  1. Re: X Men Colossus and his Osmium Form Just a suggestion, I wouldn't worry overly much about the whole Rogue thing. We all know that it's going to change from writer to writer so you should either ignore it altogether or compromise. Give him a wee bit of Power Defense and call it a day.
  2. Re: Musings on Random Musings I give thanks almost daily that I don't live anywhere near a bell tower...
  3. Re: A Thread for Random Musings No more contract B.S. at work. Back to the normal B.S. Now, whether I have a job next year or not won't be known until June or July, but at least I get (some of) my life back.
  4. Re: A Thread for Random Musings My tummy hurts, there's nothing on TV, I don't feel like renting a movie, and I'm out of both ice cream and thin mint cookies. But, you know, it's all good.

  6. Re: Musings on Random Musings It was my understanding that Men At Work were part of the "Oz for Africa" benefit, technically a separate benefit than the "Live Aid"/Feed The World gig but scheduled to coincide with the US/England concerts. Men At Work wasn't even the first act of that benefit, but they were shown briefly during the Live Aid concert because their stage time coincided with the opening. But yeah, Live Aid is where I first heard of Quo, as well, followed by the Knebworth benefit in 1987 (which is a great double CD with the likes of Quo, Phil Collins, Eric Clapton, Robert Plant & Jimmy Page, and many others).
  7. Re: Musings on Random Musings Could be. Some of their early stuff is certainly psychedelic. Yep, that'd definitely be the word for it.
  8. Re: How would you simulate this power? Hey, I like the gradual effect CSLs, myself. Michael mentioned the Steel Ninja write-up so I thought I'd share.

  11. Re: Musings on Random Musings Does that include the web-based ICQ, too? http://go.icq.com
  12. Re: Musings on Random Musings As is most of their stuff, actually. I can't stress enough how much of a 'live' band this is--their studio work is good, but their live stuff makes the band, IMO. "Roadhouse Medley", "Rockin' All Over The World", "Whatever You Want", "Gerdendulla", "In The Army Now", "Hold You Back"...all good.
  13. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat "Damn, I can't believe I failed tomorrow's final again!"
  14. Re: Musings on Random Musings You should. Especially their live stuff. Their sound has evolved over the years and I definitely like their later studio stuff better than the early studio stuff, but if you can grab their live albums they're definitely worth picking up. Assuming, of course, that you like good ol' fashioned rock'n'roll without all the whistles and bells. They're a hoot to see live, too (twice now, for me). Here's their site: http://www.statusquo.co.uk/ Their fact sheet is a fun read, and really quite impressive.
  15. Re: Ole Bill would be proud I've never set out to kill a PC. I've only had a few die on me in all my years of gaming, and have had one of my own PCs killed (due to sacrifice, which later turned out to be but one of a couple options available, and the only fatal one--still, a good death). I think if it happens, let it happen. I won't go overboard trying to save one but I will give the player/PC every realistic chance to back out of a bad choice.
  16. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Is there anything for which Lord Liaden cannot provide a useful and relevant link to quickly? Man, that guy rocks.
  17. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat That's three. New topic, Doug.
  18. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat What’s this place called again? ‘Neverland’? “Hey, this rap music is pretty good.†Does this catch us up?
  19. Re: A Thread for Random Musings I've been asked to 'officiate' a funeral. I don't even know what that means.
  20. Re: Karathos Orb Maybe you should ask this in one of the "Hero System" forums to see if the Powers That Be have any plans to use the orb somewhere.
  21. Re: A Thread for Random Musings Mowed the front lawn and the side yard...it filled up my garbage can. Backyard still looks like an African savannah. I probably shouldn't wait a month to mow it, but I'm still a relatively new homeowner and a lazy bastard, to boot, so it's hard to get into the habit of yard work. Look cool in my do-rag, though
  22. Re: Past VIPER supervillians Each of the specific sourcebooks addressing the respective organizations has sections detailing their history. If you’ve read through that and haven’t found specific “supervillain†references, I’d recommend just making up some of your own. You could even make one or two of ‘em the fathers of modern-day heroes/villains (or even heroes!), or the sons/daughters of Golden Age heroes/villains.
