Guest WhammeWhamme
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? Michael Surbrook. Ditto. Sorry, but he's just so... so... well presented. He does some of the few CS's I can actually be bothered reading.
Lord Liaden
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? There are a few talented people here on the boards who excel in specialized areas of conversion: Killer Shrike sets the standard for D&D-related stuff, and no one converts mecha better than Nusoard Graphite. Robert Harrison is the ace for all things from White Wolf's "World of Darkness" line. Overall, though, Michael "Susano" Surbrook is in a class by himself. The diversity of his adaptations is truly amazing (even discounting the contributions to his website by others), and the thought and care that he puts into them is readily apparent from his clear, coherent format and his notes describing his rationale for any given conversion. yamamura
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? Yep while there are ones who are good at specific things, my vote goes to Mr. Surbrook. G
Sketchpad
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? I gotta agree with the gang ... Surbrook does a great job I would like to give Killer Shrike a fair nod for his fantasy stuff as well
Kristopher
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? Surbrook is highly recommended by someone who I think does very good comic book adaptations, so that puts him right up there.
Enforcer84
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? I like to think I am pretty good myself But Susano blows me out of the water. He actually does something he calls "Research".
TheQuestionMan
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? Check my Sig, follow the Links, and and make your own decission. Cheers QM P.S.: Susano of Surbrook's Stuff gets my vote too, but don't forget the hard work everybody puts into their Conversions and Adaptions. Hermit
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? *Begins to sing to the tune of "Oh, Susana!"* I come from other media a character to bring, I lay him down and look around For a HERO version I'm hungering Oh Susano! You got this guy for me? I suck at conversions, but him I've got to see From Rabbit Ninjas to Slayer babes, The write ups are quite wry I think he's done most everything, even Robot Samuraii! Oh Susano! You've got too much free time But loving HERO should never be seen as a Crime! *is mugged by mob sent to silence him in mid banjo strum*
Vanguard00
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? I gotta say Surbrook, too. He's the most consistant, prolific and realistic (in terms of the genre) conversionist (is that a word? ) around. Besides, who am I to argue with Gene Ha? Susano
Re: Who is your fave conversion writer? *blink* *blink* I'm not sure what to say.... Although I do feel bad that I haven't been able to submit much of anything conversion-wise recently. My new job is 9-10 hours/day, and my free time is being put into the HSAB (which, IMO, will kick ass and then some!). However, I do have a huge list is stuff I am (slowly) working on, including: Steam Detectives HERO Trigun HERO Templates for the Akaana (Solomon Kane), Hani (Pride of Chanur), Kif (ditto), Mri (Faded Sun), and Molts (Hammer's Slammers) John Carter of Mars The Man With No Name The Predator creatures from AD&D and CoC (you may see a Hound of Tindalos soon) Usagi Yojimbo HERO more Feng Shui HERO more of the cast of Top Ten uhm... and so on.
