Re: from little plot seeds, mighty games do grow: Share you ideas!

Well, I haven't read a;; the entries but one of the early ones I saw gave me an idea.

Not only is Foxbat trying to reform, but....

He's decided the best way to reform is on camera for a new reality TV series which keeps accidentally involving the heroes. Even though they blur the faces on the heroes to get out from having to get their permission, it obvious who they are because their costumes aren't blurred or even though they are blurred, just how many 7 foot granite demonas hang out in Sheboygan, NJ anyway?

Unt hilarity ensues. You VILL laugh for hours unt hours.... you VILL!

Five Deadly Venoms

"Five Deadly Venoms. The Centipede, The Snake, The Scorpion, The Lizard, and The Toad are a truly invincible force." Your PCs find paperwork that starts off with these two sentences. After reading through the information, they easily discover that "The Snake" is Taipan. Now the question arises: Who are the other four? Are they clones? Are they similar? Do they all have 12 SPEED? Will the four try to rescue Taipan?

Who put these pages from the "Complete Guide to Martial Arts Flicks" on my desk?

Why do I seem to have it in for small children today?

Black Harlequin

1) Killer Furbie! - Several people have been brutally killed in bizarre fashion by a serial killer over the past week, with no apparent link between the victims. The M.O. appears to be one of terrorizing the victim after locking them in their own home and cutting the phone line. The murder weapon is always one of convenience, which baffles profilers when measured against the calculated way the murderer traps their victim. The truth, there is no “serial” murderer, but instead the Black Harlequin has replaced the chipsets of an entire shipment of Furbies. Meet Chucky’s pet!

2) Nightmare Dolls - An inexplicable epidemic has gripped the world. Children in developed nations are having difficulty sleeping, reporting nightmares in which friends and loved ones are being killed by popular daytime children’s show host, (A certain purple monstrosity being chief among them). When examined by psychics, there is no sign of mind control or any other paranormal interference and no trace of some new virus can be found. Then, one of the children acts out his nightmare, and they begin to stop. Soon, children all around the world are committing murders. What could be causing this behavior. The answer lies in recently purchased dolls, which children find themselves unable to sleep without. The dolls are of various types and makes, from multiple companies. Inside are subliminal subsonic emitters that warp and twist the dreams of the pre-pubescent. The Black Harlequin’s largest escapade yet!

3) The Red Shoes - The Black Harlequin has been reading Hans Christian Andersen again, and the latest line of "Pretty Bellerina" Red Slippers have an unfortunate effect. After 24 cumulative hours of use, they tighten around the wearers feet, and force them to dance, and dance, and dance...

I'll throw down the gauntlet.

Anyone like to create some plot seeds for Cantrip, or Charm?

Cantrip

1) Watch me pull a hero out of my hat- By some mysterious means, Cantrip has learned her latest trick of pulling adult superheroes out of her hat! Unfortuantely for the PCs, one of them seems most susceptiable to this so lately every time she gets in over her head and her team isn't around, she insists on drawing him out and making excuses. Suffice to say, suddenly vanishing in secret ID only to be dumped out in costume of the headwear of some teenage girl crying for help can be endangering to your double life. How can the PC (s) explain to Cantrip that she needs to excercise more control, and they have lives of their own. What if she develops a crush on the hero she summons, and keeps getting into trouble just so she'll have a reason to see "Him...*sigh*" again?

2) He would hunt me in a boat, he would hunt me with a goat- Her team mates know that Cantrip didn't really get her hat from Witchcraft, and she made up the name "The Magic Hat of Sousieloos the Magnificent"for it. Yet now the young girl has cried wolf once too often. She claims that there IS a Sousieloos who wants her hat, claiming it as his own and the Motor City Defenders won't believe her so she needs the PC's help. Could this Mysterious being be some power hungry mystic pulling a con on the girl? Or perhaps something not human at all? Or could it be that somehow her guess IS the truth, and he's the rightful owner of the hat, or was? Until they find out, he will hunt her here and there, he will hunt her everywhere.

3) Teacher Creature- Cantrip startles friends and foe alike when she casts a spell seperate from and not powered by the hat! When asked, she mentions that she might have a teacher, or maybe she's just brilliant at this magic stuff. Yet there is something wrong with these new spells. They seem to have truly unhealthy, even infernal effects; and her personality is starting to reflect her new prowess. She wants to spend less and less time with either her friends or 'the norms'. Cantrip grows more selfish with every casting. Who is teaching her this twisting magic, and how do they get Cantrip to stop while they hunt this obviously bad influence on her down?

El Salto

Light Work- El Salto watches the Discovery channel, and learns that on the moon, people can leap even further thanks to the lighter gravity. Learning that new anti grav tech is being developed, El Salto decides to steal it and use it to enhance his already "omneepeetant leeeping". Alas, he is no technician, and causes a rupture in the device. Now 'zero g' spots are appearing all over the city and the superheroes must prevent volvos from floating off, or keep kids from 'flying', all while trying to capture the diminutive thief with the damaged device in question.

Who Gets to Date El Salto?- El Salto stumbles upon a deserted TV station that is kept 'in reserve' by one of the local networks, but mostly forgotten. He soon realizes this will allow him to solve a problem. WHICH lovely lady should have first crack at earning his love? Soon, female models, celebrities, and other beautiful women in the city go vanishing; Kidnapped by El Santo. They will have the honor of being contestants of his own TV show "Who will date El Salto?" Giving the high COM score of most female superheroines, a few PCs may get kidnapped in their own secret IDs.

No means No- El Salto makes a terrible mistake by showing too much unwelcome affection for a supervillainess, perhaps hinting at a relationship with some psychotic beauty that does not exist, and offends her! Now, El Salto must turn to the PCs for help, begging for them to explain to her that no harm was intended, and "leet her down gently, but tell her I am no longer interested?"

Suspected Dr. Destroyer tech suddenly floods the global market via legitimate companys offering it at prices that undercut all other competition. Within a year virtual monopolys are established over the automobile, pharmaceutical and telecomunications industrys by a small circle of companys believed to be linked to Destroyer: no laws have been broken and the companys (now a powerfull world class conglomerate) continue to sell at low prices. The global economy is changing- it is too early to say for good or worse.

What do your pc's do? No laws have been broken, by what right could they act against this economic force- and what would be the consequences...

Since he has been declared an international terrorist, if you can investigate the companies, and get proof that they are indeed owned by Dr. D. Then the government would shut them down and seize the assest.

Hmm... pardon my ignorance, but who's El Salto? (And does that mean "The Salt" or something different:confused: )

Entertaining nonetheless.

El Salto is "The Leapfrog" from the Ultimate Speedster, who is as near as I can figure, a Batroc the leaper homage, only he is a 4'2" Mexican. Yes, he has a proud mustache, a bad accent, and yes, he thinks he's God's Gift to women. :)

Morph

Return to Xargann- In a battle against a mentalist, Morph's lost memories, her true memories, start to bubble through...not enough to restore her old personality, but she finds herself consumed with a desperate need to find a place known only as "xargann". She goes on a desperate quest for knowledge about a place that few, if any know about. Stealing ancient tomes, robbing the high tech firms of any data she can steal hard copy discs of, and threatening experts to help her or else... there's no limit to what she won't sink to get to a place that she feels a salmon like need to return to. It may seem minor at first, but if the heroes don't stop her, she might well use devices that cause a dimenional rupture, or make a pact with a dimensional conquerer where she sells Earth out for transport.

The Return of Shadowboxer-Shadowboxer died during the battle of Detroit, and is still remembered and honored. Morph smells oppurtunity, and decides to cash in big time by pretending to be the hero returned from the grave. Most of Millennium City's populace seems ready to embrace 'him' whole heartedly, and Shadowboxer begins to milk them for all their worth. However, some of the fallen hero's family don't buy it. Shadowboxer's brother plans to ask the PCs for help... hopefully before Morph can silence him.

Baby Baby- Morph discovers an odd swelling, almost as if she were pregnant, only pregnancy doesn't normally shift around in one large lump to other limbs then back again. It turns out Morph is about to reproduce asexually, akin to a mutlicelluar version of mitosis! Her durable body makes 'removal' of the coming reproduction difficult if not impossible, and as she's ignorant of her nature, she has no idea why this is happening to her. Any supergenius superhero is likely to suddenly find himself in service as a midwife!

EDIT: BTW, for those wondering who she is, Morph's full write up is in the Ultimate Metamorph

Demoiselle Nocturne

Sweet dreams my love...

Your Pc's in an investigation of a series of brutal, ritualistic killings have a run in with the local Demonhame. They fight thier way through to sub basement level just in time to interupt a magical ceremony of unknown means and effects. Needless to say the interuption costs many brothers in the room thier lives and weakens others as dark magics take thier toll, any survivors seem to have lost thier minds and die in thier sleep soon after incarceration. The battle is over shortly, even Demoiselle Noctune being defeated easily......the following night everyone in the city bar the pc who killed Demoiselle Nocturne is haunted by disquieting dreams, sleep is restless at best if not impossible. Twisted and perverted immages of loved ones haunt people, lovers threatened in thier dreams, even killed, by partners. The night terrors continue for days with but this one pc seemingly exempt....

The curse of Demoiselle Nocturne? Or have the pc's inadvertently unleashed something far worse upon thier home city...

Re: from little plot seeds, mighty games do grow: Share you ideas!

By the dark recesses of the web, I invoke the fell powers. Gates, Job and Palmisano, let this thread have life, anew!

:P

Anyway, I have a linked set here for all to shudder at.:eg:

Mechanon

Shadow of the Mecha-men.

Mechanon observes a broadcast of a new season/remake of a classic sci-fi show, "Prof. When", and on it notices a race of cybernetic beings that resemble him. At first he is outraged that the show depicts these beings as being human at their core, but realizes that these beings have been stripped of everything human. He also sees a chance to scourge the world of the infestation of man by elevating them to machinedom. Mechanon with a Messiah-complex!?!

1) Rise of the Mechamen.

The PCs hear reports that Mechanon has recently altered tactics drastically, taking great pains not to kill humans (serious harm, *shrug*, whoops). Instead, at all his attacks, he has selected one or two victims and abducted them. Authorities are at a loss to explain this radical change in behaviour, but are concerned over the potential ramifications. The PCs follow a lead to a remote facility (underground, in space, whatever) only to find several mutilated corpses, all with distinct evidence of cybernetic implants, grafts and replacements that bear a resemblance to Mechanon's components. Unfortunately, this lab appears to have been abandoned by Mechanon, leaving several converted half-borgs that are begining the conversion process on the last of the captives. If the PCs confront them directly, the cyborgs single out technological Heroes, especially cyborgs and robots with the warcry "Upgrade! We are still obsolete!" The PCs should be left with the conclusion that Mechanon has abondoned this grisly line of research. Until the hear that Mechanon has kidnapped Halfjack and Fiacho!

This could lead to a series of adventures where the PCs, Eurostar and Viper all are trying to track down Mechanon. Do they work together, are their shifting alliances, or do they all simply get in each other's way?

2) Attack of the Mechamen.

Mechanon has perfected his mechanisation technique, including the interesting earpiece control set. He secretly alters the staff of a personal music player factory, along with the company's board of directors, to begin manufacturing the control devices allong with a heavily discounted upgrade deal. "And for this month only, 50mb of free Mp3 download, with half price for the rest of the month!" By the end of the month, half the headsets in the country are from this factory. And all the while, subliminal suggestions have been reinforced in the users brain to wear the devices at a specific time. When that time comes, a preprogrammed signal will take complete control and guide them to a processing station (the distribution centers for the players) to be "upgraded." The PCs might notice this early, especially if they're the type that's immediately suspicious of corporations, or they may end up having to race the clock as people make their way to be upgraded. How can they stop this menace and is it limited to this city?

This could lead to man(mecha?)-hunts and round-ups, and possibly research into reversing the proceedure. Is this even possible, or is there nothing left of the human inside. Are any of the Mechamen friends or family members of the PC's?

3) Doomsday.

After several weeks of having to forcibly hunt them down and place them in hotsleep (if no cure is available), no one has seen or heard from the Mechamen, although many people are still missing from that fatefull day. There is little doubt, after analysis has been completed, that the Mechamen technology is based on Mechanon. Just as the world has begun to absorb that, a simultaneous overide of all the world's public communication's bands, and some military, are overidden with this signal. "We are the Mechamen. Resistance is futile. Humanity will be subsumed into a single Standard Operating Environment. You will be upgraded."

From that point on, you could have a running series of events where the Mechamen transmit their next target, Mysterion-style. Or you could have Mechamen cells being hotsleeped in caches around the world, ready to do Mechanon's bidding whenever he calls. The possibilities are endless.

And on a related note...

Viper

Viper TV

A nest leader hatches a brilliant plan to tap the R&D capabilities of other technological groups such as UNTIL, PRIMUS, ARGENT and the Warmachine to name a few. He starts up a front company that produces cartoon shows for broadcast, where some of the less sensitive ideas that VIPER has been having trouble with are incorporated into story plots, hoping that one of these groups is inspired by the shows to actually make the concepts work, then sends specialised retrieval teams to procure (steal) the prototypes and research materials. All the while, making a tidy profit off of the merchandising rights!

My last comment on Lord Liaden's Gravitar Thread sort of fermented in my brain, then this popped out...:D

Gravitar and Blackstar

Black Hole Son.

Blackstar and Gravitar begin a torid love affair, breaking into large diamond repositories, raiding ultra-high-tech research labs and other what-not, all the while engaging in genuinely witty banter. (Ala, Thunder and Lightning from 4E.) However, it doesn’t last and the two go their separate ways. Shortly after the PCs face off against the Ultimates, which ends in that team “going to ground”, the PCs are contacted by someone claiming to be Gravitar. If the PCs meet with her they find a very tired-looking Gravitar, who asks them for help in finding the father of her unborn child, Blackstar! It appears that their child has inherited their powers and is forming a gravity well inside Gravitar’s womb, canceling out the majority of her abilities. Do the PCs help her in this quest, as Blackstar is probably the only being on earth who can help her deliver the child safely, or do they take this opportunity to subdue one of the most powerful supervillains in the world while she is temporarily weakened?

A baby who's a living black hole? That prospect goes well beyond helping Gravitar or not. What kind of power will this child have once it's born? It could be incredibly dangerous whether that power is under control or not. What to do with it afterward could be a serious moral quandary.

Of course this just proves that in a world of superstrong people, there's a market for kevlar condoms.

I like this idea up to here. The rest seems a bit silly to me. Having Blackstar and Gravitar fly around the world on a bad boy/bad girl naughtiness spree could be very interesting, especially if the PCs are international as opposed to just national.

Also, with the PCs having been the last people known to have contact with the Ultimates, it makes sense for her to contact them, even if they're not internationals. Without that, it's just a minor variation on the Gravitar/Viperia shopping spree.

I'm just not a fan of the "unborn has mighty powers" idea, and I've seen it in HERO and in the comics. If she were simply pregnant, perhaps having difficulties and needed/wanted Blackstar's support during her pregnancy (and figured the heroes would be "required" to help her), then I could like it.
