Cancer
Re: "Neat" Pictures I'd handwave it away with episodic gaseous ejections. Several moons in the Saturn system have their leading hemispheres coated with unidentified stuff. Everyone suggests it's ring particles, but what if it's really ... Space Maggot Farts? austenandrews
Re: "Neat" Pictures Rubber science to the rescue! (Of course, I'll refrain from noting that the mass, though very compacted, could still be detected by the moon's influence on other bodies. And since the moon doesn't compute to be that massive, the mass must actually be gone. But since this is comic-book 'science', that can be ignored. ) You're discounting the very real possibility that Hyperion was originally made of cotton candy. Logan D. Hurricanes
Re: "Neat" Pictures Taking six years to build and costing around half a billion euros, the massive undertaking will connect Berlin's inland harbor with the ports along the Rhine river. At the center of the project is Europe's longest water bridge measuring in just shy of a kilometer at 918 meters. The huge tub to transport ships over the Elbe took 24,000 metric tons of steel and 68,000 cubic meters of concrete to build. The water bridge will enable river barges to avoid a lengthy and sometimes unreliable passage along the Elbe. Shipping can often come to a halt on the stretch if the river's water mark falls to unacceptably low levels.

keithcurtis
Re: "Neat" Pictures Some parts of it are almost certainly digital, such as the jewels and most of the type (but not all). As for the background painting, it's harder to tell every year. I doubt the background was done in anything but Painter is if was done digitally.
