  1. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Storn? Wikipedia says this about Red Sonya's Origin. In this story, Red Sonja lived with her family in a humble house in the Western Hyrkanian steppes (modern Ukraine/Russia). When she had just turned 17 years old, a group of mercenaries killed her family and burned down their house. Sonja survived but she had been brutally raped by the leader of the group, leaving her in shame. Answering her cry for revenge, the red goddess Scathach appeared to her, and instilled in her incredible skill in the handling of swords and other weapons on the condition that she would never lie with a man unless he defeated her in fair combat. That's what I remember as well. But REALLY sweet Phantom pic! Wow!
  2. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. You like your thin blades, don't you? In this case, although I LIKE this picture, it causes it loses some of the impact. Most renditions of a barbarian male or female character, like Red here, have a broad bladed weapon because it looks HEAVY, and MEAN. Anyone who tells you size doesn't matter is fooling themselves. It DOES even if it's psychological. And Barbarian fighters are large, in charge and their weapons show it. But, then again, what do I know?
  3. Re: CHAR: Sparky! I repped him, for a cool character idea!
  4. Re: Armored Suit Hmmm, I stand corrected on Multipowers. Okay, that opens up quite a FEW things for some of my ideas.
  5. Re: Armored Suit Haerandir, the issue I have with your PA build is putting his flight with his weapons into a Multi-Power. You do realize he can only use ONE slot at a time, yes? So no super strength when flying. No forcefield when blasting... So on and so forth. You sure that's what he'd want?
  6. Re: Armored Suit 200+150 in disads? So a total of 350? You can do some NICE stuff with that. Problem is, we need to know what's the limit? I have a Powered Armour character as well, Mach 5, who's suit has different 'modes' (Transportation/Flight, Light Infantry, Melee, Heavy Assault) and I built him about as powerful as a man portable fighter plane. I just wish I knew where I put the old sheet. He was also built in HERO 4th ed.
  7. Re: WWYCD: My Good Enemy Harold "Hal" Fleisner would be kind of worried. The Mach 5 power armour unit is a two person legalized US Government bounty hunter team, an operator which is himself, and his girlfriend, Allison T. Jennings. And seeing as she can't have kids (Something that she doesn't realize he's guessed, which is why she won't marry him. Despite repeated attempts on his part.) this would worry him greatly. What happened to Allie? He'd probably go and help the kid, as after all it's the right thing to do. Even if this one's off the books and with no compensation (The suit is EXPENSIVE to maintain. Hanger Queen she is, especially due to the transformation mechanism) but he'd be wondering the whole time. There's also the fact that he has no personal 'villains'. He works to capture escaped supercriminals, not get cozy with them.
  8. Re: R.I.P. Steve Gerber Rest in peace, dude. It was fun havin' you with us, and know that your tales will be loved for a long time.
  9. Re: US Police Equipment One thing, although I'm Canandian, I've noted that most departments use .40 S&W pistols for beat officers, while detectives purchase 9mms. The reasoning, I was told, is due to penetration issues with the niner. It can (Not always) go THROUGH the target doing less shock damage and perhaps hitting an innocent bystander, while a .40 will stay in the body of a target, same applies to a .45ACP bullet, it's a better manstopper, although being a bigger round means less in the clip. Detectives, on the other hand, tend to prefer the 9mm because of the fact that it's lighter, easier to conceal and frankly, rarely go into a situation where they have to shoot someone.
  10. Re: Champions Universe: The Unresolved Questions/Plots This is mine as well.
  11. Re: A katana. Yes. I am an idiot. Thanks guys! What's the point cost for this puppy? My mind is not quite as sharp as it should be at the moment and higher maths like addition and subtraction are failing me.
  12. Seriously. I can't find my copy of UMA and it's driving me insane. I need the stats for a basic, run of the mill Katana, with costs and everything listed. Help?
  13. Re: Super tech effects on the world at large. Problem is... How do you think the established corporate base is going to react when you throw in all these new toys? Toys that they can't make and market. Not very nicely, I can imagine.
  14. Re: Officially, is Teleios Canadian? Wait? You think Celine Dion and Brian Adams are Canadian agents and/or weapons? Wow, how stupid do you think we are? We're CANADIAN, if and when we do attack (Should we decide that it's in your best interests to be invaded) you'll never see it coming.
  15. Re: Deathstroke Ah, OK. Good to know.
  16. Re: Character for review: Seeker You know, I've always wanted to play Seeker...
  17. Re: Deathstroke Uh, one question. Who's this 'Deathstroke'? I know of the DC Comics one, but I get the impression this fellow is not him.
  18. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Phantom Post! And I wanna play City of Heroes again... >.< I wonder if I still have Sweeping Wind, my Katana Scrapper...
  19. Re: Storn's Art & Characters thread. Great work as always Storn! Man, you got some cool stuff! As for the post, it may be because there's a phantom post or two. It happened to RPG.net way back (Two months ago, about, actually.)
  20. Re: Limited Psychometry (Long) AH! That's what I forgot! He gets access to the skills immediately, as long as he touches (he can get them as long as he's got light gloves on at most.) But he's at the mercy of what the weapon holds. Including if the owner(s) was/were less than skilled with the item.
  21. Re: Limited Psychometry (Long) No other ideas? Oh well.
