  1. twisted That's just twisted. The parents are obviously involved..........she's FOUR years old. Immediately arrest the parents and charge them with the murders of everyone of the models/actresses who were changed. Remove the girl, gently, from the situation and place her in a foster home and intensive therapy. If there's any way to revert the change, obviously, return the dolls back to people. If that can happen, hold the parents without bond, until every criminal charge that MIGHT apply can be leveled against them. Also, any money, assets that the family garnered from this twisted crime should be frozen. Possibly placed in trust for the poor abused girl. For the more amorous heroes, as the models are reverted to normal, make sure they know who arranged their freedom.
  2. character image So Blue is "Enigma" just another way to say "I got nothing". Cool pic, though. Several people have expressed interest in my character Zero, and his Omni-Suppress power, so I went back and Computer colorized the B&W line drawing. It's not as fancy as the Cavalier pic, but tell me what you think. I'm using a program called Micrographix Photomagic 4.0
  3. rarity Good luck finding a copy. I've played Champions since it began, and only seen ONE copy of Strike Force. And my friend owns it, and WONT part with it. As far as updating the characters.............anyone with enough patience could, but what would the champaign characters be in for? The Strike Force characters were very powerful, didn't they have a 2nd team of heroes or something, JUST TO WATCH THEIR BASE!!!!!!!! I could be wrong about that, but that's what I seem to remember. I imagine that it would be a very high powered campaign.
  4. attorneys and insurance adjusters I'm not sure who the greater evil is. I'd have to say the Insurance Adjuster, after all, just about everyone knows what to expect from an Attorney. The idea of corporate backing or even government support is attractive, but difficult to realize. The first time a hero or heroes do something that incurs the negative publicity of the media, their funding is cut, or they're censured. I did set up a "Corporate Hero" perk that provided many benefits, but the Group was not Directly connected to the major corporation. The group was it's own Non-profit organization, receiving funding from many sources without having to answer to any government or political group directly. This also motivated them to present a positive public image and do a great deal of community work to ensure their continued funding.
  5. character images Blue, Sketcher or not, I am amazed at the shear volume of your posts, And I really appreciate the variety of color you use in them, regardless of whether or not they're computerized color.
  6. Dynamic Duo? Bengal, Zero and One could be the next amazing team. "The Amazing BINARY Agents",................ sorry, I thought of that at about 4 am.
  7. mark williams lemming, thank you for posting Mark's bio. It's too bad that he died so young.
  8. awesome nostalgia That's really cool. I've looked for a copy of Temporal Fugue for a long time. Thank you for posting the write up.
  9. hero on the cover That's cool, someone with an actual intact 2nd Edition Box set. It's sad to here about Mark Williams. Does anyone know what happened? If it's not rude to ask. I really appreciated all the artwork of his from the early Champions books.
  10. further definition Removing the No Range limitation from the Powersense and Suppress pushes up the point cost to 39 at 6D6. Down right affordable................and as far as I know, again being the FReD novice, Suppress has the standard rules just like any other projection power, so it would have some type of SFX. I think that really depends on your own personal Gaming Universe and what the players and GM decide, you know, house rules for lack of a better term.
  11. power progression Levi, that's just about how I have the power working. The only exception is that Zero must strike the opponent, not just mearly touch the target. Hence, no Damage Shield, but I like the idea. My rustiness and lack of concrete FReD rules is showing, I was unaware of no maximum cap on the Suppress. If that's the case the power could easily be toned down, and the character could "chip away" at their opponent. I didn't want to play around with anything like "No Conscious Control", it sounds appropriate, but it takes the activation and effectiveness of the power away from the Character and places it in the control of the GM. The Suppress varies per target, but it is a Deliberate, Controlled attack. Snarf, the Detect does have a discriminatory element, even if the character is unaware of it, at least on a conscious level. SO........... 6d6 Suppress, (30) Any one inborn power or attribute one at a time (+1/2) Only to suppress the power detected by Powersense (-1) (30)x(1+1/2)=(45)/(1+1)=22 plus Powersense: Detect Power or Attribute with largest Active Point Cost; Sense, Discriminatory, passive. (15) NO Range(-1/2) = (15)/1 1/2 = 10 Total cost: 22 + 10 = 32 points. also......... 0 END (+1/2) The first version I created with the power, my character could just about take out the other opponent, then collapse from exhaustion. Also, as a character device(and to marginally reduce the cost of the power: No Range (-1/2) also......... Only effects inborn abilities (-1/2) This value could change, or not be allowed at all, but in a technology heavy game, this would be a true disadvantage. Totals (30)x[(1)+(1/2)+(1/2)] = 60 / [(1)+(1)+(1/2)+(1/2)] = 20 SO....... 20+10 = 30 The SFX for the original power was a flash of Green energy upon a successful strike between Zero and the target, followed by a slight nauseating weakness felt by the target.
  12. first try SUSCEPTABILITY: Not Draining Life Force Suffer Drain STR 2D6 + Drain CON 1D6 per turn when not feeding once per hour. Common 15 pts., per Turn +5 pts., STR 2D6 +5 pts., CON 1D6 +5 pts. Total: 30 pts. ENRAGED: When taking damage from Susceptability Uncommon 5 pts., Become 11or less +5 pts., Recover 11 or less +5 pts. No Range (-1/2) Must have skin to skin contact (-1/2) (49)x(2) = (98)/(1 1/2) = 65 pts. END BATTERY 50 END, 0 REC 5 pts.
  13. Can anyone help? I'm updating some old characters, some as old as 2nd ed. Champions. Anyway, I want to recreate a character who is a pseudo-vampire. He was an alchemist's apprentice who became the unwilling subject of the alchemist's experiment on immortality. It involved a vampire, and the result ended working but the character needs to "feed" on life force, not blood. He must touch his victims, and can feed on many people, not necessarily killing anyone. He does have problems controlling his hunger. I looked at Dependance and the Addiction sublimitation, but I am not really satisfied with my results. If anyone has suggestions, I would appreciate it.
  14. good beginnings Good background, the set-up is orderly and the PC's should have a clear direction to take the adventure. That's a good amount of detail for only your second adventure written. Good job, keep writing.
  15. power construction Bengal, Your welcome. I don't have too many people around to throw different ideas at. With FReD, I really question some of the things I come up with. If there are other ideas you have, please post them, maybe I can help, or be enlightened by someone with a better knowledge of FReD.
  16. Omni-suppress Great start.......my version is with 4th ed., and I'm still fuzzy with some of FRed's rules, so I apoligize if I violate some game mechanic that I'm unaware of............ 12d6 Suppress, (60) Any one inborn power or attribute one at a time (+1/2) Only to suppress the power detected by Powersense (-1) plus Powersense: Detect Power or Attribute with largest Active Point Cost; Sense, Range, Descriminatory, passive. (60)x(1+1/2)=(90)/(1+1)=45 Total cost: 45 + 15 = 60 points. also......... Totals (60)x[(1)+(1/2)+(1/2)] = 120 / [(1)+(1)+(1/2)+(1/2)] = 40 SO....... 40+15 = 55 Sorry, told you it was expensive. Obviously, the level of the Suppress can be weaker or stronger, depending on the effect you want. At 12D6, this puts a serious damper on your opponent.(average of 42 active points)
  17. Omni-suppress Originally posted in Superhero Images on 12-28-03: This is: Zero. He's a middleweight MA with one power, a Omni-suppress, to shut down his opponents strongest ability. (see pg 88 for image) Are you just trying to figure out how it works? It's an inborn ability, it has no effect on technology. And it's EXPENSIVE .
  18. who am I? Somehow, I'm not surprised....................I am almost always the leader in my gaming groups and most of my social activities. I'm always tortured about not doing enough to help those that I have been able to. Sound similar to a certain tortured leader?
  19. turtle soup? I liked the idea of the duplicate radio signal. So, would it be cruel and unusual to have a weather-based hero heat up a local fountain to boiling temperatures and dangle the Turtle just above the water threatening to slow cook if he didn't change his ways?
  20. character image OK, this is the ABSOLUTE last time I'll post this character. Taking a clue from Lemming and RPMiller, I found a sky background for my Cavalier pic. And tada...........I've finally finished my first all computer colorized picture. Tell me what you think for a first-time amateur. Postscript: To not bombard the page with repetative images, I've deleted the previous posts of this picture.

    Justify this

mental? I really liked Lord Laiden's suggestion: Psychokinesis is a common power set for mentalists. In this case the character can psychokinetically strengthen the attraction between the atoms of his/her body, causing their volume to compress. If you're worried about the character's mass, you could say that a side effect of the intense psychokinetic field is to mildly repulse all other nearby matter, effectively countering the effects of greater density. But you didn't specify if the character retains his/her original mass, if that's the case, then the appropriate amount of Density Increase should be bought, linked to the shrinking. Right?
  22. JSA vs. Avengers Well, just from the volume of members available from both sides, this battle could lay waste to an entire planet. I think I'd go with the Silver Age JSA though............they seemed like the first real "Superteam".
  23. character images Well, that's a bunch of my pictures of my Champions and other characters. Those that regularly post, tell me what you think.
  24. character images This is: Zero. He's a middleweight MA with one power, a Omni-suppress, to shut down his opponents strongest ability.
