  1. Re: Character for review: Christine Hunter Is this using an expanded export templates for the Hero Boards...? That has WAY more stuff than characters I've exported for the boards using version 2...
  2. I don't think an Adder... Maybe instead of an Advantage on its own, it would be a multiplier of the existing Autofire Advantage... Normal Advantage x2, for halving the required Success Margin per extra hit... Times 3 Autofire would go from +1/4 to +1/2. Times 5 Autofire would go from +1/2 to +1. Each doubling of Autofire capacity would effectively be +1 instead of +1/2. If the Autofire isn't applied against normal defenses, that would be +2 instead of +1. (The form of this for Autofires that don't have an attack roll makes no sense, since the required Success Margin of an attack roll is what we're modifying...)
  3. Re: Illiteracy... Hmmm... With the cost to increase Acting and Persuasion, it works out better to pay the base costs, and then buy Presence, with "Cannot be used to make Presence Attacks" as a Limitation, which I rated at -1 & 1/2 Anything think that should be a different value...? 4. Re: Arms Fall Off Lad But while an Arm is detached, it could grab things with its hand, right...? You might look at some Limited Desolidification, only to move limbs through places his body can't fit and they can...
  5. When Autofire is applied to an Attack, an additional shot hits for each full 2 points you make the attack roll by, up to the number of shots in the Autofire burst... Advantage: Low Recoil -- An additional shot hits for each point you make the attack roll by... Limitation: High Recoil -- An additional shot hits for each full 3 points you make the attack roll by... I figure one would be useful for some Autofiring Energy weapons, while the other would be for Autofire weapons that are excessively powered... What would you estimate their value to be...?

  7. Re: Illiteracy... Right, but he needs a *lot* of money... See he used to live in California, where the waves were tubular, and then his family moved to New York... He wants to move back to California, and live on the beach, but his parents are, like, totally uninterested in what he wants... And he's got, like, these powers, ya know...?
  8. Re: Illiteracy... He's a small time villain because he needs money for something, and taking from banks is the only way he can think to get it... Hard to get a job if you can't fill out an application... He's fairly powerful, so he'd be a good person for an evil mastermind to enlist later on...
  9. I need advice... So anyway... This one time, I somehow found myself on this really, really huge spaceship and stuff... It was some kind of destroyer, or something... Anyway, I was zooming around, and enjoying myself, when I sorta-kinda annoyed the crew by teaching the ship's computer to sing "It's a small World"... And it wouldn't stop singing... So I got taken to an airlock by this Asthmatic dude wearing black robes and this funky, shiney black helmet, and he kicked me in the butt, right out the airlock door... And I heard him say, "And STAY out!" as I plummetted... Luckily I landed in a fountain, but the fact remains he kicked me in the butt... So what I want to know is, how can I get back at him...? Wootlingly yours, me...
  10. I'm recreating a villain character from an old campaign... He either could not read, or couldn't read very well... I thought for a moment about giving him Eidetic Memory, to allow him to cover for not being able to read, but now I wonder... Can anyone suggest other ways the character might conceal this...? He's a recent graduate from High School who didn't pay attention in class... The character dates back to when social promotion was a problem in large schools, but I'm not sure that applies any longer...
  11. Yo, Quark-dude...!!! Everything is always Evil, Evil, Evil... Why doesn't anyone help out Naughty Villains...? You know, that's like an Evil Villain, but just Naughty instead of Evil...

  15. Ya know... Wesley Crusher's life must have been hell... Think about it... You're a teenager, and unless you wrangle planet leave you're stuck on the same ship as your Mom... And if you *do* find a girl to fool around with, that'll show up on your medical scans, and who will be looking at or even making those scans...? That's right, your Mom... And if, for some reason you need a little penecillin (if you know what I mean), you have to get it from your Mom... Are we noticing a trend, here...?
  16. Nyeah...!!! But if there is no step/rule #6, then what you would put there *IS* #7... So THERE...!!!
  17. Re: Largest Space Chart Design Heh... It's an ambiguity I see over and over again in pretty much any product that covers the subject, so that's why I noticed it... The habcat data seems like it would be useful... I'll have to remember it if I ever get players interested in SciFi again...

    Solar Hero

Re: Solar Hero In my opinion, you don't have to have FTL for the Solar System to be interesting... I've been contemplating a Sci-Fi background for a while now, with FTL travel as a relatively new technology, but the period in the timeline just prior to its development might be a good period for adventure as well... The key technological development was Reactionless Drive... While it doesn't involve momentum or acceleration, it isn't Faster Than Light either... Ships could travel at half the speed of light for sustained periods, with a substantial portion of their mass tied up in engines and dedicated power plants, while a minimal portion of their mass so allocated would let ships travel at 10% of lightspeed... This meant that any ship could travel anywhere in the solar system in around 4 days or so at most, while fast ones could do it in less than a day... Covering a distance of one AU took a bit under an hour and a half at most, or a bit over 15 minutes for the fastest ships... From the existing meager space platforms, lunar colony, and orbital habitats, mankind exploded out into the Solar System... And interesting times ensued... Just imagine people EVERYWHERE, being themselves and causing trouble...
  20. Re: Largest Space Chart Design Stars or Star Systems...? Due to the existence of Binaries and Trinaries, this could skew your figures when allocating coordinates...
  21. Re: D20 style character sheet Actually, since 3d6 has an average of 10.5, that means that 11- has the same probability as 10+... DC = 10, with the Skill at +2 would match 13- perfectly... Hero___d20 17-____+6 16-____+5 15-____+4 14-____+3 13-____+2 12-____+1 11-____+0 10-____-1 9-_____-2 8-_____-3
  22. Re: John Henry based brick It was a bet, but remember what he was betting for... The Steam Drill would have cost most of his fellow workers their jobs... He killed himself contesting for their self respect, and their continued ability to feed and clothe their families...
