Re: Friends, 1934

I think the guy who works at the coffee shop (the little guy with the blonde hair) should be a nazi sent to spy on their little enclave. Discovering that Phoebe may be 'psychic' and wanting that for his Fuerer' date=' he tries to kidnap phoebe, but accidentally grabs her pornstar/burlesque star sister instead who came into the coffee house looking for her.[/quote']

Gunther?

Re: Friends, 1934

Yes. Yes I am. Absolutely.

Oh, did you mean anytime soon? That's different. :o

;) Seriously, I'll try and take a crack at it soon. Just got a little too much RL happening right now...

No problem. Just let us know if you update them. Believe me... I just got through going through my girlfriend's son's Eagle Scout Project. Man... that was some stress, let me tell you... turned out to be much more than he bargained for... especially when you get the city council involved... and the park committee...

:ugly:

Anyway, keep up the great work.

Re: Friends, 1934

Dude' date=' this is cool! You are my BigDamnHero![/quote']

Always nice to meet a fan. :D

Credit where credit is due, tho: I did steal the original idea from JakSpade.

Okay, I updated the write-ups. (If anyone's interested, I can post the HD files once I've cleaned them up a bit.

Chandler: Changed his “must be the best†disad (which frankly I pulled out of my fourth point of contact) to “afraid of dogs†(C,M). Because that dropped the cost to 10 pts, I upped his "Distinctive manner...OF speech" disad to Concealable (rather than Easily Concealable) because he seems to have a great deal of difficulty NOT talking that way.

Joey: Dropped climbing skill to make room for seduction. Fleshed out his knowledge skills. Added a “Doesn’t think things through†disad.

Monica: Upped her strength to 15 just for grins, juggled her CON to compensate. Gave her “obsessive-compulsive†as a psych lim. (Can’t believe I missed that one!)

Phoebe: Upped her STR to 13 (darn these are some butch girls!), dropped block from her martial arts. Changed her entertainment world contacts to street contacts. Dropped breakfall & mimicry to make room for streetwise and survival. Changed her reputation into being mistaken for her burlesque-dancer sister (great idea!), and dropped the value of her public ID to compensate.

Rachel: Dropped her STR to 10. Made her society contacts an organization contact. Gave her a Psych Lim for having led a rather sheltered society life. (She was pretty naïve at the start of the show, right?) To balance the points, I decided her formerly-rich parents would still have some useful non-combat position, dropping the cost of that DNPC.

Ross: Added some specificity to his Hunted.

My biggest concern now is that I had made up some stuff about Monica having a bunch of street-level contacts from working in restaurants & speakeasies. But now that we've restored Phoebe's life-on-the-streets background (which I had forgotten about) Phoebe already has those contacts. Any suggestions for what kind of contacts Monica should have?

As before, all comments/suggestions welcome. Thanks again to everyone for the great ideas!

I think she can still have the contacts, it's more a matter of SFX and definition. Phoebe would know the pimps, the bookies, things like that. Rachel knows the hoity-toity society types. Monica would know the people who serve and work for them - the waiters at the mob club, the guy who caters for the society events, things like that. Backdoor access to both the worlds that Phoebe and Rachel would go in the front of.

Re: Friends, 1934

I have to admit, this post has brought a smile to my face.

The only contacts I can think that Monica would have would be the guy that was going to give her a restaurant if they could date. She turned him down, but it was funny.

Other tidbits that may come in handy, Rachel CANNOT cook. But Joey did like it. "Whats not to like? Jelly-good, Meat-GOOD!" :idjit:

Distinctive feature for Ross could be a small disformity of a broken nose, from the hockey puck that hit him in the face at a game while he was watching.

Perfect! That's what I was trying to figure, but couldn't sort it out. Thanks again! :hail:

Please post the HD files when you have the time.

Also may I use these write ups for a convention game??

And may I post the write ups on my message board?

I am VERY HAPPY to give you credit, but My local gaming guys would love this stuff.

Thanks

Re: Friends, 1934

This is a GREAT idea for a game and wouldn't you know it, there are EXACTLY six players in my gaming group. :)

Some thoughts:

If someone uses Gunther as a German NPC, Nazi or not, don't forget that Rachel (as well as Ross and Monica) is Jewish. Maybe Rachel's dad was a spy and Gunther has been sent to follow her thinking that she is in possession of some important intel or item. But of course he winds up falling for the daughter of his enemy.

There was a joking reference to the Soup Nazi owning a shop just down the street from Central Perk but Friends and Seinfeld really do exist in the same "universe". Phoebe's sister Ursula was a waitress in several episodes of the sitcom Mad About You with Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt. Paul's character was subletting his old apartment to Kramer who lived across the hall from Jerry. Helen Hunt and Leila Kenzle even appeared on Friends as their MAY characters and mistook Phoebe for her sister Ursula.

Re: Friends, 1934

Those are a few of his disads?!? Must have been some show...

:D

Well, that's just off the top of my head you understand. :) Yeah, there's no one quite like Jeff.

Steve:
(as Jeff returns from chatting up some babe) "How did it go?"

Jeff:
"She doesn't speak English, she's leaving the country tomorrow, I insulted her friend's breasts, and she thinks I collect women's ears in a bucket."

Steve:
"So by your standards, not half bad!"

Seriously, I think it's one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. Comparisons with Friends are inevitable, because it features 3 men and 3 women who live in a big city, but that's really about where the similarities end. But if you like British comedy and aren't easily offended (the BBC gets away with a lot more than the US networks can!) it's definitely worth a rental.

Re: Friends, 1934

The various things that his mother did to him were simply over the top.

Plus Jeff's legends and advice-

"The Melty Man" and the "Giggloop"

I haven't seen the American version, but I imagine it would be as bad as the US versions of Red Dwarf and Men Behaving Badly.

Jane is the female with as many weird things as Jeff in the series.

And I think I'll start another thread.
