  1. Re: Help: Sniper Syndrome Unfortunitly, sometimes the 'stop, throw out the problem.. and set real limits on character creation' is whats required to make things work. Its hardline but mostly effective. Only draw back is you may lose more players then the one 'problem' player you toss. The way I handled a simular problem, I started a battle and then a turn into it, an alien 'power' teleported the combatents to another world.. (Minus the sniper who was to far away) so the sniper got to sit out the game.. Pissed him off to the point he almost quit, but it made the point.
  2. Re: Old Base Maps? Try OpenRpg's mini library ( http://www.openrpg.com ) I know there are a few base maps there, I created them back when I was running a champions game on their software.
  3. Re: Dream Teams - Champions Style Never had a 'perfect team' as most of them had one or more players that basicly screwed it up. But my best team was ... Dove: Flying Martial Artist with Pet Bird. Metalon: Mentalist/Teleporter Omullus: Wanna be Ironman in incompleate armor (almost looked like he was wearing shorts...) Next closest would be the teenage superhero group I had Panthro (Gm Controled) Martial Artist/Detective Magic Girl: Small VVP no other skills Swift: Speedster There was also a Energy projector who seemed to always betray the group (Horror stories about that player later) and a shrinking/density increasing brick. both of whom where so forgettable...that I don't remember thier names.

    Atlantis

Re: Atlantis Don't forget the corrupt brother of the king (assuming your going with Atlantis having royality) trying to over throw the rightful ruler.. Or the decendant of a long line of kings (from ancient times) who wants to bring back the monarchy if by Atlantis is currently ran by another form of goverment.
  5. Re: FoxbatsMasterPlan.Com Hmm... The FFFFFF... Lets see to properly build this team you need a interdimentional teleporter.. Not hard to get with your World rending abilties... Team Members: 1) Harlyquinn 2) The Joker (Female version from one of Dc's tangent universe) 3) Bloody Mary (Just for looks...) ... who else
  6. Re: You never had a character with ____ Powers? Dimentional(sp) shifting powers.. Someone who could hop from reality to reality ala Sliders. But then again..as I was (god I wish I could find hero groups where I now live) the primary GM.. I guess I have never 'played' any type.
  7. Re: Superhumans pulling an Authority
  8. Other possible things to concider: Other Religions: The god of one faith being proven as a fact BEGS the question of what happened to the followers of the other religions that were proven wrong. Many may convert, but just as many may refuse to believe the truth and be actively opposed to the offical church. Witch,Warlock and Demon's Oh my: If God is proven to exist, then most likely (playing it safe here) most of the other beings in what ever religion your using also exist. Demons, Witchs, Satan Himself....
  9. Althrough I have never ran a WW2 or Viet Nam style game, I am currently running an on again off again game based vaguely off the old PS game named Metal Gear Solid (more stealth and Guile then shoot out..the main character (its a solo game) is rather infamous for the number of head hits he has made)
  10. There is a book out named 3G (guns, guns, Guns) that you can order unline which has a very detailed system for creating almost any fire arm. It has conversion for most game systems including Hero and can be used to make sure the differences between say an AK-47 and M-16 are included in the game stats. (althrough for the life of me I couldn't tell you what the differences are as I am no military buff/expert)
  11. BlueJay and Cheshire Cat. Always liked thier backgrounds (especialy Bluejay's original one where she was being blackmailed into being a villianess)
  12. I concider them both to be fine game, BESM is more streamlined but its combat system has a few small flaws, while hero is more complex (althrough just as flexible) and combat runs much more smoothly (althrough a bit slower) As to social abilities those can be done with hero easy enough through the use of Pre skills and (GASP!) actual roleplaying. (BT is a great example of a character in HACK that was primarly social based)
  13. Good points all, I think the 2 Character Sheets for each player thing would work best (even if some choose to never go into THE WORLD in order to investigate there.) Think I am gonna have to give this a shot.. Maybe on Openrpg or Webrpg. Hmm now to use hero or (gasp) BESM?
  14. Didn't even think about that.. and I have star hero...
  15. The 'players' access the world using high tech 3d visors with built in head phones which are connected into a standard desktop computer. (strangely enough...the controls are done with playstation controls...) althrough they have on the visors they can hear (but likely not see) whats going on in the real world. At least one time in the OVA the main villianess/evil spirt (Her name is Morgana) stops a player from logging out..
  16. Maybe, but you do know what the creator of all Gnoll music was called don't you? The First Gnoll.....
  17. Project hack is a story told over a series of different mediums, It starts in Hack/Sign (showing on the cartoon network) continues in the Playstation games Hack/Infection through a total of 4 games, 2 OVA and one manga series (so far) The short version is a set of players of an MMORPG are investigating events where players go into coma's while playing said game (the game is called "The World" and is lously based off Everquest) Now..the question: How would you do this in a hero game format? Most action takes place online (as the characters search "THE WORLD" for clues as to whats going on) but also offline as the events in the world are effecting computer systems and such world wide. The problems arise when you try to come up with a way of simulating this.. Do we use Mulit-form (on and off line) create a character with a lot of points but 'online abilities' have only online attached to them? How do you simulate 'leveling up online?" If using multiform it would be possible for the GM to give a set number of EXP per level (seperate from the exp the 'offline' character gets) and of coarse, how to do Data Drains (a legendary abilty to hack monster codes and change them into weaker monsters... but if used on a Player Character online..it can cause the offline character to go into a coma.)
  18. I honestly expect boomer (the asian cylon) to end up not being a cylon at all but one of the real humans they based the cylon models off of. (mainly due to an inborn inpulse to not trust something they make SO obvious)
  19. Re: Hyperdrive, Mark I B5 had ships that 'sat' in hyperspace from time to time, they used it as a way of ambushing foes. It wasn't somethign they wanted to do often as they could get 'lost' in hyperspace, but It was possible.
  20. Hyperspace sickness...heh I like it. All the various ways sound good to me, althrough if its one lone character that suffers, I would go with the Physical Limitation bit. Sounds just about right on the money
  21. I was a big fan of the original series, I.. realy didn't like the remake, at least not as 'battlestar galatica' It lost a lot of what was good with the first series, and to me just didn't have the 'feel' of the original show. Reminded me more of Wing Commander. Good show...but not Battlestar Galatica. One last thing..why can the cylon (number 6) communicate with Baltar from where ever she is, and yet...can't track him.
  22. Re: Cheesy but... Only weapons were a yo-yo and bag of jelly beans (babies) are you forgetting..... K-9?
  23. He was a joke, and not a very funny one. (No, I never liked Galloping Galooper)
  24. Black Cat's 'bad luck' powers were removed by Doc Strange a long time ago (IF my memory serves) because they were increasing Spiderman's already horrible bad luck.
  25. Umm Megascale (for throwing distance only???)????
