  1. Version 1.0.1 Available Hero 5th Edition Template (1.0.1) Available. Ultimate Martial Artist Plugin Available. - Christopher Mullins
  2. On page 299 there is a section just on Chemicals and severity of damage they do. All of them are considered Normal Damage NND (does BODY) attacks. - Christopher Mullins
  3. He used Heromachine. I recognize the poses. - Christopher Mullins
  4. The Template can be downloaded from the Free Stuff within the Other Software section. http://www.herogames.com/FreeStuff/Other%20Software/index.htm Any questions/bugs/comments just email me directly. Several things for clarification. 1) There are no conversion scripts for the Template. However, if you run a normal update it will convert "most things". Those things that don't convert can be readded. I know this doesn't help some of you, but the invitation is still open for anyone who has the courage to tackle the task. (8^D) 2) The Template uses a Beta version of Metacreator (Version 2.4.0 or Greater). Bruce was kind enough to make some special changes for me so I could get certain features to work in the Template. 3) Since this Template is "Compliant" with Hero 5th Edition and is not considered the "Official" software for Herogames, I have the freedom to include many "Bells And Whistles", and to leave much of the character creation very flexible. To that end, I've included an Optional Rules window and Customization window. These are usually changed/setup by the GM of the game in order to tailor the creation process closer to his House Rules. Enjoy. 4) The Help file is the same one from the Hero 4th Edition Template. I don't have the tools to create/change MS Help Files. However, I do have some other tools for creating PDFs, so I'll see what I can do to add a Help Document that is specific to the new Template. 5) Want new features or additional plugins, feel free to volunteer files or work, but unless I see a lot a people asking for something, I won't spend another 9 months working on something that only a couple of people want. I'll add to this list as necessary. - Christopher Mullins
  5. Lord Laiden, Why does your post remind me of Rolemaster RMSS? (8^D) Very well thought out. - Christopher Mullins
  6. This has been discussed before. I started a thread about how GM's define Magic in thier campaigns. This was couple of years ago so you won't find it now. Anyway, the GM has to decide if "Magic" is separate source of energy that Science can't produce, or simply Science being applied in a way not yet fully understood. If Magic is separate thing altogether, then Science can never tap into it directly. Only living entities can directly tap into the Magical energy an use it. Such entities might be rare or common depending on what kind of campaign the GM wants. This doesn't prevent a person who can tap into the magical energy from creating objects that can help direct or have magic imbued into them for future use. However, these items all require a person who can Tap the magical energy directly in thier creation. If Magic is simply a different field of Science with specific rules for tapping into it, then you can have normal people (non-magicians) create Magical Tools that can tap directly into that energy and use it. Magic Cars that run off of magical energy, etc... Does this help any? (8^D) Just My Humble Opinion - Christopher Mullins
  7. Awesome pic, Darkstar. How did you do the stonework? - Christopher Mullins
  8. Look in the Help files concerning the "Gradient Tool". You can email me if you want to discuss some of the techniques I use. - Christopher Mullins
  9. Steve, Costs Endurance Only To Activate is normally a -1/4 Limitation. Could this be applied to Constant Powers as an Advantage, possibly +1/4 or +1/2? - Christopher Mullins
  10. I tried to tell them not to do it, that it would cause confusion, but would they listen to me? Nooooooo.... Proper Acronym = 5th - Christopher Mullins (8^D)
  11. Hero 5th Edition - Page 162, BASED ON EGO COMBAT VALUE, Third Paragraph: "All BOECV attacks should do STUN damage only unless the character also pays for the Does BODY Advantage (see below) or has special permission from the GM."
  12. Depends on the CSL type that's purchased. The 2, 3, and 5 Point CSL's required they be tied to a specific type of action. An 8 Point CSL is not. Also the 10 Point Skil Level also can be used as needed. At the beginning of each character's phase the Player needs to assign where all his CSL's are going to be applied. These points stay assigned until the character's next phase. - Christopher Mullins
  13. Could some of you guys give me some examples of how Naked Advantages/Adders are calculated (AP/RP/etc...). Thanks. - Christopher Mullins
  14. I'd make sure the Player understood that they were about to break thier Psych Lim and that there would be consequences for the Character. If they are a good roleplayer, then they will usually have thier Character show the proper mental problems for breaking thier own code. If they are good enough then they may keep thier Psych Lim without much consequence imposed from me. If they aren't good roleplayers or want to get rid of the Psych Lim, then they suffer the consequences. Consequences: Player - Psych Lim eliminated. All experience points are used to pay off the Pysch Lim. No other expenditure may occur until the Pysch Lim is paid off and no points can be set aside for later. Character - Villians that know about the action will now change tactics concerning character. General populace opinion might change towards the character. How much reaction depends on the attitude of the Character when the Psych Lim was broken. Just My Humble Opinion - Christopher Mullins

  16. Re: Ancient Egypt Everyman Skills Couple of things to think about. 1) The Everyman Skills are supposed to represent what the "average" person would know by default. 2) During the time of Egyptian Pharoahs, as with most of history in different parts of the world, there were diffent classes of people. You status in the current social structure can have a drastic effect on what the "average" person would know within his class or status. Therefore, what the average Egyptian might know vs what a Slave or Servent might know by default would be different. - Christopher Mullins

  18. You beat me to it JmOz! I was thinking something similar. Make it an Adder to Entangle: Entangle Has Personal Key: +5 Points. The Entangle can be removed by the Character. The "Key" needs to be defined when the power is purchased. Entangle Has Universal Key: -5 Points. The Entangle can be removed by any character. The "Key" needs to be defined when the power is purchased. In addition the "Key" must be fairly obvious and/or common. Just An Idea - Christopher Mullins
  19. Whoops, sorry, I was only talking about Character Templates that Cybergames sold. - Christopher Mullins
  20. Yeah, I noticed that Steve wasn't very clear or that he wasn't getting the question. Basically, if you have two groups, those that mainly stay at the base, and those that adventure with you, then purchase twice. If you have a single group, with some that stay behind to maintain the base and roster rotates from time to time, then purchase once. The Character pays since they will be adventuring with him from time to time. Just My Humble Opinion - Christopher Mullins
  21. Re: Geezers unite!!! If you check out the "Superhero Images" thread under the Champions group, you will see quite a few of them and what people have done with them (myself included). - Christopher Mullins
  22. I was thinking the same thing, but I wanted to look up the description again before suggesting it. As it turns out, the Power skill might just do the trick. I can't be sure since I'm not sure exactly how Hero Points work. Anyway, if you need to do something different with your power (rarely, not a common occurance), then Power skill is exactly what you need. And since you pay for it once, you can try to do different things over time without having to continually spend points. However, it does have some restrictions to it concerning combat. See the Hero 5th: Power skill section. - Christopher Mullins
  23. Or purchase Metacreator (http://www.alteregosoftware.com) for a lesser price and get the Hero 5th Template for it for free. Either way you go, it makes things much easier for creating characterss. Although this Template is not "Offiicial" as far a Herogames is concerned, it is compliant with all the Rules of the 5th Edition. Note: You can get the Gamma release of the Hero 5th Template from me directly. - Christopher Mullins
