ghost-angel
Re: Cost of Levels I personally disagree with the idea of not being able to Limit a CSL to provide DCV only, but then I suppose I could just buy +DCV; Nonpersistent for cheaper. prestidigitator
Re: Cost of Levels Which levels can be applied to a Dive For Cover attempt now? (In 5th it was just those with DEX, Movement & Overall) Same in 6E, except that I'm not sure whether we have Movement Skill Levels any more. Bummer if not. Maybe I'll do some searching. Note particularly that by default Skill Levels with Agility Skills do not work for DFC. It is an actual Dex roll, not an Agility Skill. There's a note that GMs could change things to consider DFC an Agility skill if they think it appropriate though. Top left of 6E2/C&A p. 87. prestidigitator
Re: Cost of Levels Movement Skill Levels 6E2 p32 Shame they didn't get put in with Skills properly. Ah. Whew! Good deal. Yeah, I would've preferred if they got lumped into the general Skill Level section, but oh well. Now, are Negative (Combat) Skill Levels still around someplace, under the RADAR? Heh. prestidigitator
Re: Cost of Levels Hmm. Change Environment may have taken the place of Negative (Combat) Skill Levels. Someone pointed out you now target CE at an individual target by default, as much sense as that makes. I guess I can maybe live with that, but I'd much prefer a different name if that's the default use.
IndianaJoe3
Re: Cost of Levels Hmm. Change Environment may have taken the place of Negative (Combat) Skill Levels. CE can negatively affect Skill or Characteristic rolls, but generally not Attack Rolls (except Range Modifiers). However, CV can (in 6e) be targeted directly with Adjustment Powers. ghost-angel
Re: Cost of Levels Yeah, good point - you don't need Negative Skill Levels. You just use Drain or Suppress OCV or DCV.

I'd have put the costs in, but I haven't bought 6e yet. I will hopefully be able to buy them in the next two days if real life doesn't interfere… again. Steve
Re: Cost of Levels Non-Combat Penalty Skill Levels existed in 5E, but I can't locate any discussion of them in 6E. In 6E, are they supposed to be constructed as Skill Levels with Limitations on them? Are they mentioned anywhere in the text of either book? In 6E, are they supposed to be constructed as Skill Levels with Limitations on them? This was clarified in The Valdorian Age, which introduced them as an optional rule. Also, might have been discussed in The Ultimate Skill, but i don't remember. prestidigitator
Re: Cost of Levels IIRC 5ER didn't say much about the use of PSLs for non-combat applications, but there might have been FAQ entries or answers in the Rules Questions board that disallowed it. Might be worth some searching. Hmm.
