  1. Re: Grond is up with podcast Grond looks okay. My favorite version was Zircher's, With Williams' and Storn's close behind, Grond is a good classic "Green Monster" character.

  7. Re: closed beta applications Yeah about that...what I meant was, if I see some of you there that means I got in. I have not heard bupkus. sorry for the misunderstanding. I've not heard anything.

  9. Re: The cranky thread I just scraped the paint off my car door because some idiot doesn't know how to part (actually, counting me that's two idios who don't know how to park) I'm not so broken up over it as I paid 200 for the car, and I'm getting a new one as soon as I am once again employed but I still don't know how I'm going to get my car out of my parking spot without taking the mirror off.

  13. Re: Quote of the Week from my gaming group... Totally OOC from one of our more recent Conan games. One of the players was upset that his character nearly died from Party (albeit mind controlled party) Fire. And spent the most of the next two sessions griping about it. Player: But, I'm not going to bitch anymore. Player2: You could bitch MORE? He was...rather upset about the whole thing.

  15. Re: Musings on Random Musings Thanks all, I should actually hear tomorrow if there will be a second interview.
  16. Re: Sorcery, aka Elemental Magic Very nicely done I have a question though, for the Pyromantic examples. What is the decreased value for casting firespells when not in the presence of a significant fire source? I mean of the four Elements, Pyromancers seem to be at a disadvantage as they can't really carry a campfire with them everywhere

  20. Re: My Characters, let me show you them. Last one tonight. Aschenzetia (randomized letters, call her Asche) Okamur Also a Draenei, Asche is a Shaman, and Jullen's country bumpkin cousin. She is a bit young and naive. She met Ardora and Ethrim (a Dwarven Priest) during one of their adventures in the Azuremyst area (pure speculation) and they, knowing her cousin Jullen, helped her get acclimated to Azeroth. When they moved on, they put her in touch with Shanojyn, a Draenei Mage (and alt of Ethrim's Player). Shanojyn is everything that Asche was not, she was cosmopolitan and worldly (if a little self-absorbed), and Asche has tried to emulate her new friend, she tends to "Dress Up" when in cities, returning to more practical clothing and weapons when out on a mission (she marvels how Shanojyn is capable of bringing the arcane and maintaining her perfect appearance).
  21. Re: My Characters, let me show you them. Jullen Dahkar (World of Warcraft...I know, I know) Jullen is a Draenei hunter with a single burning ambition; to be the greatest chef Azeroth has ever seen. Yeah, you heard me. Along with his companions, Sebastion the Bear and Duncan the Wolf, he has been traveling the world hunting, trapping, preparing and eating every creature he has come across (nonsentients only), he's an experienced herbalist and has a spice rack to die for. He's been to Horde, Alliance, and unaligned communites trying to learn secret recipes. He's still early in his journey but he has accrued quite the recipe book. Jullen grew out of my desire to make a colorful character rather than a badass one. Right now he's maxed out his Fishing and Cooking skills and is an Herbalist/Alchemist. Adventuring is slow as he tends to fill his bags with ingrediants heads back home to cook them up and then head to a new place for recipes.
  22. Re: My Characters, let me show you them. Ardora Bronzehammer (World of Warcraft) Ardora is not my first character on WoW but she is my longest played and probably my favorite. Her story is simple: Born to a military family she was raised a warrior (mostly by her mother) and a blacksmith (mostly by her father). Ardora's mother is quite the dwarven romantic and her daughter took to this outlook early on. So she served in the Iron Forge military for a bit and then mustered out and began to travel and adventure. She comes home often, plans on marrying a handsome dwarf (perhaps a Priest of the Light), and has gained small renown for her skills as a blacksmith. She's also seen the bulk of known Azeroth and is currently exploring "Outland" and battling demons, working wondrous metals and flirting with all manner of handsome menfolk. But she's loyal to her guild shares her wealth in a distinctly non-dwarf fashion and travels on her ram Snowflake to aid her friends at the drop of a hat.
  23. I have a bad habit of making RP characters on MMORPGs and then forgetting that fact when I'm on and chatting with my "Peeps". Anyway; here's a few of my characters, what I was going for. Anyone who wants to join in is more than welcome Ethrick Olaf Burke. (World of Warcraft) So, my plan for Ethrick was that he was a Paladin who wasn't very smart. He's not stupid but he's not a thinker. He was basically built around the battle cry of "I'm Helping!" For those not in the know, the Scarlet Crusade that Ethrick wants so desperately to join is a fanatical anti Undead military that basically kills anyone who disagrees with them. The undead are tricky so unless you're sure who you're dealing with, kill them. This has made them one of the least popular factions in the "Good Guys". They were formed from the remnants of a heroic Knightly Order. Ethrick's brother, Victor, joined the Scarlet Crusade after the deaths of his family. He burned with hatred at the Scourge and for a while he was a respected member. But Victor was a good man who's eyes were opened to the Crusade's evils and he tried to affect change within the organization. He was murdered by senior members of the Crusade. Ofcourse in the MMORPG, none of this happens and I spend most of Ethrick's time wandering to spot x and talkingto/killing/taking person/monster/object y and returning to spot z. But in my head that what's going on.
