Now I have to convert it to a character sheet for an upcoming campaign I am planning. That's what I get for randomly looking in threads. xD

The spellchecker-can't-save-you typo of "pants" for "plants" in an essay about the possibility of life on planets other than Earth can give an instructor concentration-breaking giggle fits for much of an evening, if the error appears in a particularly inopportune place.

I've been plowing through a new web comic -- Stand Still, Stay Silent. It's a Post-Apoc story where the only remnants of civilization -- indeed the only known rest om Mankind -- is Iceland and some enclaves in the other Nordic countries. The rest of the world was either wiped out in a plague ninety years ago, or transformed into ... things. It's in English, but seems to be written by a Scandinavian. The art is downright amazing at times (check the first panel!) and the characters are believable.

I usually see this one captioned with a joke about "sub woofers".

The Beverly Hillbillies come out in Family Feud. Except they think it's a "Hatfields and McCoys" type of feud and bring their shotguns to the game show.

One that a friend told me this weekend:
"I've been married for 15 years. 20 if you count the wind chill."

I went to a bar last night and saw three, um, hefty women speaking in what I thought was a Scottish accent. So I walked up to them and said, "Pardon me, are you three lasses from Scotland?"
One angrily replied, "It's Wales, you bloody idiot! WALES!!!"
So I said, "Sorry about that. Are you three whales from Scotland?"
And that's why I woke up in the hospital today.

Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, and Dean Martin were walking along the beach when they saw a strange creature that had been washed ashore. Frank took a closer look and said, "What do you think, boys? Some weird kind of fish?"
Sammy took a closer look and said, "That's no fish. It doesn't have any fins. It's got to be a snake of some kind."
Dean took a closer look and said, "That, my friends, is neither a snake nor a fish. That's a moray."

A few handy tips regarding dairy products:
* Milk is spoiled when it looks like sour cream.
* Sour cream is spoiled when it looks like cottage cheese.
* Cottage cheese is spoiled when it looks like regular cheese.
* Regular cheese is nothing but spoiled milk in the first place, and generally cannot spoil further.
And perhaps most important:
* Blue cheese is spoiled when you don't remember buying blue cheese.

I've been working my way through "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and I was doing fine until I hit the episode, "The Body".
Given the losses in my life lately, it struck just a bit close to home. It's also one of the best episodes of television that I've seen.

Snuff by Terry Pratchett. Catching up with one I missed. Interesting story and still has the trademark humour.

Tonight I just remembered an image that made an impression on me 20 years ago. At that time I was on my way home from work. It was overcast that night. I saw a house in the distance. It was large and looked old. A light came from a single window. The image could be considered a bit dramatic, but nothing earth shaking. But for some reason, it struck me as significant. Why? Maybe I saw it in a movie or a painting. I don't know, but I had the feeling I'd seen it before.
Why did I remember it tonight? I was looking out at my patio, watching the LCD lights changing color. Then I looked up to a neighbor's house. Sure enough, there was a light emanating from a single window. Then deja vu hit me. The image is still poignant, and I still don't know why.
There's no need to dwell on this further. I'm just getting it off my chest.

A website about painting miniatures suggested that a good way to paint blonde hair is use a dark green wash on a yellow base coat. I just tried that technique. End result: Black Canary is now having a really bad hair day.
