I would go with the "Only in Secret ID" option rather than a Focus.

Ankylosaur's partner was Wyvern.
I believe the group you're looking for is VOICE, lead by "Red Dragon".

FenrisUlf got a reaction from Sundog in Larger Than Life! Real people who could be pulp heroes.
I agree. It's surprising so few works of fiction have used Mister Greenstein given his wildly adventuresome life.
And am I wrong or was he part of the inspiration for the Golden Age Atom at DC Comics?
*Looks at Link*: Yep, he was.

FenrisUlf reacted to freakboy6117 in Larger Than Life! Real people who could be pulp heroes.
Reading some of Christopher Lees Obituaries after yesterday I find myself thinking about real people who would make for interesting pulp heroes.
In lee's case RAF intelligence officer seconded to the SAS (possibly one of the inspirations for James bond) , expert fencer, multilingual, professional actor and Stuntman direct descendant of Charlemagne.
Also
Buster Keaton Physical Phenomenon pioneering stunt man jackie chan before there was a jackie chan Parkourist before parkour
watch this video and tell me he wouldn't be an amazing pulp hero
so who else would you suggest

FenrisUlf reacted to megaplayboy in Silver/Bronze age post-modern apologetics
The main golden and silver age trope I can think of: Heroes don't kill or do so with extreme rarity, and villains rarely kill large numbers of civilians, rarely kill the DNPCs of heroes, and even more rarely kill the heroes themselves. Why? My theory is a combination of a kind of gentlemen's agreement that "this is how the game will be played...or else", and a sense of Mutual Assured Destruction(murderous vigilante heroes leads to ever more ruthless villains, and vice versa). One could also add the possible public opprobrium of heroes playing judge, jury and executioner and perceiving super-murderous villains as "too dangerous to let live". The public would demand a military response to a villain who wiped out a town, and perhaps a nuclear response to one who wiped out a city(or small country).

RDU Neil saying that everything that drive humans is economic is cynical. And as a former volunteer firefighter, I can tell you, not everything comes down to money. There are other desires which cause men to do the things they do.

FenrisUlf reacted to Ninja-Bear in Working on Eclipse City, the City out of nowhere
Eclipse City? No the name should be Atlantis! Look at the shiny crystal structures! Look how futuristic it is! Why in Idaho? Well when it was about to sink, the magicians casted a powerful spell. When the water rises, the earth moved and the Eclipse unlocked the spell. The city didn’t move, the earth beneath it did!

Piles of it - in fact, the Battle of Los Angeles gets its own adventure seed (p. 138 - I recommend using the Xenovores.) However, it's highly unlikely there will be any more Age books, alas - it's pretty clear the market just isn't there. dw

Well I've wrapped up the 4th edition Champions and Strike Force conversions, any others people would like to see from olden Champs days converted to 6th edition? Stuff not in more recent products like Enemies, I mean.

FenrisUlf reacted to death tribble in Create a Villain Theme Team!
I'm sorry but I had to......
Clad in a tartan suit including a tartan fedora and carrying a tartan Thompson sub-machine gun comes The Loch Ness Mobster. Originally from Inverness Antonio McDonald is Scots-Italian. He serves as Angus's muscle and gunman and is perhaps the most'normal' member of the group. He has a deep love for gangster film noir but try imagining saying the tough phrases in a broad Scots accent.

FenrisUlf reacted to Lord Liaden in Golden Age Champions Discussion Thread
Bulletproof went through a lot before an encounter with a mysterious cosmic being in 1947 hurled him into the year 3000. He started out as just a tough but normal brawler wearing a protective costume of experimental materials. It wasn't until 1944 that he was accidentally exposed to an experiment by Der Totenkopf which gave him true superhuman invulnerability.
And yes, I realize you were making a joke. But you raise the issue, yer gonna get an answer whether you like it or not.
-
FenrisUlf reacted to Darren Watts in Golden Age Champions Discussion Thread
Yup! Eastern martial arts knowledge is pretty anachronistic, particularly in pop culture, but "super" heroes who basically had a gimmick costume and some boxing or wrestling knowledge (Wildcat, Crimebuster, Atom, Guardian) are pretty common.
-
FenrisUlf reacted to Lord Liaden in Golden Age Champions Discussion Thread
I recognize most of them from references elsewhere. The guy in yellow and green socking Hitler in the jaw is Bulletproof (who reappears in the far future in Galactic Champions). The fella emerging from darkness on the far right is Dr. Twilight, grandfather of Dr. Ka, the mystic hero from Vibora Bay. The girl punching the giant robot is the Sea Hawk, aka Princess Mara of Atlantis (Queen Mara in modern day, as described in Hidden Lands). Dude in blue and white at bottom left is Optimus, leader of the Defenders of Justice. I'm afraid I don't recognize the energy projector at upper left.

FenrisUlf reacted to Darren Watts in Golden Age Champions Discussion Thread
Aah, I think I get you now. (You really need more complete sentences, if you're going to go around calling yourself QuestionMan!) Golden Age is a "Low-Powered Supers" setting according to the standards set in 6e1. It doesn't use NCM. Most of the characters have 50-60 AP for their main power, but there's a wide variety there depending on their roles.
And there's a ridiculously-complete list of archetypes and sub-archetypes. I'm not including any definitions here (buy the dang book!) but here's the complete list of archetypes discussed:
I. Bricks
Flying Bricks
Indestructible Bricks
Strange Visitors
Perfected Bricks
Exploding Bricks
Chemically Improved Bricks
Mechanically Improved Bricks
II. Energy Projectors
Elementalists
Focus Wielders
III. Mystics
Inheritors of Ancient Magic
Stage Performers
Occult Detectives
Ghosts
IV. Speedsters
Traditional Speedsters
Flyers
Swimmers
V. Weaponmasters
Archers
Anachronistic Lawmen
Vehicle Masters
VI. Mystery Men (replaces Martial Artist)
Costumed Detective
Femme Fatale
Frustrated Lawman
Great White Hunter
Mystery Man of Science
Trained Fighter
Wild Man or Woman
VII. Others
Gadgeteers
Mentalists
Metamorphs
Powered Armor
Patriots
VIII.Sidekicks
Derivative Kid
Female Counterpart
Comic Relief
Boy In Charge

Maybe a little bit about the organizations involved? I mean, I know the national governments in the conflict, but what government agencies and affiliated groups are players in the campaign? Who's responsible for what? Any activity among the private factions of the setting? For example, I know the Circle of the Scarlet Moon were supposed to have assisted the RSvKg.

Me too! Storn is the best. If all works out as planned, the interior chapter pages will also be by him, with each being a swipe/homage to a famous GA cover redone with Champs Universe characters. Superman shaking dudes out of a car, Captain Marvel Jr. smashing a stone swastika, maybe a Spirit cover with words written down the side of a tenement building.

That does remind me, a pre-Doctor Destroyer Doctor Destroyer. And, if he was old enough, Archmago (I suspect that he got his start in the golden age, but won't be a real threat till the silver age).

That's a great question, and I didn't know the answer so I went back and counted. Once again with the caveat that this is *before editing*, the count goes: 12 Germans, 2 Italians, 1 Bulgarian, 9 Japanese, 3 Atlanteans, 10 assorted American criminals, and 2 "alien races" (one of which is actually from here.)
