  1. Re: a question on bleeding You recieved a rebate on or in future editions paid less for the stun which provides an implied disadvantage. Knowing in advance that the house rule exists would allow you to take those points and purchase additional Stun only to counter Body Damage (One presumes at a significant discount). As a side note in 20+ years of playing Hero I've never seen a player build where Body = Stun. Not saying it isn't valid just likely to be a very rare scenario.

Re: Teleport redirection Since Teleport is supposed to be instantaneous, I think you need to hit them after/as they arrive (If you hit them before they leave they would just then teleport to their desired location when their action resolved). So maybe something like Detect: Teleportation with Discrim or Analyze to determine Point of Arrival, and targeting Teleport - UAA, Ranged, Indirect, AOE? (To catch passengers), trigger (Target Arriving at Destination)
  6. Re: 6e Characteristics I suspect that people might be interested in something more substantive than the sentence "Steve considered that and rejected it." Perhaps "Steve considered that and rejected it, which I agree with because..." or "Steve considered that and rejected it, which I'm not certain about but I understand that it adressess ..." etc. Simply stating what Steve has decided brings less to the discussion than it could, I guess is what I'm saying.
  7. Re: Finding something Hero System can't model... The Stretching thing seems awefully complicated when you could buy a boomerang (I prefer boomerangs to Spears) with Extra EB equal to the amount added by your Str Pushed with the limitation "Only as much as would be provided by Str";

  10. Re: How to encourage RP? Fundamentally flawed; Punishment only really works to discourage behavior - So if they were roleplaying badly - Shock Collars all the way. Encouraging behavior is a little more tricky - Positive Reinforcement maybe. Have you tried Reeses pieces?

As the GM you have at least some control over when Combat happens; If you present a session where the challenges are more puzzle and/or character driven you may be able to nudge them in a more interactiony direction. You could also provide each player with different clues and/or information between sessions; This would encourage them to talk to each other about what to do next and give you the opportunity to encourage them to do so in character.

Well 'I stop Everything' is absolutely one way to look at the effect of time stop, another is 'I can Move things, including myself, and cause damage to things and perform tasks that would normally take time without interference or a significant expenditure of time'. So if your GM is edgy about optional rules or just the Speed Zone in general you can still hit the Effect (or very close to it) on a budget.
  14. Re: Finding something Hero System can't model... Pretty sure there's a bit about changes to Speed in Combat at the beginning of the entering combat section. This did remind me that I forgot everything needed Invisible Power Effects on my build.
  15. Re: Finding something Hero System can't model... Not even certain how that would work. I've traditionaly modeled it as a handful of AOE selective powers and Teleport Usable as an Attack. So, essentially "What did I want changed about the world while time was stopped?' and "Where did I want to be standing when it started again?" Expend a single action for a Multiple Power Attack and Bob's your Uncle (not literally mind you, unless there's some EDM involved or I suppose if you actually have an Uncle Bob, which strangely I do.)

I've got that handwavium here somewhere...If I had to model this I'd probably try a Multi-Form variable Pool and EDM UAA: Poof He's Gone and I'm him and me - Klunky and Expensive, it might also be technically illegal which would give me the hat trick.
  17. Re: Finding something Hero System can't model... I think that might be a they haven't been modeled accurately more than they can't be modeled accurately - Although it occurs to me I have no idea what the swallowing whole mechanic is in the Hero System...you'd think it would've come up.
  18. Re: Finding something Hero System can't model... How do you do the Madness causing effect of the Cthulian Creatures? Ego/PRe Drain - Just big Pre Attacks? Not looking for Bigby's prognosticated argument, just curious. As to the part that may cause Bigby's forshadowed conflict (Slapping Bigby in front of things really does change how the phrase feels) Hero doesn't tend to do absolutes well, not that big a deal for superheroes where absolutes tend to be a bit 'soft' (I'm immune; until I'm not) but in fantasy 'hard' absolutes are, at the very least, staggeringly expensive to model.
