't like the skin tone, and she looks too boney. Unless, of course, she's a zombie?
  22. Re: A DC Animated-style HeroMachine My attempts at a pair of DC characters. This was harder than it looked... Nightwing. Koriand'r AKA Starfire. Four layers isn't enough. >.>
