  1. Re: Can you suggest some powers for these images? #1: I like the Firefox mention by Enforcer. Like to see what the back of the costume looks like. #2: Darkness/Heat: Equinox, Dusk #3: Best design by far: Female Doc Oc? Gorgon, Dragon Lady.

    Team Archetpes

Re: Team Archetpes Villain Teams: Evil Mastermind with a bunch of superpowered goons: Frightful Four, Masters of Evil Common Cause/Origin: Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, U-Foes A Grouping of Arch-Enemies: Almost every DC villain team, exemplars: Injustice Gang, Secret Society of Supervillains, and my fave The Legion of Doom. Themes: Serpent Society, Royal Flush Gang, Death Throws
  3. Re: Your Character's Greatest Fear? Winterhawk: Fears he isn't as capable as his superpowered comrades. Hellion: Fears that he will never find redemption, and go to Hell permanently.
  4. Re: Looking for ideas for my campaign (Danger: Long) How about the ole' one-enemy-with-the-powers-of-all ala Superskrull, Super Adaptoid or Amazo. Seems like a natural fit.
  5. Re: Supervillain Images ...and one of my all-time faves...The Amazing Darkon!
  6. Re: Supervillain Images Mangog, you are a really talented artist. Sketchpad inspired me to post a couple of my own revamps... The Buffalo from Enemies III...
  7. I agree. The Elvis/Karl Kolchak thing was a one shot run by a buddy of mine (also a huge Nightstalker fan), they also teamed up with Pepper Anderson (Police Woman). Instead of the Aztec Mummy thing, I ended up tying up a lose plot thread from the sister campaign involving Anubis. Pretty neat battle at the Luxor.
  8. In the VIPER sourcebook, Las Vegas is described as having a "lesser nest", however the section regarding The VIPER Economy (p. 45) describes "Rather than paying huge cash bonuses..., they prefer to fly agents out to VIPER-controlled resorts and show them a good time. Particularly loyal and capable agaents, however, do receive cash bonuses (often through rigged gambling winnings-VIPER's well-versed in a number of old school money laundering techniques)." With knowlege of the highly regulated gambling trade in Vegas, could VIPER own a casino, or interest in one? And what insideous plots could stem from it? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
  9. Glad someone mentioned Bubba Hotep...I love that film. Taking a cue from that film and a plot from SciFi's "The Chronicle": Elvis discovers a clutch of vampires while performing in Chicago in 1972. With the help of reporter Karl Kolchak, he manages to defeat the coven, but realizes that there is much more supernatural evil out there (Thanks to the vivid accounts of Karl Kolchak). He hires the best of his many impersonators to fill in for him, and travels the globe, training himself to become a nemisis of supernatural evil. While the impersonator dies from his many vices, The King fights a shadow war against the supernatural. He rolls into Vegas hot on the trail of an reanimated Aztec Mummy. Realizing that some of his jewelry was forged from pilfered Aztec gold, he breaks into the museum in order to forge a bullet to kill the beast. freakboy and Ghost...those are some great ideas!
  10. Did the DOJ open up the specs on Avatars? I've noticed several people have larger (and really cool) avatars and wanted to improve mine. Thanks.
  11. Disad Suggestion: 3d6 from Club Soda
  12. I'm currently running a campaign in Las Vegas, so when I ran across this article: http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20040318/ap_en_mu/elvis_jewelry_theft_1 ...I knew I had to do something with it. So who commited the theft? DEMON, realizing that some trinket of The King's is an ancient mystical artifiact? GRAB, on commission for some less that scrupulous collector? Foxbat, 'cause he's Foxbat? Any suggestions welcomed and appreciated!
  13. gai gung : Rooster in Chinese. Gamecocks do fight with spurs on the back of their legs. Make him a holdover from the UK control of Hong Kong and call him Hotspur, another name for a hot head.
  14. I'm happy to report that when I get a chance to play, I have a pretty varied list of characters. But this thread did make me realize a trend. I have GMed the same group for some time now, in two different campaigns. None of the players ever plays a brick, so I invariably whip up an NPC Brick just to give the team some muscle. I've just realized they are always female. Perhaps I should consult my shrink.
  15. As a GM, one of my 'house rules' is to throw out the rules (to a degree) if they would ruin a scene.
  16. Why does this sound like a Futurama line? Since I hardly get to play, I have very little Bad GM experiences (save my own), but the no-win situation already mentioned is one that comes to mind. I had a GM run the sample adventure from Dark Champions with the agent types replaced by 400 pt. commandos...and this was 4th edition rules. Needless to say we all got killed and never ran with the guy again.
  17. Perhaps he needs the women for some unspeakable ritual to maintain his undying form. Again, a bit overused, but effective. I like the idea of the necromancer tricking the werewolves into aiding him/her.
  18. From Astro City : Lion & Unicorn: The two animals on the crest of the house of Windsor (?). The panel showed them at a distance, but they looked like powered armor types. Off the top of my head: John Bull: The personification of England akin to DCs Uncle Sam. Britannia: The female version of John Bull. Perhaps a daughter? From my own campaigns: Bulldog: Golden Age British hero based off the Golden Age Atom. Diminutive scrapper. Three I'm using in my Vegas campaign next week: Kitbash: A gadgeteer. Kitbash is the UK equivalent of 'jury rig'. Hawkshaw: A detective. Basil Donnybrook aka Chancer: A homage/parody to Warren Ellis British heroes. Flying brick who dresses like a Guy Ritchie thug. Chancer is slang for 'tough guy'.
  19. Lioness is actually an avatar of Sehkmet, the Egyptian war goddess, so a very similar theme.
  20. Next...The Pride: Siberian, Tomcat, Snow Leopard, Lioness & Boots.
  21. A couple of mine Villain Teams... A couple of my themed villain teams...not nearly as good as Richard's post, but some of my favorite characters. First up, The Goldstrike Gang, based off an ancient Adventurers Club article, the Guilt Complex. L to R: Goldenrod, Goldbug, Goldmind, Goldrush, Goldfever Back: Goldbrick
  22. "I'll take Characters That Winterhawk Would Never Use In His Campaign for $100, Alex." Good idea, though.
  23. Have to agree with lemming, bright primary colors. The design definately has a nice Golden Age feel to it. Check out this site for inspiration. Its done in MicroHero style, but includes just about every GA hero I've heard of (and some I haven't) http://members.rogers.com/micro_heroes/
  24. Unusual characters...hmmm... As mentioned in another thread, I had a player who had a light manipulating hero who played down the Energy Projector and instead was more of a street level vigilante. I have an NPC called the Rumor, who's only power is that he can 'hear' radio signals. In this day of cellular communication, he is the ultimate eavesdropper and in turn, the ulimate anonymous informant. "Rumor has it VIPER will commiting a daylight robbery in the finnancial district." *click* I have a street level hero named Bullitt, a brick by all appearances. Actually he manipulates probability subconsciously, twisting the odds so that he can lift tons or bullets bounce off his skin.
