_Always_ have a held action.  If you don't use it as a counter-attack, take a Recovery with it.  As soon as you use a held action, get another one as soon as you safely can.

Using a Held Action for a Recovery is explicitly banned from 4e onward.

    A hundredfold,  you say?

    D&D:  yipe, from 8d to 800d, we're all dead.

Hero: so +35 Apts is x128, call it 33pts, +6.5d? It a KA. 2d, then? Explosion. Ok, roll your fireball +1.5d

Don't forget that the original attack was probably getting some damage past your defenses, so that's an extra 2-9 points straight to BODY. It's gonna hurt, even if your character won't be immediately reduced to ash.

I am 100% certain the the WotC game plan is to change that business model. They want to go all digital, all subscription based. Charge DM's $10/month for a subscription and players $5/month. Now that group of 6 people I mentioned earlier are going to be spending $35/month to play D&D. So in 10 months they will have paid what the originally spent on the books, and everything after that is more profit for WotC.

Typical (modern) corporate behavior. Instead of selling a product, they sell access to a product. They want to sell the same product to the same users (not customers!) every month. If they don't want to pay? Too bad, everything they had goes away. It's disgusting.

Regardless of whether the OGL1.0a survives or not, this is the biggest opportunity for non-d20 RPGs in two decades.  I'm seeing an explosion in discussion board posts about what other RPG systems to try, and even calls to action to deliberately switch to non-d20 systems, all purely to spite WotC's cash grab.  Is there like a gofundme where I can contribute to Hero Games' marketing budget?

What year is Stranger Things up to? It might be worthwhile to suggest (to the showrunners) to have the characters switch to Fantasy Hero, which came out in 1985.

Is Find Weakness not a thing anymore?

    6th edition eliminated find weakness.

The canonical replacement is to use a Naked Advantage on Armor Piercing or Penetrating (typically taking a Half Phase or longer and requiring a skill roll).
