Rapier
Re: The Archlich arises! See, now that looks so cool. The thought of fighting against the Tak-man is oodles of fun. It's just too bad you've got to do it in CO.
Lord Liaden
Re: The Archlich arises! Takky looks good for an undead horror' date=' but what's this 'ravenous werewolf packs' thing?[/quote'] Well, back in the Turakian Age Takofanes/ Kal-Turak had more than undead monsters serving him: dragons, demons, trolls, all manner of fell horrors. So it's not at all out of character for him. (And considering how many CO forum posters have claimed they want to fight werewolves, and even play one as a PC, this is probably a shrewd move by Cryptic.) Although CO Takofanes looks a lot like his illo from CKC, somehow he appears much more impressive. It sounds like Cryptic is making his coming a major catastrophic event in the MMO, which is no less than the Archlich deserves. Plenty of diverse minions to wade through to get to the Undying King, including the reanimated heroes who fell in the Battle of Detroit! But why does Canada have to suffer a "zombie apocalypse?" Wasn't it bad enough we were categorized as a "frozen waste?"

Zed-F
Re: The Archlich arises! Canada already has a zombie apocalypse going with Kigatilik being woken from his imprisonment/slumber, so this just makes it worse. More undead to play ten-pins with! (Well I suppose 5-pins would be more popular since this is Canada...)

BlackSword
Re: The Archlich arises! Neat way to do PvP in a Champions game: Beware the Zombie Apocalypse rising in Canada! Battle against zombies in PVP, but no matter what, do not fall there. Should you die, you shall return as one of the undead horde, bound to fight in Takofanes’ name. NestorDRod
Re: The Archlich arises! He's a lot less impressive when your players insist on pronouncing his name like he was a group of Mexican food enthusiasts. You mean his name isn't pronounced "Taco-fannies"? Huh. Imagine that. So much for my brilliant plan of defeating him using an industrial-sized jar of hot spicy salsa.

Mindscape
Re: The Archlich arises! While I look forward to the challenge of near endless zombies, werewolves, and other random scary creatures I find myself excited by the fact that they are already adding new power sets to the game. I also fear what kind of super-zombies we might have to fight, especially those that are PCs. Plus think of what happens if only some of your supergroup gets infected, the rest of the team most struggle against their former team mate and maybe search for a way to cure them...or maybe not. DusterBoy
Re: The Archlich arises! Takofanes has never been a favourite character of mine, but I like the way he looks here - just ready to kick a conex-full of sorcerous arse and turn everyone into zombie slaves. No zombie goodness for at least 983 years after that. If Champions Online is still running in 2020 I expect Cryptic Studios will modify that little detail. Heck, whoever owns the IP by that point can always do another world reboot.

If this is a special Hallowe'en event in the MMO that won't be repeated, I wouldn't be surprised if you got your wish. After all, Monster Island became a PnP book primarily because Cryptic had already created so much cool stuff for it.
