  1. Re: 350 Point Project Thanks, I'll add some of those this weekend. In the meantime here is one I wrote. He's the young racer from the CG Japanese animation Galaxy Force, called Cybertron here in the US. It's Clocker! http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/PDFs/CLOCKER.pdf
  2. Re: Shadowcats Vehicular Insanity Shop: 5th Edition X-Wing Fighter I'd hope for something like th Gunstar from The Last Starfighter.
  3. Re: Captain America Build 350 pts I was just reading the bio for the Marvel Transformers Iron Man toy, which mentions it's the only of the mechs that can fly in both modes, so that would imply the Captain America Hummer of Liberty can fly in robot mode. I guess I need to add that.

  6. Re: Captain America Build 350 pts Well, strength isn't just a raw number though, it's a fuction of body weight to lifting capacity. So maybe some characters can lift more weight, but it's because they themselves weigh more. Cap can lift x4 his body weight. In the real world the most powerful weightlifters can only lift about x3 their body weight. So cap's right at or exceeding max human. If some villian weighs 350 lbs and can lift x3 their body weight, that's 1050 lbs, stronger than cap, but still CAP IS STRONGER FOR HIS SIZE. Anyone making a character who weights 100 lbs, and has a STR 20, that character really is superhuman for their size.
  7. Re: Captain America Build 350 pts Why would Cap have a STR of 35? I believe in all official media it says he lifts about 800 lbs, which is about x4 his body weight. That's REALLY strong. a STR 35 is liftting 7000 lbs! STR 20 is 880 lbs. That's part of why I consider the whole 30 stat increase for normals to be annoying power creep. Since I write a lot of 250 point and 350 characters, I really do try to limit stats to more realistic levels instead of the standard super heroic levels. I don't write heroes with SPDs above 4 unless they have a reason to be superhumanly fast. I figure STR based on body weight - so if someone is athletic, but only weights 90 lbs (like Marvel Girl), I figure STR of 8 or 10 is good enough, since it's still lifting double their body weight. I don't care if Cyclops is a trained superhuman, his POWER is his blasts, so I limit his stats to normal human. It saves points, and keeps things real. So a Cap with all 20s is peak human.
  8. Re: Converting RIFTS to HERO Does anyone have a suggestion on how to handle invisibility and "see the invisible" from Rifts? Invisibility is easy enough, buy a common power many races have is "see the invisible." Is that a sense of invisible things? Armor Piercing on the sight sense? Something else?
  9. Re: Shadowcats Vehicular Insanity Shop: 5th Edition X-Wing Fighter I was actually tyoing with making the B1 Battle Droids for Hero Games, and then also making the Battle Droid/AAT Transformer. It's one of the few Star Wars Transformers that actually makes sense. A tank that turns into a robot. Another good one is General Grevious' droids who turn into starfighters. I like the DROID Transformers.
  10. Re: Shadowcats Vehicular Insanity Shop: 5th Edition X-Wing Fighter Good conversion, but you missed one thing... The rarely used ability to shapeshift into a giant Luke Skywalker shaped Mecha!
  11. Re: Captain America Build 350 pts I was working on upgrading my 250 point Captain America to a 350 point character, but doing it in a little bit different way. Besdies expanding his skills and abilities, I wanted to add in the new toy I got on clearance. The Marvel Transformers Captain America Hummer! So here is 250 point Cap - http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/PDFs/CAPTAIN.pdf and here is The Hummer of Liberty - http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/PDFs/HUMMER_O.pdf
  12. I was working on a conversion of Leonardo from the TMNT. It's based primarely on the original comic book and the Palladium RPG writeup - not on later TV or movie appearances. Trying to keep him a skilled normal, not a really super. Any suggestions or additions? http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/PDFs/LEONARDO.pdf
  13. Re: I'm building a gold dragon on 350 points I wrote a package deal for a 2nd edition young Gold Dragon in Hero 5th edition rulesa while back. It might be helpful. The whole package costs 365 points, but perhaps you could trim it up. http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/padragon-gold.html
  14. Re: 350 Point Project I'm updating my web site now to include a 350 Point Project section. If anyone has any links or material they want to donate, please let me know. Thanks! http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/champions.html
  15. Re: [Traveller Hero] What was it exactly? If anyone has that free PDF they gave away, please share. I'd like to see it too.
  16. Re: Question about "classic" Star Hero. Yes, I understand. The original Star Hero book was the 1st edition of Star Hero, and it was more or less compatable with Champions III. That manuscript from the Red October BBS calls it's self Star Hero 2nd edition, and it's compatable with Hero/Champions 4th edition. The most recent Star Hero book is compatable with Hero/Champions 5th. It's technically 2nd edition of Star Hero printed, but iy Just calls itself "Star Hero" again. Bright Future, made in 1997, says the following in it's text: Thanks to Hero Games, we have put together notes and outlines for the Bright Future world. With these notes, a gamemaster can run an adventure in the Bright Future setting, or take parts of the Bright Future world and drop them into an existing game of Star Hero." So I'd say it qualifies as an add-on (possibly the ONLY add-on) to the original Star Hero.
  17. Re: Question about "classic" Star Hero. If it uses 4th edition rules, it's still an add on to the 3rd addition module, since 5th edition Star Hero didn't exist yet. So that's cool. Thanks! Was Star Hero one of the last things released before 4th edition hit? Seems like it was and it would have been seen as almost instantly obsolete because of it.
  18. Did the original Star Hero (3rd edition) have any supporting material other than the main book? I haven't seen any Star Hero articles in anything (magazines, modules, etc) from before the 5th edition.
  19. Re: The Greatest American Hero Some character mentioned in this thead: Dynagirl - http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/csdynagirl.html Electrawoman - http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/cselectrawoman.html KITT - http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/cskitt.html Smallville's Clark Kent - http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/csclark.html
  20. Re: Looking for HERO stats for: "Bullseye" That's an easier approach I guess. Just say all the Apok's attacks are "holy" and demons take the VULN "double BODY from holy attacks". Maybe Apok's have a Change Environment to make their surrounding holy?
  21. Re: Looking for HERO stats for: "Bullseye" I fyou want an example of a power that is difficult to sum up in Champions rules, I'd look more to the Apok from Rifts Wormwood. Any weapon in his hands does double damage to demons. I'm still trying to figure that one out. Best I could come up with is a VPP with weird limitations only to add to the damage of an attack... but I mean a cannon fired by an Apok does double damage to Demons? How about a ship-mounted laser...
  22. Re: Classic Hero Characters updated (sorta) From Villainy Unbound - Master Villain, the magnetic mad man, the king of crime, and sultan of supers... Monopole! http://home.comcast.net/~mathewignash/PDFs/MONOPOLE.pdf
  23. Okay, I have been working out the stats for various Transformers, and I've moved to the Constructicons. I am in the process of writing up each of the individuals as 350 point characters. Eventually I'll need to write up Devastator himself. I'm not sure if Hero has official Gestalt rules that I can work with on this. The one I liked most that I found was the rules for gestalt VEHICLES from The Ultimate Vehicle book. I think I'd like to do the gestalt style where you make all the individual members, then make up the combined form with multiple mulitforms who all are made at once. Then the combined form has the physical limitation of being limited by his members (damage carries over, missing members equals missing limbs, etc). I didn't want to go the route of having one of the combiner members carrying all the points for the combined form, and having lots of duplicates. Any advice you guys can come up with? For instance each member has 14 Body (10 plus 4 from growth), and there are 6 members, should the combined form (9 levels of Growth) have 14x6 Body, or merely 10+9 body?
  24. Re: Palladium races to Champions rules. Sea Titans from Rifts World Book 7: Underseas Sea Titans are humans who were exposed to alien radiation, which turned them into minor supernatural beings who never age, don't breath, etc. They serve in the New Navy under Captain Nemo II. +17 STR - Cost 17 (+12 plus being supernatural) +6 Dex - Cost 18 +5 CON - Cost 10 +2 COM - Cost 1 +6 inches running - Cost 12 +4 inches swimming - Cost 4 Armor 3 rED/3 rPD - Cost 4 Regeneration 1 Body per turn - Cost 10 Life Support - doesn't age, eat, disease, vacuum/pressure - Cost 24 Power Defense - 3 points - Cost 3 Total Cost - 103 points
  25. If you have a Palladium games race you converted to a Champions rules Racial Package, please post it in this thread.
