  1. Neck contusion. I am sure will be in IL for safety.
  2. probably could have shortened that to "he was looking for a scenario in which heroes". pretty sure, heroes, does not fit snyderverse ideals.
  3. Well, It's good advice regardless, isn't it? If he can remember it himself, it will serve him well in life.
  4. on a side note about the Mound. Mark Gubiscza made an interesting point the other day. Most bullpen mounds face a different direction then the on field Mound (space required alone I am sure has a lot to do with it), so if it is a windy day, such that can affect pitches, all pitchers are basically warming up in different conditions then will be on field. I also wonder, is there someone in charge (and I mean officially, not team based) of making sure the bullpen mounds match the height and angle of the game mound. I wonder this because it felt like for years every Angel reliever who came in (and granted they might have just sucked) threw their first 3-4 pitches off the plate to the same side. If anyone knows, would be interesting, because you could really mess up the other team if there isn't.
  5. that was where I recognized his name before realizing all the other stuff. Some amazing stuff, he will be missed.
  6. It makes you wonder. Do they, as a team, stand closer to the plate then most teams or is there a reason other pitchers keep trying to hit them. this is not trying to blame them. Sometimes I think pitchers are intentionally throwing at guys so they can go "See, we need our Spider Tack back" wah wah wah. MLB tried to form a group with a bunch of pitchers to come up with something not quite that grippy (for lack of a better term) that could be used universally and allowed and the Union could not agree on anything, so MLB said, ok, then you use nothing by the rosin until we come up with something, so I blame the pitchers/union completely. It was Glasnow saying he needed Tommy John surgery because they took away his spider tack, or whatever he was using.
  7. I agree on the earned run thing. any batter who gets due to error is unearned, but everything else is on the pitcher. They still need to add team errors too, the fly ball that 2 defenders get too then because no one is calling neither catch, not even touch, is an error, not a single or double. And right now I am so annoyed with the Angels. middle of a 12 game stretch with Oakland (who are basically fielding a AAA team) and Texas, who aren't much better. first, against Oakland in first of double header, our closer after getting 2 outs and 0-2 to a batter with no one on gives up single, walk and Hr to lose game, but we still take 3 of 4 from them, though feels like should have swept and losses like that linger. On to Texas where we have Syndegaarde, our number 1 or 2 pitcher and usually very good, spot him 3 runs in 1st (and felt like let Texas pitcher Gray get off easy as our 4 and 5 hitters (Rendon and Walsh) had terrible at bats. Bottom 1st, Syndegaard couldn't get out of the inning, giving up 6 runs and only getting 2 outs. lost game 7-4. Then 2nd game, pull Detmers after 3 2/3 having given up 3 runs (2 on a HR by Cole Kalhoun just before being removed) as Joe Maddon felt like he didnt have control of anything but his fastball. Game stays tied until 8th inning when Trout Homers to give us a 4-3 lead. Bring in Ryan Tepera, considered one of the better relievers in baseball and a great signing by Angels, who basically proceeded to help Texas have a 7 run inning (he was relieved after 2 runs, but left with bases loaded). So now, on a stretch I would have said we should win at least 9 games, if not 10, we are 3-3 for the first half of it.
  8. As an Angel fan and watch all their games, <sarcasm on> So this is unusual?<sarcasm never really off>
  9. Kind of going the other way, but I see your point, especially now with bullpen guys, but after todays game, Patrick Sandoval has a 1.97 ERA (he threw a 1 run, 6 1/3 despite not having his best stuff) in 33 innings for 6 total starts, meaning 5 1/3 per start. But he does not qualify for the ERA title at this point (he is 6th for guys who have thrown 30+ innings) because the rules state you must pitch 1 inning per game your team has played. So that got me thinking, 162 normal season, how many pitchers last season pitched that many last season - the number was 43. I am surprised to see it that high nowadays.
  10. Great, it's on the internet so now thats true.
  11. Switch to Bagpipes, I am sure she will appreciate the Trombone then.
  12. This is false, as none of them ever graduate, so obviously they are all being held back grades.
  13. I guess I should add one other things. What Marvel has gotten right the whole time is it is always about characters. And again, despite all the big stuff, it came down to how people felt about everything.
  14. Saw it today. Liked the heroes cameos, though probably shouldn't have given away the Professor X appearance. Wasn't thrilled with the Witch vs the Illuminati, mainly because Black Bolt was instantly dealt with and Reed not far behind, but of course Captain Carter and Ms. Marvel - Rambeau this time, go toe to toe with her for a while. I realized that Marvel is one of if not the most powerful, especially as an energy semi being and Captain America is notorious for being last person standing, so is in genre, but just felt Woke again, and I don't normally think that. I had no problem with the cover shot of all the women in the battle in Endgame.
  15. IIRC, there was also a storyline for year one where the Riddler was killing people if no one could solve his riddles. I believe Gotham was flooded then also and, of course, Bruce shows up and answers the riddles while wearing a mask, prior to actually becoming Batman. Been a while since I read it, so I am not sure, maybe that was part of No Man's Land.
  16. I am rewatching The Batman and realized the one thing that I think they got wrong. He didnt figure out what Riddler was doing until too late. The whole point is that The Batman is supposed to be the one person who is as smart or smarter then The Riddler. But the city got flooded. It sort of reminds me of Rorschach and Ozymandius - What, do you think I would stand here telling you my whole plot if you could stop it? I did it 30 minutes ago.
  17. I'll take red, cause red means it is faster - right?
  18. I flipped on the Kings/Oilers game 3 toward end of the 2nd period last night. My brother and I love it when an announcer shows that he is not a true follower of the game. They show the statue of Gretzky outside Staples center. He says Gretzky was great for the game and is back in the studio doing analysis for them and is watching his former team - The Kings. I really wanted the other guy to say, well, you know most the single season records he set were when he played for the Oilers, so I am sure he watching them too. I mean, how are you the National Play by Play announcer for TBS and NOT KNOW GRETZKY PLAYED FOR THE OILERS AND WON 3 STANLEY CUPS? Sorry, maybe he did, but the statement was stupid. he should have said watching 2 of his former teams.
  19. Wonder if this means he is still wielding Stormbreaker? And, where did the Hammer come from, in the current timeline, Hel broke it. That is, if Cap kept to his word and put it back like he was supposed too. But then, he also somehow got a repaired shield, so now I have to wonder (and will probably see this week, so if it answers questions, don't say) if DS:MoM will show some of the results of what he actually changed.
  20. I remember back in 80s seeing Dick Van Dyke in The Music Man. that was fun. Seeing Cats on my honeymoon at the theater built for it in London was a blast.
  21. Saw a stat that they have given up more runs then their players have hits. Remember a few weeks ago when teams were taking offense because the Giants manager basically said we have a no mercy rule, we don't stop playing no matter the score and screw the unwritten rules. then everyone got up in arms about piling on, etc. Well, that is 2 games blown in ninth in last week or so with leads of 6 runs or more. In today's home run happy, don't stop playing. You want the leading team to stop scoring/show respect, then have your players stop trying.
  22. You know when an ump knows he is wrong sometimes. In saturday's game in Chicago, Angels were down 4-0 in 8th inning with 2 outs and 2 on, Marsh takes a pitch that pitch trax clearly shows is at least 3 inches off the outside of the plate and called for a third strike ending the inning. He stands at home plate and argues with the ump, Maddon comes out and argues with the ump as we go to commercial. Come back for bottom 8th and neither was ejected. Oh yea, the guy on deck, Mike Trout. So, when a rookie gets away with arguing a strike call with and umpire and isn't ejected, you know that ump knew he screwed up.
  23. I enjoyed all the Queensryche concerts I went to, but my favorites were the Empire (due to the great songs added to them also doing Mind Crime in full) and Promised Land (where my brother and I had tickets at the Forum only 6 rows off the stage, the setpieces were great and though he was only 50 ft from us, we didn't realize during the club scene that Geoff Tate was there until he lifted his head from the bar) ones. Speaking of Queensryche, one of the times I saw them was opening for Iron Maiden (who I saw 3 seperate times) with Halford opening the whole thing. 3 of the greatest heavy metal voices all on one stage. Seeing Yes's Union tour was a music de force (as i consider, as i mentioned in another thread, Jon Anderson to have the voice of an Angel). Personally, seeing Marillion during the Clutching at Straws tour was a blast, but again that is more personal, and the last time that Fish was really with the band. (I saw them an additional 2 times and they were still great, but I love their early stuff up to that album)
  24. Sadly, as funny as it is, have to wonder how long after the people above him realized this he kept his job?
