  1. Ah, there it is. I was waiting to take that one as a secondary domain tomorrow with Death. I had a concept for a dualistic deity. Hmmm, instead . . . is Maturity/Adulthood too close to Wisdom? Concept would be someone you pray to when you're hoping to be accepted as an adult in the world, or when you want your leaders to grow the f**k up. Just asking for now. So many choices available
  2. Like . . . making things? Craftsmanship and so forth?
  3. Huh, it turns out his crazy extends way beyond hating Muslims. I kind of wonder if he was a little brain damaged from when he got shot in the face robbing a convenience store.
  4. Can you speculate some possibilities for "Interference"? We target somebody elses "divine aspect" and muck with it? So . . . Interference!Geography. death tribble drafts a river. I declare that the river is known for glowing frogs that get you high if you lick them. Interference!Sentient Life. death tribble drafts Merfolk. I declare that Merfolk look a lot like Manatees Interference!Gift to Civilization. death tribble drafts Perfumery. I declare that trade in perfumes are banned by most governments and churches, though the underground market flourishes. Interference!Flora or Fauna. death tribble drafts Singing Trees. I declare that singing trees grow fruits made of opal. Interference!Interference. I drafted Roads. death tribble declared that roads are plagued with highwaymen. I declared that Highwaymen are all women, actually. Interference!Mythic Monster or Guardian. death tribble drafted Wonder Woman. I declared that Wonder Woman rides an invisible dragon. Also, "Mythic Monster or Guardian" could be a Hero, like Hercules or something?
  5. Would magic systems be included under Gift to Civilization? If I want our setting to include Aes Sedi or Sith for example. (Assuming this is a Fantasy setting)
  6. Ah, so secondary domains are a bit like "Option" picks in other drafts.
  7. I'm glad I actually followed the link, or the sickness of your burn would have been missed.
  8. That'd certainly nix any committee work, and that's where most of the congressional action happens. I wonder if there's a mechanism for Congresspeople to vote when they can't be in the room? But if he actually has to do time, Congress will just remove him. His state is Red, so his appointed replacement will be too, and that's good enough for Congress. Well that was incorrect. Thanks megaplayboy
  9. Looks like that body-slamming guy from Montana will win his Congressional election (the assault happened after a great deal of early voting had already taken place, and Montana is super-red) https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/may/24/greg-gianforte-bodyslams-reporter-ben-jacobs-montana Besides, reviewing the reactions from the base, it might even help his election. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3555039/posts Is this being covered much in Great Britain? I ask only because the reporter worked for one of your papers (he isn't British himself)
  10. I saw an interesting proposal: Democrats in the houses of Congress should draw straws to kiss Trumps butt. The guy has a weakness for praise. Force one or two Democrats to praise him for just the right things, and they could steer him to better policy. Like this one: Trumps maternity leave proposal. From what I can read, it looks like the Democrats are opposing it because they oppose Trump in all things, with a thin pretense of opposing it because it doesn't go far enough. *grumble*grumble*. I don't like Trump either, but even a blind pig finds an acorn once in a while.
  11. Yeah, print scaffold then add cells is how they made the printed bladders. Nice to see them scaling up in organ complexity. Hearts, here we come!
  12. I dunno. Galaxy Quest left a very high bar for Star Trek satire.
  13. I really want to hear a few Republicans explain why this is less bad than Clinton's email scandal. If I had to anticipate the defense, I'd posit that Clinton's reckless email use may have been illegal, while Trumps divulgence was certainly not. Just, from a security standpoint, this looks a lot worse.
  14. I found two pieces to be insightful on the situation: Don't look for deep Machiavellian plots behind Trumps Firing of the FBI director; he just isn't that complicated. Attention, liberals: Comey deserved to be fired, and the Constitution is just fine
  15. I had no idea I wanted to watch this fight.
  16. Oh look, we have "grow an orc" technology.
  17. And it looks like, if there is no shut down, more of those government contractor dollars will head to Old Man's state. There's a silver lining. As for the deficits, I've posted my "derivative of the deficit" table before. We have a United government now, under Republicans. Both Democrats and Republicans make the deficit grow when they get the whole government. Under Democrats, that is because they grow the government and raise taxes to pay for it, but they grow faster than they raise. Republicans shrink the government and cut taxes, but they cut faster than they shrink. So, if Hillary had come to power with a Democratic Congress, she'd be growing the deficit too (though democrats grow it slightly slower).
  18. The more I think about it, the more I think this is just a power move. Donald Trump likes his power moves. It is not uncommon for the Senate to get classified briefings, and the only thing that is unusual here is the change in venue. Basically, he's forcing the Senate to come to him and get stuffed into a little room.
  19. All 100 senators were invited to a briefing at the White House regarding North Korea. I had no idea the White House could accommodate that. I just hope cool heads prevail here.
  20. Csyphrett, would you mind pasting in a link when you post news stories? I don't doubt you, I just like reading for myself, and the story didn't pop up when I googled it.
  21. I wonder what people in Moab, Utah think of the acronym for the mother of all bombs?
  22. A Kentuky coal museum is putting solar panels on its roof. Too strange for fiction indeed. http://www.vox.com/energy-and-environment/2017/4/10/15234330/trump-coal-museum
