Cancer for the entire idea

I am not sure what is meant here by "throwing a spanner in the works." But I'll say that Inscissivus had the most surprising concept here. "Cutting" seems awfully abstract and narrow at first thought, but Old Man made it work.

There was a helpful list of real-life mythological and religious spheres of influence posted in the Fantasy Hero topic.  I deliberately chose a domain that wasn't on the list.

"Spanner" is British for "wrench".  And if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball...

Kylvn asks only that you have a coldly logical, dispassionate basis for your choice.

(I know what a spanner is. But throwing a wrench "in the works" usually has an implication of sabotage or other destructive disruption, at least as I've heard the expression used before. Most of what DT cites as spanner-throwing was perhaps surprising, but I wouldn't call it sabotage.)

Oh. I didn't get around to mentioning this before, but if anyone's interested: "Silentiary" is a real word, though obscure. It can mean a person who has taken a religious vow of silence; a court official tasked with maintaining order and quiet; or person under oath to keep state secrets. All are relevant, indirectly.

Hm. Having a deity speak first person has done well, but not when it's in blank verse. I'll remember that for next time. I can't be too vexed, though: Hermit did real good, a joy to read.

With the real-world chaos of trying to throw together an on-line course (in particular the labs) this year, I had less free time to think about this draft than the previous instances, and IMO it showed.  To my disappointment I did a repeat on health & healing as a domain (that was on the menu for my first of these drafts, too), though it did fit the meta-concept "take domains the humans really want".  I think I could have done better, much better, with the tardigrade race too, and just didn't have the time to do a good job; at least I kept up my string of races from different phyla.  The money-as-godbane concept was one of the first ideas I had after going the Mammon route, and it shows.

I had more fun this year. I had the idea for evil during last year' draft but I knew it could go wrong. i was waiting for someone to pick a city or settlement that I could then drop the swamp next door to. And then no-one did.  But the idea for addiction was an idea I had on the day. And that caused a ruckus. I also realised that it could be abused so I was careful ti figure a work around.

So Hermit wins this year with Old Man and Psybolt joint second.

Hermit is also credited with biggest spanner with Cancer and I joint second.

You're underestimating your work imo! The fact you arranged so the gods could get nickel and dimed to death was a brilliant spanner, and, perhaps I'm cynical, but the benevolent angle of your deity caught me off guard.

Yay. Thank you. This was fun for me as I got to borrow from Aesops, Just So tales, and homages to myths like Coyote, Anasai, and more which used to entertain me as a kid!

Congratulations to the other winners, much respect to ALL efforts (because this beats a lot of 'official pantheons' I've seen in some Role Playing Games) and , as always, much gratitude to any and all who voted for Fox.
