  1. Re: VPP active point costs The entire construct is ridiculous and has no value for this conversation. As a GM I would say that you are barred from VPP's for a lifetime, after giving mich such a nonsense power.
  2. Re: LoS versus Continuous LOS is how you target. Continuous is how long your Power works (and if it costs endurance). Having to use another attack action to affect the target vs. just paying endurance and having your full phase seems a big difference. Unless, the rules differe that much from 6E.

  6. Re: Superhuman women less attractive in 6th Edition? There is the rule to modify when the breakpoint occurs and what the basic throw before +Characteristic/X is. But this seems to be part of the overall scale for 3d6-based bell curve. The only way to solve it properly would be to decouple Heroic and non-heroic Games in all aspects (especially Roll Modifiers/Roll calculation), but that would be unfeasable.

  8. Re: 6th Edition Brick This Thread is out of buiseness for now. The gm deceided he didn't want another player anymore and the only other 6th edition game on herocentral still seeking player is a Dark Champion-Setting, and from what I understand about it I doubt she would fit there. I still have her and I am certain I will find a place to play here somwehere, some day.
  9. Re: Superhuman women less attractive in 6th Edition?
  10. Re: VPP active point costs So, that is a problem of the build he made. When he thinks he needs the limitations and then complains about how useless his vpp is in battle, i'd say it's his own design that makes it less usefull in battle. He can talk to his gm if he could take a 90 AP VPP, with not combat changeable powers. But that is the same question as asking his gm to allow a heavily limited 90 AP Blast or a Special Power in a framework: "Do my limitations allow me to override the guidelines in this chase?" But I understood that he complained about the general uselesness of a high point VPP in Battle, not about the uselessness of his.
  11. Re: The Birthday Suit Boogaloo? You mean, he can't really hit him or the other is way better protected? (counting in availible attacks) The enemy gets bonus for a Presence attack for being at an advantage.
  12. Re: Superhuman women less attractive in 6th Edition? The main problem with the IQ is that is only tells you the relations. It's re-calibrated every once or while so that 100 (+/-30*) is in fact the average person: about 95% of the population. Actually it isn't even a quotient anymore. The original was (it was Intelligence Age/Life Age*10), but that one is discarded. About the stupid things: I guess that would be EGO to overcome your minor complications, since they ignore what is Intelligent too. the pushing weightlifting: i might allow it with an EGO roll. It may not be saving the world, but it may not be less important for the lifter *They say the standart deviation(SD) is 15, but this may mean something different than +/- 15, as they in fact give the range with 70 to 130.
  13. Re: Multiple Man attack If you do want the benefits, here is what running/flying discerns from teleport: Your moving weight is determined by STR, not your bought mass times X (sounds fitting). You can add your running to STR for the purpose of stopping cars, breaking entangles, moving things (sounds unfitting, unless you say some minor duplicates help you). You can be stopped by a barrier placed in your way. Actually, consider a side effect for your running improving the enemys odds, as he may clearly sees where your path is (unless the is always only one duplicate, the next one). You are succeptible for the grounds effects: You can't run on watter (flying only in contact with surface is used fot that) and are affected by slippery ground. It think that were all of them, or did I miss anything?
  14. Re: Need suggestions for KH character A more generalized view of the above might be: Start with a thief/Rouge. Lower his values for that role towards warior and invest the points in better Fighting and a small, intelligent/trainable, flying ally/follower (could have died shortly before joining the group). He and his group may need a strong reason to stay togehter, as he is a lot of trouble for them and he is not used to travel in such a large group/with beings other than his ally/follower, unless for a job. So a long term job might be a good way (worked for Ryudo) to start.
  15. Re: Strenght Feat It's official ruling, 6E1 43. STR vs STR is mentioned explicit. The others usually use their 9- + Value/5. When they are used in similar fashion (I think AGP I has rules for Entangle vs. INT), then they might use the rule from STR for that to. But that can only sombody with the book tell you. Casual Rule aplies to any power and just defines how much of it you can use without wasting an action (breaking a window, breaking a grab/entangle, heat-vision out of an entangle).
  16. Re: Superhuman women less attractive in 6th Edition? So, that is the real world. Are we still talking about superhumans that can lift 6.4 tons with only twice the Human maxima? Also, Steve Long already mentioned that the lifting scale may be of for "low fantasy". He says it should be closer to 400 at 30 STR and scale down from there (6E1 43, toolkitting the strenght table). So the same thing may aply to human IQ too, just that we are on the "low fantasy" end with our IQ-Tables and Records. Also, there is one mayor thing about IQ: It is based on the average of the humans. The bell curve is recalibrated every greater test cycle, so that the humans tested fit into exactly that scematic.
  17. Re: The Birthday Suit Boogaloo? One problem here: When a COM roll would not be allowed (wrong target interest), it doesn't help at all. Distracting Costume, I know I have heard of it somewhere. That an interesting use of sexy PRE-Attack in Battle. But i don't know if it is that helpfull with the only once per scene
  18. Re: Why there is no Gulo Gulo in bestiary(ies)? That's a lot of STR (or tunneling) Strongly focussed. For the fearlessness, I think an EGO Bonus aplies best. Afaik the green Latern build from hyper-man has "Fearless, +30 EGO only against Fear". Of course, it depends on the fact if you have Fear based PRE-Attacks countered by EGO or PRE. When they latch onto poeple the way dogs do, it may be a Grab. I wish I had my D&D books here, could take a look what they did about them (I know, different system. But similar in-game tactics for animals).
  19. Re: Chemical enhancements with an addiction probability
  20. Re: Uh, other - don't know what to call it There are also theses special rules for Useable Characteristics (STUN, BODY, END) in 6E, that would further limit it. Plus the bookkeeping. What speaks against just taking the Transfer-Drain/Aid from the 6E book and deleting the "only to aid self"? Should be around 50 Real Cost by then, however.
  21. Re: Chemical enhancements with an addiction probability Way easier. Side effect is normally used for powers with "Requires a Roll" and has rules to aply Complications - inlcuding dependance - that heal over time(6E1 394, right text). The complication stays "for the time it would need to heal (AP of Side Effect) BODY naturally" (without Regeneration). So when requires a Roll fit's the concept, just give it the side effect of "Dependance" for the substance. When he re-uses the substance, he could always re-apply the complication thus starting the healing time again. You could even modifiy/add in things like modified Rage (if he fails the roll, he has to re-use it) into the side-effect to simulate the cravings. So it's just to deceide how hard/easy you want to make the roll and if it is an activation or burnout-roll (which is rolled after the effects end and prevents re-use/applys the side effect on a fail). Note than you can also just define the side effect to apply after that or give it a -0 Limitation (Requires roll only to avoid side-effect).
