  1. Re: Dragon-riders of Pern Back in the day, oh, 4e or so I had a solid Dragon Riders game going. It's actually not to tough to set up but requires a LOT of research to get all the additional weyr critters in there, especially with all the new books. It's a very rich and detailed setting, which reminds me since I've gotten to that box I may sit down and read them all again. ~Rex
  2. Re: What is the best thing to Drain to incapacitate? Presence. Fear the Paper Tiger for his Roar is mighty Indeed. ~Rex
  3. Re: Dynamite Entertainment: Zorro, the Lone Ranger, Buck Rogers, Sherlock Holmes comi Dynamite has a fantastic model for comic production. All of their material is top notch. My only gripe really from them is you get more "advertisement" then comics, on a comparative page count vs the other Indies but their Quality, is off the chart. Also their return to the comic fold of the Great Golden Age characters like The Black Terror (one of my favorites), will of course keep them in my favor for some time to come. Plus I still owe them credit for the Fantastic Invaders vs the Avengers run they did as well. Well worth the coin spent. Phenomenal material resource as well. ~Rex
  4. Re: Ultimate Pulp Cover Oh I agree, the stuff can be quite good and I don't think I've ever been disappointed in the research that went into the stuff like, oh say Horseclans for instance. Still......gurps......I think I may have hit that same sale though. Needed Traveller Deck plans for my Traveller Demo's for Mongoose. Conversion doesn't phase me. Giving Steve Jackson Games my money phases me heh...... Still......need more Pulp......Adding Pulp to anything just makes it better. ~Rex
  5. Re: Ultimate Pulp Cover Yeah but that means buying a gurps product, which I haven't done since Gurps Horseclans back in the day of: "We are Steve Jackson of Borg. Existence, as you know it, is over. We will add your Setting Product distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile, prepare to be Assimilated." ~Rex
  6. Re: Ultimate Pulp Cover Hmmm.......Very true, slightly more victorian then what I had in mind and then the creators were also leaning towards GURPS as a system. Even my pulp hating players are intrigued by a combination of that Plane and the Pulp print with the Rocket Cats .......Always good to have cats in rocket packs. ~Rex
  7. Re: Ultimate Pulp Cover Go from Cyberpunk, to Steam Punk. Then add more Nazi's and Zepplins, prophetic Babbage Machines, and more. Could work. ~Rex
  8. Re: Ultimate Pulp Cover Oh yeah.....One built her Whole PC around that picture. You should consider a Kazei 5 Pulp there Michael. I know a few folks that would be willing to play heh........ Oh, the other PC took the Pterodactyle to. It is of course, (the dino) piloted by an Ape. ~Rex
  9. Re: Will Stronghold True, it IS. Medula is probably the most complicated sheet (and the most dangerous). I should have those sheets back soon I just need to track down the last two (and one of them is Will so no point in posting till I get Will back first). Hate it when test subjects run off with my Material, heh. ~Rex
  10. Re: Eeep! Buck Rogers!!! Yeah I get that comic. It's an interesting twist. My only gripe really with Dynamite as a company is that half of each comic is nothing but Add Space. VERY nice approach to Buck Rogers though in that material. Let's you do StarPulp Hero with no issues what so ever. ~Rex
  11. Re: Ultimate Pulp Cover Pulp, must be run. heh. I managed to take that piece of art, and convince 3 d20 anti pulp folk, to play one game. Now, they are hooked, and the saying "You're a Damn Ratzi!" has replaced "What's his AC?" at the game table. ~Rex
  12. Re: Another Dino to find in your lost world The small dino's, are the ones my players are the most afraid of. Their starting to develop an intense dislike of the nile crocodile as well. And the Big Game hunter player that continually rolls an 18 for any sort of What Is It? Where Is IT? Why is it Eating me!? roll...... ~Rex
  13. Re: Perfect Pulp Painting No, the Pterodactyl, needs to have an Ape Pilot, in full aviators gear, and be escorted, by a small flight, of Martian Rocket Pack cats. ~Rex
  14. Re: Perfect Pulp Painting It's all good pictures ..... And yes it is a bent Sky King reference. Pulp, the Ultimate Genre. ~Rex ......
  15. Re: Perfect Pulp Painting Ouch, one of my Pulp Players saw that and is now going on a Sky-Queen kick ......I get the feeling I may be in for some serious Aerial Orientated "Return of Crimson Skies" rpg action in the future. Not that that's a bad thing. Biplanes, Zeppelin carriers ....Great picture, definitely worth using. ~Rex
  16. Re: Modern/Futuristic Pulp movie I like. Should be interesting. Has that nice Ed Brubaker Sean Phillips feel to it to me. ~Rex
  17. Re: Celebrity "Pulp" Death Match! Honestly I didn't find the movie, Non Enjoyable. I thought it could have been MUCH better, but I still find it an entertaining beer and pretzels flick. Still, the New Flick coming out promises to be much truer to the times, and much truer to the subject as well, so, I've got my hopes up. I felt the movie only scratched the surface and then muddled up a few other things but then on the other hand, I still had a good time with it, Just like I had a good time with "The Phantom", and a Good Time with "The Man of Bronze".... However, if someone is going to crank out, a movie for the Shadow, that does for The Shadow what Dark Knight did for Bat-Man, I'll be happy. ~Rex....... Still puts Doc in the lead, will give it another day or so before declaring the winner.
  18. Re: Eeep! Buck Rogers!!! Retro's fine. Just give me a Buck Rogers that doesn't look girlie. ~Rex
  19. Re: Lantern Corps...Only Not Definitely a lot of depth there in the idea. ~Rex
  20. Re: Eeep! Buck Rogers!!! Don't care for the "look" of the actor. Little to sissy looking to be a good Buck Rogers in my opinion. Still I'll reserve total judgment until I actually see the product. ~Rex
  21. Re: Lantern Corps...Only Not One could also work in the Asian Elements as well, tie in some colors there with the virtues and emotions .....I might fiddle a bit with some build stuff after I rescue my previous build project from the players so I can post them. I've been on a kind of high end force field/body armor kick for awhile (think, what's in the Novel Hyperion)......tis an interesting Idea. ~Rex
  22. Re: Lantern Corps...Only Not Why not structure them along the lines of the 7 Virtues of Bushido, and then go High tech Force field modeled on colors and orientated along those lines as presented in the 7 virtues? ~Rex
  23. Re: day of ragnararok pulp? Darren's showing off again. He is of course, compleatly correct as usual, and once again shows, Pulp, can not be stopped nor constrained by mere ambiguousness of the bad guys. ~Rex
  24. Re: Eeep! Buck Rogers!!! Shhhh .....to much Praise of Buck Rogers will Wake "She who must not Be Named!" and she'll want her blood money and souls and hence, Ruin anything that could be great and good. Nifty Trailer though, appeals to my Pulp soul. ~Rex
  25. Re: Your Version of FRANKEN-HERO 6e all the way .......Ever see those small withered herds of ADnD folks still shuffling along out there, lost in the night, alone, no one to play with.....sad sad thing..... Besides. It works better. Both in function, tool kit-ness, and adaptability. ~Rex
