  1. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat The players refere to the campaign as less 'cyberpunk' and more 'cyber-easy listening." NT: How advertisements for the product of your choice would read if 'truth in advertising' laws were extermely tough.
  2. Re: Alien Race Idea: Maniraptorians Nice site. Thanks for the link.
  3. Re: L.A. Caveman They would probably soon succeed. Look at prior successful caveman in modern times: Captain Caveman (and the Teen Angels) Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer (ah, Phil Hartman, how we miss you).
  4. Re: Horror Hero: Cliches to Avoid The cliche I've always hated is the uncaring police officer. This si the small town sheriff who blows off any teenagers who try to tell him about the monster in the woods, or the murder and/or dead body they just saw, with the claim that they're making up the story and lying, despite how sincere and worked up the teens are, and whether they are the types of kids who would make up such a story. If an adult comes in with the same story, the sheriff may (relucatntly) go and check the story, but it will only be a half-hearted search, and the officer will easily miss any clues besides a corpse dripping blood and a sign saying "monster this way."
  5. Re: Night of the Living Dead Hero Plot Ideas These are Great! Just the kind of idea "sparks" that I was looking for. Especially #3. Keep 'em coming.
  6. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat I would lik to thank you for this award. This is definitely going to help me get girls! (turning to the presenter) Hey, I just won this award. Wanna go back to my place? NT: Signs your business presentation on your companies new product to the board of directors isn't going to go over well.

  8. Re: Help with alternate U.S. history? The first question you have to ask in determining this is: Why did the various regions of the country suddenly break away? We have had presidents assassinated before, and while things have gotten sectarianism before in the country, no one has seriously done anything to break away. I can see that if one part broke off, other regions might have joined the stampede out of the union, so having five instead of just one or two small sections can be believable. But you need to have a reason why one region actually did split, and why the others felt leaving was a better option than staying. Also remember that if the break point in history is relatively recent, that there are going to be people who remember a single country. This is going to color how people view certain events. Some will be glad this happened, while others will be bitter about events. Remember, WHY things happened is going to influence what follows.
  9. Re: Night of the Living Dead Hero Plot Ideas Thanks for all the great information! I don't have regular access to the internet right now, so my responses are kinda slow (depends on when the boss stops into the office). I'll be sure to check out all those sites.
  10. Okay, this last weekend I was watching Night of the Living Dead. This was because I had recently finished reading The Zombie Survival Guide. I got to thinking that this would be a good setting for a short campaign. The characters are going to be heroic level characters. As they are supposed to be normal people (and are encouraged to base the characters on themselves), I am going to keep an eye on the builds (no super-ninja's or anything like that). The plot would start well into a strong infestation, when things really start to collapse. There will still be pockets of humans running around, and society has only recently begun to really fall apart (food shipments slow down then stop, power goes out, etc.). The meta plot would involve the players trying to get to a "safe place." What exactly this will be I have not defined. I'm thinking a prison, since they are already designed to be hard to get into, but that can always be changed. Anyway, it hwill be far enough away to make the trip interesting, but not so far that the trip is too risky. As a side benefit, if the campaign is going well, things can always be shaken up to continue on with the game (the place was overrun, someone else has taken over and won't let the players in, etc.) What I'm looking for are some ideas for single game session ideas. I already have the meta-plot worked out, as well as the first several adventures (scrounging and supplying, checking for survivors, hints and rumors of a nearer "safe place," etc.) Any ideas you can come up with will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
  11. Re: Life Support: Longevity? Battlestaff was immortal, but it was part of his concept. He and his twin brother (who was later revealed to be Daimon Harrington from 4th Ed. DEMON) were both immortal beings. They were part of a long line of immortal twins destined to struggle for good and evil for all time. Nght Owl has a couple of points for flavor.
  12. Re: Fun Champions Resource Thanks. Interesting site. And I found I had been mispelling how a cat purrs all this time!
  13. Re: NGD Scenes from a Hat "Happy Birthday from Mr. G. Reaper! Remember how you always complained that birthdays just meant you were one year closer to death? Well, you don't have to worry about that anymore!" NT: Pet peeves you would like to see outlawed, and the extreme punishment you feel that violation deserves

  16. Re: Practical Costuming (not quite a WWYCD) Great video. Though I did find myself thinking that you could get a similar effect from a traditional nun outfit (whimple and all).

  22. Re: Campaign Launch: What Would You Think? Of course, the government would already be doing all it can to find out who the Hero is. They would be analyzing ALL available video footage of the Hero, and gleaning what they can from it. Through analysis they could probably get an idea of his height, weight, hair color (you said goggles, not a helmet), race, approximate age, general build, and any other identifying physical characteristics. THey would then be using this to narrow down potential names (which would still be in the thousands, assuming this guy was from NYC itself) through analysis of records (such as driver's license information, health records, etc.) They could then mobilize manpower to start to narrow down some of the names. Just an idea. As a final note, has anyone in the press come up with a "hero name" for the Hero?
