Saturday, I'm running my Christmas Special episode. I have to do the write-ups but here is the basic premise. The undertone is dark because of some background points I need to get up. A little modification and you have yourself a full fledged Christmas special adventure. Background: Blood Thursday A feature story published on Christmas Day would refer to December 23rd as Black Thursday. The name would become accepted as the official phrase. 8:00 AM Reptile turns on the morning news to catch a newstory. Sometime around 4:00 AM, two dozen babies were kidnapped including the three day old son of UNTIL Captain [Name]. UNTIL and the FBI are already investigating the crime scene. The news story remains top news and people are glued to it. 12:00 AM Update on baby snatching. Video tape shows abductor. INT -4 roll from The Greek reveals that the kidnapper was Hekate. 2:00 PM Breaking News: A Cargo Ship has disappeared in route to Eastport, Maine. 2:30 PM Update: Cargo Ship was discovered by a weather satellite when an unusual heat source was picked up. The coast guard quickly confirmed that the heat source was generating from a burning oil source with signs of ship wreckage. 3:00 PM Update: Three Magical Groups have publically stepped forward requesting the The Greek be deported for illegal immigration. 3:15 PM Cargo Ship is confirmed destroyed when wreckage is identified and three bodies discovered match crew rooster. 3:45 PM Evidence in cargo ship suggests ship was destroyed by multiple missile impacts. 4:30 PM VIPER publicly announces it destroyed the cargo ship and asks for all shipping to halt over the Atlantic or it will destroy more ships. 5:00 PM While interviewing a parent of one of the kidnapped children a breaking news report kicks in. The Champions have just engaged Mechanon in downtown MC. 5:01 PM Breaking News is interrupted with more breaking news. A tape was delivered to the broadcast news company. On the tape is a woman (not Hekate) who is delivering a message for her Mistress. If The Greek does not show up at the warehouse where toys for the orphaned children of Dr. Destroyer, children will be killed. To prove they mean business, they broadcast the first death... the UNTIL Captain's son. Every five minutes a child will be killed. Setting: A warehouse in the middle of Millennium City. The warehouse is storing Christmas Toys for orphans and needy children. You don't need to make it necessarily the Dr. Destroy orphans created in my last game. Especially if it is making it a Christmas episode. The building is large and square with a simple X catwalk on the roof. The walls are lined with large crates that go up to just below the catwalk. There is almost enough space between the crates for two people at once but not quite. One large person could fit however. Villians: Jack Frost - 350 pt Ice Manipulator. His main powers consist of a Change Environment with linked Clairsentience and a couple of standard Ice Attacks. All powers are magic based. Hekate - Appearance only. She appears long enough to dictate at the heroes. She uses some magic on the UNTIL Captain's son who was not really dead after all. Heir of Zeus - Infused with magical power, the baby grows to a very large size. High STR, low INT, Electrical and Wind attacks. Extreme Defenses. Obstacles: Babies - To make things interesting, the babies who were kidnapped earlier are on the catwalk asleep. Each baby has a timer with a small explosive on it. If Hekate feels that the heroes are winning, she will lift the spell keeping the children asleep. UNTIL Captain - At the start of the scene, the players should arrive after UNTIL. The captain is being physically held back by three UNTIL agents. If you need to add an additional element to the campaign (either in favor or against the players) let the captain break free or trick people into thinging he has calmed down. Final Notes: Defeating the UNTIL Captain's son does not kill him, rather it counters the spell turning the baby back to normal. If you want, and the players do not get a chance to rescue the babies, you could have Saint Nicholas turn the bombs into Candy Canes or something.
