ghost-angel
Re: Master List of Distinctive Features Why are you assuming I was referring to "Up-Speak" and not literally phrasing everything as a question? Couldn't someone just constantly speak in question format? Don't you suppose even Japanese people have individuals who talk that way? Haven't you ever met someone who phrases nearly everything as a question? Haven't you ever watched Jeopardy or Drew Carey's Whose Line Is It Anyway? Are you starting to see my point? Well, that's up-speak is? Everything you say is in the form of a question? Because in English a question is formed by raised that last syllable or two up? hence the up-speak? got it? JSenecal
Re: Master List of Distinctive Features How about "Sets off Metal Detectors", for whatever reason (Metal plate in skull, steel pins held bones together while they healed, blood very rich in iron, etc.). Or "Cannot eat or drink" for a construct (either magical or technological) that can otherwise pass as human. The Robot on "Future Cop" had this one. PoorWandering 1
Re: Master List of Distinctive Features Wouldn't that fall under "Dead Ringer For (Celebrity)"? DF-Elvis would unless the character was in fact Elvis, see Bubba-Ho-Tep. But DF-Elvis impersonator would include the 8yr old who won his regional contest at the recent world Elvis contest. In other words folks who are clearly NOT elvis but who do conform to the archetype he created. Say a supervillien named "The King" with sonic mind control powers. Silly yes, but you are going for a master list. I task i suspect will be impossable as this is a very open disad And another DF-always impeccably dressed. Think John Steed of the TV Avengers, he couldn't go undercover if his life depended on it. Another: DF- Invisible. Think H.G. Wells's walking suit of clothes. ghost-angel
Re: Master List of Distinctive Features the thing about Master Lists, especially one like this, is you can come up with a few very broad DF and then specify as you decide exactly what the DF is. example: DF - Elvis look-a-like/impersonator is really DF - Dead Ringer for Elvis (always dresses as and acts like Elvis). [DF: Dead Ringer For (Celebrity)] DF - Impeccably Dressed is really DF - Always wears the top in fashion (Impeccably Dressed) [DF: Wears (Particular Item or Type of Items of Clothing or Jewelry) At All Times] The maste list is a broad starting point, sometimes specific, sometimes vague but very alll-encompassing in scope.
