  1. duo's EVEREST AND JENNINGS EVEREST - A growth themed brick, idealistic patriot working for the government. JENNINGS - An amoral, casual killer Energy Projector. Themed as the "Wheelchair" company, for being very effective leg breakers. Eventually, the idealistic EVEREST went his separate ways, not being able to cope with the casual malice of his partner, JENNINGS. The resulting HUNTED, providing a good sidebar fight when the adventure bogged down.
  2. missing Well, I agree with the majority of the posts. Most of the Assenos or whatever their name is could gladly depart. I did like the Maine though, I like "themed" characters, it separates them from the generic masses. I also miss Death Commando........my first hunted supervillian, and the first supervillian with a gadget pool, if i remember correctly.
  3. comments I like the overall character, good well rounded combat monster. A good representation for a video game. I have ONE problem.............CvK...........especially for a character pulled from THAT game. But overall, nice, clean, neat job, but does he know how to interact with anything but his fists and feet. A PC would probably be a bit more well-rounded, especially at this point level. I would suggest about 10 to 15 points of Social related skills. Well, that's my 2 cents........
  4. bricks tricks Nice build, good addition for a bricks tricks MP.
  5. character posting Thanks Lemming,
  6. character image Thanks for posting the picture, Lemming. So what was I doing wrong?
  7. hdc file and image questions Here's the HDC file. Lately, I can't view the images on the screen. Just a small icon for where the picture is supposed to be. Am I doing something wrong loading it up, or has the site changed?
  8. image and hdc file This is an updated picture of my character, Polaris. And shortly following this post, the HDC file. Hope you like, your comments are welcome and appreciated.
  9. two aspirin in the morning........ Lord Liaden, I appreciate a complicated build that skirts the rules as much as the next player or GM, but........ Thank you for the low tech solution to a simple question...
  10. recruiting? I once had an idea for a brick character, caught in such a dicotomy of purpose. He was part of a government tandem, similar to your scenario. Unfortunately for the agency, he was too ethical, and moraled. As a bad joke, his name was Everest, his partner was "Jennings".(At the time, I worked in a nursing home, and the idea of a couple of government legbreakers with those names struck me as funny) Anyway, he was a true "boyscout", brick with growth powers. In his final incarnation, he was quite powerful, topping out at 100 STR when fully "grown". I would be interested in hearing more about the PBEM, and the scenario.
  11. with friends like these............. Sounds like a fun idea......... That being said, your liason should probably be an experienced player with a thicker skin.......it's just a game, but players do have a tendency to get PERSONAL. Any possibility of it being a PBEM game........ That would present the easiest way to "separate" the players, and not cause a great conflict.
  12. Does size REALLY matter? Orginally posted by KillerShrike: The quality, not the quantity, has always been more important. Not everyone has to be an excellant gamer, just be able to bring something original or uniquely their own to the table. If you're the GM, experience and your ability to multi-task will probably have a dramatic effect on number of players you can handle and still provide a creative, challenging, and rich environment for your players.
  13. character image and profile I updated the background on my Cavalier picture, with a brighter skyline. I also attached the Herodesigner character. He's 5th ed., 350 base, and some experience. Tell me what you think.
  14. intelligent swords I had a character, "Vengence", way back in 1988. He had two swords, Judgement and Punishment. Judgement always led. The swords were built as characters themselves, stats and all. They were completely interactive with their weilder, and had high enough Egos and Mental Defense that not even Menton could sway their purpose. The simple focus with Computer AI is a good mechanic, but will it really allow the swords to be truly "sentient" or capable of manipulating the weilder?
  15. side effects? Side effects sounds like an interesting idea. I'll have to play around with it to determine how much I can "modify" the character based on her magic use. It does sound like an "ugly" build, but a Multiform sounds interesting...............a basic template of the same character, but drastically different based upon grand uses her power altering her universal perception, disads, etc.......sounds like a challenge, but I like it. Thank you all for your input...........oh yeah, only the good half likes milk, the other, beer in her corn flakes..........
  16. I've come up with an idea for a mystical character. The character casts "white" or good and "black" or bad magic. The use of it directly effects her psyche. I thought of a VPP, with an AID linked to add EGO when she uses "white" magic, and an automatic Susceptability that Drains Ego when she uses "black" magic. The resulting shifts would directly effect her disads, personality, etc. Is this a plausible idea? I would appreciate your ideas of how to work out the mechanics on this. Thanks.
  17. submissions Thank you, if I did it right the first submissions should be there already?
  18. media event POLARIS - would definately encourage the date. He would take the opportunity to get to know the Superheroine. At the same time, he would try and foster a Contact with her, and her team, if possible. He would match whatever funds that the Superheroine bid, donating it to the same charity. If the Superheroine wanted a quiet intimate setting or a media event, he would be more than willing to go along, even if it only involved heavy lifting. Hopefully with an 18 COM and 40 PRE, he would leave a positive impression on her, her teammates and the public.
  19. submissions RPMiller- Thank you for the input. Hopefully, I'll send the material to the right person(s) for review. D. R. Rushing
  20. artist for hire? Blue- I have really enjoyed your posts and your comments, you are one of the few who have really participated in the spirit of the thread. After reading numbers of posts, it seems that about 15 individuals, yourself included, are either friends or friendly acquaintances of the Hero Staff. Every artist has a certain amount of ego, myself included. I do recognize some distinct limitations in my creative process(like my difficulty colorizing pictures). But, I do think with some determination and practice that I could provide quality work for anyone interested. If you know how to go about submitting work for Hero, or working for one of the "studios" that provide work to Hero, I would appreciate your input.
  21. character image This is my latest work, just starting to colorize it. It's my rendition of a PBEM character in our group. "Geena"
  22. villian image I don't have an image ready, but I do have an Idea..................... Going with more "combat ready" clothing, make the outfit either "X-Men, movie like, or "Matrix" like. Add as a long coat or shawl, something that would just touch the ground. On the bottom half of the coat, make it an American Flag, that way the "Ex-patriot" is dragging the American Flag on the ground. And before someone goes pyscho, no I don't mean any disrespect to our country, I'm a former Marine. It just occurs to me that one of the most insulting, non-violent ways to disrespect any country would be to drag it's flag in the dirt. OK?
  23. candiru OWWWWWWWWWW............. so would that be an AP, Penetrating, or NND attack, or some combination of all three?

ignore "See what, where, WHERE?" (feeling strangely compelled to look the other way.........)
  25. health care Now that we're completely off thread. I'd just like to add that treatment options are available. It's tragic that Mark did not seek help sooner. My mother, R.I.P., did a similar thing(she was afraid of doctors)and avoided treatment. The resulting breast cancer eventually claimed her life. During treatment, she was required to take this drug, NO I don't know the name, it was kept in the refrigerator and she had to take it once a week. She was GIVEN one dose per week from her doctor. I came to find out later the medication was $1800 a DOSE. There are options, for anyone, regardless the price. The important thing is detection. I will always feel a loss without my mother and Mark Williams was a tradegy, but the truth is that they could have been helped sooner, if they had taken responsibility for their own health. Oh, and one other note, if I ever win the Lottery, I AM STARTING a Cancer foundation in my mother's memory. O.K. I'm climbing off the soapbox now............
