Snow days were overrated, far as I was concerned.  Not like you could sleep in...because you didn't know for sure if your school was open until you heard over the radio.  So we were still up much too early and getting ready.

And in my case:  neighbors?  What neighbors?  At that time, we were in a mountain subdivision where the minimum lot size (out of necessity) was 2 acres;  we were, IIRC, the 6th home in the entire subdivision (a couple hundred lots total) and there were VERY few kids close by.

Nowadays, I think my local schools close down for a week over a snow flurry. Wish they did that in my day.

Baby Yoda is very cute, but he doesn't take centre stage too much, they mostly just use him for comic relief. Ewoks were cute but didn't need to be to fulfill their role in the story, and would arguably have done a better job if they WEREN'T cute. A bunch of badass forest natives who choose to help the good guys? Would have made for a better movie.

    Ewoks!!!!!!

Not to get too political but I've always had a problem with the "get out to vote, it's your civic duty" schtick which people roll out at election time.

No, it's your civic duty to be informed and interested.

It isn't your civic duty to go out and vote at random, vote for the person with the best smile, or vote for the person with the best slogan. Sure, you're free to do it that way if you want but it isn't your duty to do it like that.

Yeah, I always do to some extent briefly in the aftermath. But, it really has lingered. That voting is pointless, that I wasted my time being informed.

Dont worry, I will shake it off eventually, but it has really lingered this year, probably due to my feelings of all involved this time around

  4. Not to defend trump but I am seeing very little from some on the other side. Who seem to think, if they protest or celebrate the right cause they are somehow magically exempt from catching it.

I have gotten pretty sick of the lot of them. The rest of us who have actually followed the guidelines, are the ones who are suffering, and for nothing.

Yeah, I saw that.  Get used to it, the slope of the hockey stick is close to 20000 new cases a week.  And we're also averaging 1000 deaths per day.  Happy Holidays!

Yeah, and after 2 certain opposing groups decided to alternate weekends being stupid. I expect a spike in 7 to 9 days.

OK, then you explain it... :)

(I saw it on a clip from his Rose Garden talk, where he was blaming Cuomo for delaying vaccine deployment.  I'm going good GOSH, it makes him look radioactive...glowing white hair going with the glowing orange skin tone...)

Well, Cuomo was a complete incompetent.

    But, still 49 other states.

I decided to watch more intelligent things than what passes for the news....

  7. Probably not too bad, maybe. But, we have had a couple co-workers get it earlier on, that caused havoc. And since he is 79, bad heart, and diabetes, that is about as high risk as possible. I do call, but we arent exactly long phone conversations people. So, that only goes so far.

How can you hate anything with that soundtrack from Queen and Brian Blessed yelling...”Gordon’s Alive!” ?

Does Brian Blessed ever not tell, though?

First can someone correct the title to say world instead of workd ? It is distracting.

Second is the article comparing Flash to films of the same period or is it comparing it to things like the current Marvel Cinema Universe films ?

I can say that the 1980s Flash Gordon has one thing in common with the first Avengers film. I can happily rewatch either. They are like, for me, The Battle of Britain, Star Wars A New Hope or The Great Escape. You can just sit back and watch them repeatedly.

With Flash Gordon, I get the feeling a certain princess is a big factor for you.

    Just saying

Unfortunately my sympathy isn't worth much.  And as I'm watching the third wave of this hit, I wish we could have done this right the first time... but what do I know.

Yeah, I do get worked up over it. Haven't seen my dad since March for the risk to his health, and at this point, I dont really expect to again.

And on matters like that my 5 stages tend to linger on anger  and reverts back several times.

But, I do thank for the sympathy, in any case.
