Pariah
Today is high stakes state-mandated standardized testing day. Of all the many things I enjoy most about teaching, this ain't one of them. Happily, I'm on the other end of the state celebrating our 17th anniversary and getting ready to go to Lady P's cousin's wedding tomorrow. Cancer, Ternaugh and Logan D. Cancer
Question 3. This question is about the outside reading that was assigned the first day of class and nobody did. Take a zero on this question and go to Question 4. Pariah

Cancer
I try not to intrude on their affairs, so I can't guess what the proportion actually is, averaged over all students. Clearly some categories of students are there more than others.

Logan D. Hurricanes
We had my dad's Zoom memorial today. One of the stories was from a costume designer saying that he once told her, "Academia is not art," and she fondly remembered arguing with him over that. Then she said that after 17 years teaching in academia, he was probably right. I was never privy to those conversations, but I can almost see them in my mind's eye.
