  1. Re: Dark Champions Campaigns I am running a DC game based loosely off of the game Metal Gear Solid. The PC (its a solo game) is a NSA agent investigating a series of covert actions aimed at crippling the United states military complex (Destroying Goverment weapons labs, tainting the food supplies of oversea's bases, when possible actualy destroying said bases) The 'villians' in the piece is actualy the left overs/side effects of an old 1980's soviet military program to create 'super soldiers' basicly a sentient bio-nanotechnology that has been quietly infecting parts of the russian military, KGB, plus various citizen and contacts those 2 groups have acrost the entire world. The result is a 'terrorist' organization that seems to be made up of almost a miss-mash of differnt people from all class/levels/countries. So far the PC's have yet to uncover that the badguy's are being controled by an outside force.
  2. Re: The 'Elminster' of Hero: Harbringer of Justice? Harbringer from what I remember suffered a bit from what batman did in Justice League, they had to realy boost him for when he was in the "team' so he would be on an even standing with the rest of the team. Problem was that it resulted in the 'Batman is god' sydrome where he could take out anyone. Althrough, honestly IMHO, Harbringer having high number of points realy isn't a problem, several 'heroic leve' characters is (for example) Ninja Hero and the Ultimate Martial artist are 350+.
  3. Re: [4color] Why do you dislike the Iron Age style? (No flames, ok?) First I don't dislike Iron Age - I have done games based in it, I just prefer more 'traditional' 4 color comics. I rather have my villianes be villianish, hero's where big cowboy hats (symbolic) and everyone be easly identified. Was never one for the 'angst' in my game.
  4. Re: WWYCD? #80: Future Hope or Hellspawn? Panthro - flip a coin and go to the 'winning' sides reality to check out the truth. Nialis - Shot em both... its the only way to be sure.
  5. Re: The EVILLLL That is... Gentleman Jim? Closet character I ever had was the leader of a supervillian team who simply would not lie... ever.. about anything. She also made certian to always keep her word. I had to make sure she never said anything like "I am going to kill you" when ever she got realy..realy angry.
  6. Re: Marvel Heroes Quotes Umm... Actualy I think I belong to the 'previous generation' not the current one..heh... ok.. so I can't spell when I get tired.
  7. Re: Marvel Heroes Quotes Lets see The Thing: Its CLUBBERING TIME! The Human Torch: Flame ON!
  8. Re: The Raven - dark avenger of the night (Batman Tribute) Don't quite understand the 'rogue gallery' Hunted. I realize that its to simulate the huge number of people hunting him..but shouldn't they be seperate, makes no sense that a gallery of 6 to 10 supervillains are worth the same points as one (Black Harly)
  9. Re: Giant Character Help Ack.. I had never thought about how nasty that can be.....
  10. Re: What Constitutes a HERO 5th Champion? My best (IMHO) suggestion: Create a few Npc's of various power levels, defences and and such then do a few mock battles against the characters in the books. Probably best way to find the power levels your comfy with. but once again .. Its only a suggestion.
  11. Re: New to Champions and the Hero system... There is a company called Microtattics that makes a line called 'dirt cheap scenics' basicly PDF' s that you can print out for making city streets, bases, buildings what have you. It was set up for hero clicks and is in that scale but can easly be used for any game.

  13. Re: Sapphire? Britney Spears with superpowers..... wouldn't that actualy be a supervillian??????? Worse.. Fred Durst with superpowers......
  14. Re: Cool Names for a Superman Tribute Character? Obvious choices for the three UltraMan UltraWoman UltraLad(Boy)
  15. Re: Sell me on SH Star hero is a most have if you intend on running a 'science fiction' style game, it has almost all the details you would need with out actualy being an established setting. It also contains useful designs for starships that can easly be used in Champions (invasion anyone) Terran Empire is the 'established' setting for star hero and is a great source book (wish they had not reduced the science fiction line) It contains more useful gadgets, and extensive background on the other 'empires' in the galaxy (oh, its set in the mid 2500'ish.. in the same universe that champions is..yes..earth had superhero's in it. most of the races are right out of champions)
  16. Re: Giant Character Help Variable Power Pool (shape shift powers only) That way you can create what ever powers you need as you 'shape shift'
  17. Re: Does the IHA make sense? When it comes to the IHA, no, I don't think they make sense. but then ... hate rarely does. Got to admit.. I perfered the old genocide name... was more tongue in cheek.
  18. Re: Character Challange: Superman Clones To me Superman is the hero that is to good to be true, he is simply to good of a person for the era and place he lives in, and in many ways has simply 'taught' Metropolis to be dependant on him as a result. One of the marvel characters I concider to be an 'iconic' hero almost in league with superman (in pure goodness, not in power) would be spiderman. webhead was wanted by the FBI for crimes he had nothing to do with and disliked by the general population for the longest time for no other reason then the Daily Bugle going out of its way to paint him as a threat. And he STILL put on the outfit and went out to fight crime.
  19. Re: Why does Nighthawk always get depicted getting the crap kicked out of him? Heh, my thoughts exactly. Seeker and NightHawk are one and the same!
  20. Re: Archetype teams I used to use an all Female terrorist team, althrough they were a mixed batch when it came to power types.
  21. Re: Looking for HERO stats for: "Bullseye" if you do a quick search on 'classic marvel superhero game' you can find a site that has all the stats from the old rpg of the same name. (Exact addy escapes me at the moment) That should give you a fairly good idea of his powers.
  22. Re: Evil Businessmen. Just for fun... Gary Gygax. (Original 'creator' of DnD) cause we all know Roleplaying games are EVIL
