  1. Re: Multiform The problem is mostly how the "buying Multiform" is written in 6E. Let's try to go through it with you concept in mind: You want two forms: 20-pt Little Girl 200-pt Intelligent Polar Bear There are highly different in abilites, points and complications so a Multiform is the right way to do it. Now the question is, what you want the True Form to be? And that is not about who transforms into who, but what does the player want to play. Does he(or she) want to play as the Little Girl with no skills or relevant stats most the time? Or as the Mighty Polar Bear, that is build on the campaing Limit? I think all the relevant abilites/powers that define her role in the group are in the Bear Form, so that should be the true form for buying Multipower. So we got: 20-pt Little Girl (Alternate Form) 200-pt Intelligent Polar Bear (True Form) Since there is only one Alternate Form, the cost Form Multipower is 20/5 = 4 Points (4 AP) and the True Form (Bear) Pays for it and writes it down on his sheet. Both forms a now build as completely different characters. If they share anything other than memory that costs points (Skills, Powers, a Horse) each of them has to pay for it seperately. Neither form has access to any of the resources, skills or stats of the other form for free. Here we stand: 20-pt Little Girl (Alternate Form) 200-pt Intelligent Polar Bear (True Form), with 4-pt Multiform But you still want the automatic transform to the little girl, of the bear is stunned or K.O. Let's take a little Look at Reversion: It Basically says "Transforms into True Form when Stunned or K.O. Value Depends on relative Power of Alternate Form(s) and True Form". The word choice here is bad, I think: While 90% percent who buy reversion, may buy it as "Alternate Form to True Form", this is not really the point of this. It's "Switch Form on Stun or K.O." with the value depending on the relative Strenghts of the Forms. I think transforming from a battle ready polar bear into a little girl, that has no Body, Stun, Rec, SPD or skills to speak of is a really big disadvantage. There is still some use when the transform is volluntarily (as a disguise, when being small is helpfull), but for most parts all she can do is walk around with the group and talk, but she will hardly have any relevant knowledge to speak of, has no interaction skills on usefull levels, etc... She get no powers the bear doesn't have (like flying, nightvision or the like), as most 20-pt Birds would do. So overall, I think a -1 or -2 Limitation fit's it, since it's in all reagards a switch to a lesser form. Ausming we take the -2, we end up with: 20-pt Little Girl (Alternate Form) 200-pt Intelligent Polar Bear (True Form), with 4 AP Multiform, -2 Limitation (se above), 1 Point Real Cost.
  2. Re: Multiform So the solution looks like this: 200-pt Polar Bear Form (the sheet) with amongst other powers: Multiform: Small Human Girl (20pt), 4 AP, Reverts(Into Small Girl Form -1) = 2 Real Cost. In 6E the Value of "Reverts" does not depend on that you revert to your True Form. It depends on one thing: If you revert to a weaker form. 400pt chapion that Reverts to his 400 pt True Form (even if it has paid the 80 CP for the Alternate Form): -0. 200 pt Polar Bear that Reverts to a 20 pt Little girl (no matter if it is in the rules of Multiform the "True Form" or an "Alternate Form"): definitely -1, mabe even -2.
  3. Re: Would you allow this advantage? Afaik Allocateable has a Yield Sign, so I understand your concern. One way to limit it: caculate how much defense-AP he would be allowed to have according to campaing standards (i.e. Standart Superheroic allows you to add +5 normal PD/ED and +18 Resistant PD/ED, worth about 34 AP) and say: You can put advantages on it, but for starters you must be within 34 AP (or whatever you think would be realistic for his concept) for your defenses. AP Limits can be a very good Balacing factor, when the players start playing with advantages. Or just place a villian in front of him that can either alterate between Phys-Blast and Energy-Blast or one that uses two weapons simultaniosly: On for Phys, one with Energy Damage. For a name: How about "Ice shard" as a name?
  4. Re: Everyman Complications Then it wasn't a 35 Points Disad, the Atmosphere is "easily avalible" and it only hinders him "Infrequently". Also, the above one in a thousand(ronin) or one in a Million(Galileo) isn't very helpfull for Everyman (read norman Normal) Complications. Of course there can be heroes that don't have shame for being naked but I think the majority stil doesn't want to go to nudism beach (while following the "dresscode"). And frankly I have no reason to believe that Galileo was a unbleiver. He just had Problems with the church, that doesn't mean you can't still believe.
  5. Re: Counters to problems? (Such as AoE spam and magic overuse) I only said what was said to me. I do not have any of those settings. And like you said, it makes a difference in power to have a multipower or to not have one. And I bet each of those chases had either some drawback (you are hunted for forbidden magic) or gave the non-magicians additional options of equal value. That is unfortunately not so true when you only have the two core books, wich is why it was written to be carefull about using them. Unless you allow the non-macgicians to build Power based Attack Talents (wich only makes it more difficulty).
  6. Re: Anubis? Indeed, that's more his thing. While the jackal was known to be a Grave Robber, Anubis was more Guardian of the Body and the Soul. How about an anti-undead attack? Or would this fall into "fast aging nonliving material"-RKA? Another way to use fast aging vs. Unliving, is to Dispel/Drain Armor (or Foci in general). Ironically for the avatar of a god of death/afterlife, a Code vs Killing would be fitting ("It is not my purpose to interfere in matters of life and dead").
  7. Re: Limited FTL Travel Ohh, that is a Winnebago. Well it's a Space- and Atmosphereworthy Vehicle, or Mobile Base. It would help to have the Vehicle and Base book for it, but it should be possible with Combat and Advernturing too. How about just placing a request with "How to Build" Prefix in the Hero-System Discussion or Star Hero Forum? There should come some usefull answers and maybe someone even did that already.
  8. Re: Hello new hero here. Sounds like this Laptop had the Survivalist Gene, didn't it Pizza?
  9. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Considering that the average chance to have a planet in a sector is about 1/3, that's a lot.... But that reminds me of this one Simpson Episode
  10. Re: Counters to problems? (Such as AoE spam and magic overuse) All of those are very nice - for experienced GM's. He's a new GM. There is a guideline regaring Frameworks for new GM's. He deceided to follow that guideline, untill he has more experience. Sometimes the best way is the most simple one.
  11. Re: Limited FTL Travel Okay, I don't know what a "Winnebago" is, but your group sound like fun. if everything else fails: Flying with bulky focus.
  12. Re: Multiform He meant what I said: The Girl is the "Form you Revert to, if you have to revert". So for most rules the Bear(who pays the points, who gets the XP) is the True Form. For Transforming back (and only this), the Girl is the true form. And it's still no hole in the rules. Everything is there. When you don't have Limitations on it there is no reverting back. And the Limitations "Reverts back into true form" and "Reverts into 20 pt Girl Form" are not that different. You could just take vanilla 4pt MF for the bear and give him Involuntary Transformation (whenever K.O. or Stunned; to Little Girl Form) and it's done. No need to even think about Limitation Values.
  13. Re: Resistance vs. Striking Appearance After some though: Only to counteract comparable amounts of striking apereance (+5 for every level of SA used), should be -1. After all tehre a more characters with interrogation that with SA. But overall: How about just going with a high EGO? Or a Complication/Power: Asexual?(this doesn't mean he can't fall in love)
  14. Re: Everyman Complications For a japanes setting perhaps: Honor before Life Obey your Masters In a christian/medieval setting: Low Status Believer Superstition Mostly applicable: Triskaidekaphobia or Tetraphobia In the disc world, magicians have: "Fear of the number between 7 and 9"
  15. Re: His Power Is Faster... I noticed to late that your number were off and it got lost in the Edit's: 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 are the real numbers.
  16. Re: His Power Is Faster... What version are we talking about? becuase in 6E: 3: 4, 8, 12 7: 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 But you listed: 3,4,6,8,9,11,12 I meant: 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 In the red: Only Weather. All others: Weather and normal.
  17. Re: His Power Is Faster... (2,4,6,7,9,11,12) I chose the nine. It would be an advantage to choose the 7 and this way it's near to delay a phase on 8.
  18. Re: Limited FTL Travel That sounds more like a plot device since it would get them a ton of people who want to controll it: Governments, Pirates, Corporations who want in on the share, Organized Crime, Ferengi...
  19. Re: Resistance vs. Striking Appearance that is how Resistance is Build: Resistance: +1 with EGO Roll (2 Active Points); Only To Resist Interrogation/Questioning (-1). Total cost: 1 point. So I'd say just buy EGO with Limitation: Only to Counteract Striking Apereance
  20. Re: His Power Is Faster... Advanced Player Guide 2 will have Rules for Powers with their own Speed, things Like Missiles or Omega Beams. And there is always the way of making his powers a "weather ghost" folower, but may create problems of concept (he's attackable). What might help us is to tell us what you really want, not what your Idea of doing said thing is. From there we can work better on a solution. How do you want battle to work? How much control does he have over the weather (is there a "lag" for his missing speed)?
