  1. I will watch just to see if Ohtani can hit a ball out of Colorado. otherwise, don't really care and honestly, wouldnt mind Soto knocking him out in first round. Angels are bad enough, but later this week going into next should get Trout, Upton and Rendon back in lineup, we do not need an exhausted Ohtani too.
  2. I don't think they have every team has to have a player anymore either. I remember when they dropped that because a couple of the MLB analysts made a point of disliking not having one from each team. The reason is, your young kids watching bad teams can no longer watch the game and have their guy to root for. One thing I would do is put a ban on any trades after all-star voting is done up to the game (discuss sure, but no actual trades). I keep thinking, what if Trevor Story, last real home town guy, got traded this weekend. whose uniform does he wear and more to the point, even though everyone knows he probably will be traded, how much more does that suck for Rockies fans. By the way, on a side note, I blame Arenado as much as I blame Rockies management for that trade. He signed that contract knowing good and well what he was in for.
  3. And apparently the All-Star game needs to be discussed in the next contracts. Vlad Jr has decided not to take part in the HR derby, I understand the reasons but he needs to be there. Jacob DeGrom decided not to even go, so now the best pitcher in baseball who might break the all time era record has completely opted out. the MLB all-star game is slowly becoming the nfl one, where none of the actual best players show up. On the flip side, you have a guy like Ohtani, who loves the game and understands the "hype" and agreed to the derby early and says willing to pitch and hit in game.
  4. That and doing anything before hand would have caused problems with the Union. Basically, teams for the most part of handcuffed until something legal is out there.
  5. I enjoyed every movie mentioned and if on tv often will stop and watch them.
  6. says she is 5'3". Go watch the series Alcatraz. she looks smaller.
  7. One advantage to living in a small town and not having to work during day, I tend to go to early afternoon weekday showings on non discount days. So most showings I go to have less then 10 people in the theater, and spread out enough that no one bothers each other.
  8. iirc, Dresden Files was also another of the shows that was done out of order too. Part of the problem, and I don't blame them, but Dresden's books didnt really settle in until the 3rd or so. It was a show that would have needed time and word of mouth to get going. I would love to see someone do it now, especially as the series has enough popularity to possibly be done right, along with the advances in filming technology. I thought they should have cast Sarah Jones as Murphy: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1967673/
  9. On a side, I see Titans is coming to TNT, for those like me who were not going to pay WB to watch any of their stuff.
  10. MLB has talked about that the Yankees were built badly. Too much emphasis on the 3 pure results (strikeouts/walks/HRs). They have to many DHs or players playing out of position (their defense is one of the worst, as opposed to TB, who I think is best - look at the standings and see which works better. Stanton apparently cannot play the field and stay healthy. Sanchez went from an average catcher with offense to a bad catcher with offense, sometimes. The Angels broadcasters talked about him probably losing strike calls with his over-exaggerated pull to the strike zone pitch framing (their belief is that if a catcher moves his glove, then he is saying it was a ball, so call it. the best pitch framers don't move their glove, but catch the ball in a way that most the glove is in the strike zone, so may get a few calls). Beyond Cole, the pitching has been bad at best and they have had to wear out a pretty good bullpen. and now, there will be a lot of questions about Chapman and whether he was using gorilla glue (or whatever they call it).
  11. My brother was positive that they would call that game after the top half of fifth with the 2nd rain delay, so the Yankees could win (he is a big believer in conspiracy). They didn't, so now, given game didn't finish until 1am east coast time, a lot of Yankee fans had their breakfast ruined as they found out what happened. I agree, and truthfully, I think the Angels would like to not have him hit on those days, but with Trout and Upton out, they basically can't afford to miss him in the lineup.
  12. Ok, that was my second thought. Either way, I would agree they are the Mount Rushmore of the monsters.
  13. It was the Orioles I was thinking of. Didnt know they had won.
  14. Which apparently has a chance to be broken in the next week or so by Colorado(?)
  15. Rumor is, and stop me if you heard this before about a DC movie, that early reviews are ripping it so much, there is a lot of reshoots going on.
  16. As an Angel fan, I feel their pain.
  17. Watched Tenet the other night with my wife. Will have to watch again. Another good Nolan film, and I will say, don't be trying to do anything else while watching, you will miss stuff.
  18. Which is still better then Eragon, where I am pretty sure the writers only talked to someone who had read the Cliff Notes.
  19. Given they hired James Gunn, the guy who did GOTG, I don't find this surprising. I agree on not using Starro, but oh well. Looks fun, and i still like Robbie as Harley.
  20. Final Wars just felt like Godzilla meets the Power Rangers. And the bad guy's reactions evertime Big G defeats the other monsters makes me laugh, since it is so over the top spoiled brat.
  21. So, if DeGrom continues with whatever seems to be physically bothering him but continues to put up numbers, but keeps coming out of games early and doesn't make the "minimum" innings thing, do they still give him the cy young? he is borderline on innings right now.
