(If aliens aren't known in the player's original world, but they find out aliens do exist, the might be able to creatively use this information somehow.) KING LOUIS XXXII ASSASSINATED!! NAZI'S DROP 'SUPER-BOMB' ON ENGLAND!! (Since the press wouldn't have known about the atomic bomb yet.) TITANIC SETS TRANS-ATLANTIC SPEED RECORD!! ARCHDUKE FERDINAND NARROWLY ESCAPES DEATH!! ROSS PEROT WINS PRESICENCY AS THIRD-PARTY CANDIDATE!! (His first official act to fire Congress and replace them with a more capable national 'board of directors.') You get the idea.

Re: Magic depending on the country I played in a D&D campaign where, based on the language the spell was inscribed in when it was learned, different effects occurred. There was a current language where things happened as they did from the book, and then four other languages that effected the spells learned from that language. One set would increase the effectiveness of the spell, while another would make the spell harder to resist/dispell. You could only roll to learn the spell once, so if you couldn't learn it in one language, you couldn't learn it at all, but it did make searching for a spell a bit more interesting.

Re: Need a new game I've enjoyed Dungeon Seige. You start with a basic character, and can build him up, based on how you use him (spells, archery, hand weapons). You can also recruit other NPC's, and you can build them up however you use them also. You follow the linear story, but there are things outside the course you follow that are interesting to find.

NT: You're a crew member on the space shuttle, when all of a sudden you make first contact with an alien. Being a natural comedian, you immediately think of some funny way to warn the earth of the extra-terrestrial visitors. What do you say?
