  1. Choir is very very cool. A circus Avatar, huh? Lets see what I can do.
  2. Is there a guy with a Flock of Seagulls Haircut?
  3. Okay, I am inspired. Working on my own team of 70's era heroes. I have:Thunder: DC had once thought to make Captain Marvel an African American hero. This, along with the picture on pg 16 of the CU book gave me Thunder. A Shazam like clone hero with a big afro.Little Dragon: A chinese-american who belives that he is the vessel for the recently (at the time) departed Bruce Lee. He has a masterful grasp of Wing Chun Kung fu and Jeet Kun Do. Also has some mystical ch'i abilitiesSeraphim:A beautiful woman with great black wings and Light manipulation powers. Inspired by Storn's Thunderbird art. Frogman:A humanoid frog, strong, with leaping abilities and eventually martial arts. He would have been called Frogger, but I'm sure that game came out in the 80's.Randall Ironsson of Dr John Randall Irons, basically a Doc Savage clone. Here is Thunder all written up...ThunderPlayer: NPC; Member of Force Five Val Char Cost 60 STR 5 18 DEX 15 30 CON 10 13/23 BODY 6 15 INT 5 23 EGO 26 20 PRE 5 14 COM 2 25 PD 5 20/30 ED 5 5 SPD 2 22 REC 8 60 END 0 60 STUN 0 6" RUN02" SWIM012" LEAP0Characteristics Cost: 94Cost Power END Mystically Bestowed Attributes:, all slots: , Difficult To Dispel (x2 Active Points) (+1/4) 67 1) Thunderous Strength: +45 STR, Reduced Endurance 1/2 END (+1/4) (67 Active Points) 3 11 2) Lighting Speed: +3 DEX (11 Active Points) 37 3) Durability: +15 CON (37 Active Points) 10 4) Invulnerability: +10 BODY (25 Active Points); Only to Stave off Death Power does not work in Very Common Circumstances (-1), No Figured Characteristics (-1/2) 6 5) Aura of Power and Authority: +5 PRE (6 Active Points) 20 6) Toughness: +8 PD, Hardened (+1/4) (20 Active Points) (Modifiers affect Base Characteristic) 18 7) Toughness: +9 ED, Hardened (+1/4) (18 Active Points) (Modifiers affect Base Characteristic) 25 8) +2 SPD (25 Active Points) 34 9) Tough Skin: Damage Resistance (25 PD/20 ED), Hardened (+1/4) (34 Active Points) 9 10) Electrical Resistance: Armor (0 PD/10 ED) (19 Active Points); Only Works Against Lightning/Electrical Based Attacks Very Limited Type of Attack (-1) 5 11) Stubborn And Strong: Knockback Resistance -2" (5 Active Points) 14 12) Life Support , Extended Breathing, Safe in High Pressure, Safe in High Radiation, Safe in Intense Cold, Safe in Intense Heat, Safe in Low Pressure/Vacuum (14 Active Points) 44 13) Flying: Flight 15", x4 Noncombat (44 Active Points) 4 12 14) Keen Eyes: Enhanced Perception (+5 to PER Rolls for Single Sense Group) (12 Active Points) 7 15) Keen Eyes: Telescopic +4 to PER Rolls (only to offset the Range Modifier) (Sight Group) (7 Active Points) 32 Mystically Endowed Abilities: Multipower, 26-point reserve, all slots: , Difficult To Dispel (x2 Active Points) (+1/4) (32 Active Points) 1u 1) Thunderbolt Strike: (Total: 26 Active Cost, 12 Real Cost) Thunderous Blow: Hand-To-Hand Attack +2d6 (10 Active Points); Hand-To-Hand Attack (-1/2), Increased Endurance Cost 2x END (-1/2) (Real Cost: 5) plus Lightning Flash: Flash 2d6 (Sight Group) (10 Active Points); Linked to Thunderous Blow (-1/2), Lesser Power can only be used when character uses greater Power at full value (-1/4), Increased Endurance Cost 2x END (-1/2) (Real Cost: 4) plus Thunder Clap: Flash 2d6 (Hearing Group) (6 Active Points); Linked to Thunderous Blow (-1/2), Lesser Power can only be used when character uses greater Power at full value (-1/4), Increased Endurance Cost 2x END (-1/2) (Real Cost: 3) 6 1u 2) Instant Change: Transform 2d6: into and out of Superhero costume (Cosmetic) (10 Active Points); Limited Target (Clothes) Limited (-1/2) 1 Powers Cost: 353Cost Skill Tactician Set 15 1) +3 with HTH Combat 5 2) Defense Maneuver: I-II 3 3) Demolitions 12- 2 4) KS: US Military 11- 2 5) KS: Civil Rights Movement 11- 2 6) PS: Firefighter 11- 3 7) Stealth 13- 2 8) Survival 12- 2 9) WF: Small Arms Skills Cost: 36Cost Perk 6 SFPD: Contact, Organization Contact (+2) (6 Active Points) 11- 6 Local Hero: Reputation (A medium-sized group; 14-) +3/+3d6 1 Base Contribution: Vehicles & Bases (5 Base, 0 Disad) 4 Force Five Membership: Fringe Benefit: Basic 8- Contact (UNTIL), Membership Perks Cost: 17Val Disadvantages 10 Dependent NPC: Elizabeth Scott (Later Bruce) Reporter (Later Wife) 11- (Normal; Useful noncombat position or skills) 10 Distinctive Features: Mystical Aura (Not Concealable; Always Noticed and Causes Major Reaction; Detectable Only By Unusual Senses) 20 Hunted: DEMON 8- (Mo Pow; Harshly Punish; Extensive Non-Combat Influence) 10 Hunted: Iron Valkyrie 8- (As Pow; Harshly Punish) 10 Hunted: White Knight (Racist Supervillain) 8- (As Pow; Harshly Punish) 20 Psychological Limitation: Code Vs Killing (Common; Total) 15 Psychological Limitation: Likes the media attention (Common; Strong) 15 Psychological Limitation: Outspoken, Strong convictions, Stubborn (Common; Strong) 5 Rivalry: Professional (All-American; Rival is As Powerful; Seek to Outdo, Embarrass, or Humiliate Rival; Rival Aware of Rivalry) 15 Social Limitation: Secret Identity (Dwayne Bruce) (Frequently; Major) 10 Unluck: 2d6 10 Vulnerability: 2 x STUN Earth Based Magic (Uncommon) Disadvantage Points: 150Base Points: 200Experience Required: 150Total Experience Available: 150Experience Unspent: 0Total Character Cost: 500 Height: 6' 4" Hair: Black Weight: 260 lbs Eyes: Brown Appearance: A tall, well muscled African American male with a white costume. He has a golden T/Lighning Bolt on his Chest, in side the insignea is a fist (representing Black Power). His cape, boots, and trunks are blue. He wears his hair in a popular style for the time, in the 70's he has an afro, sideburns, and a soul patch. He wears a gold belt and no gloves or mask. Basically he is the guy on pg 16 of the Champions Universe book.Personality: Thunder is a fairly straight forward guy, good hearted, kind to children, respectful of his elders. He is kind of start struck by his powers and loves the media attention. During the Civil Rights movement, he acts as a spokesman for his people. However, like the Scarlet Shield from Detroit, his actions are often treated as suspect by both sides. Quote:"Hey baby, why not get with the REAL Chocolate Thunder!""I'm taking you in to the cops, on your feet or on a stretcher, its up to you!" Background: Former Vietnam Vet turned firefighter, Dwayne Bruce was knocked unconscious trying to help an elderly man from an apartment complex fire in 1973. While he was unconscious he had a dream in which he was standing at the edge of a lake high in the mountains. The ground began to tremble, the water frothed, and up from the bottom of the lake appeared a gigantic humanoid with blue skin and a silver beard. The Giant told Dwayne that he had been chosen, for his bravery and his desire to help his fellow man, to bear the powers of the storm gods. Although Dwayne had trouble believing this, even in his dream, he accepted the responsibility. When he awoke, he found that he had been in a coma for over three months! The doctors were shocked that he seemed to get bigger and stronger as the time passed, his muscles grew rather than atrophed. On his way home from the hospital he saw a child running into the street in front of an oncoming car. Willing himself to the scene, he grabbed the little girl and flew into the air. Realizing the vision of the giant was true, he developed the personae of Thunder. Powers/Tactics: A classic brick, Thunder is a "Shazam" style original hero. He generally mixes it up with other strong men, using his natural hand to hand combat skills and judicious use of the Thunder Bolt Strike.Campaign Use: A 70's era hero. He has since retired. He could be a mentor, or the father of a current hero or villain.it should be noted that during the 70's DEMON was less a threat. So you might drop the Extensive NCI, to make up the points, change his DNPC to "Doesn't know of his Secret ID).
  4. NO WAY! Congratulations! Where you honeymooning?
  5. I didn't give you permission to use Irishman's Stuff either!!
  6. I feel dumb, but I can't fing it. Which doc is it.
  7. That was much better than the last one we were offered.
  8. Okay, but really, is Doctor Destroyer going to get more Ruthless? Is he going to see the light? IMO the biggest "evolution" for Destroyer is if he succumbs to old age and is replaced, the new DrD might have some maneuverability... Warlord has a nice mysterious motivation thing working for him. He could be plumbed for depth by establishing what his deal is. IssT'a Vahsan ? She already is the Empress of countless Dimensions, I don't see her changing her ways. Takofanes is pretty rigid as well, save for giving him minions as you suggest, Hermit, his goal, like Mechanon is that of the destruction of all mankind. Not really going to see changes of heart from either of those. of course, that's just how I see them.
  9. Well, I just ordered it. We'll see what It looks like soon enough.
  10. If you ask me, Gravitar seems to be what would your average teenager or genxer do if they suddenly had super powers? She knows that she is one of the baddest of the bad and she's just acting out. I agree with LL, she has potential to become something more than what she currently is. Where as most of the master villains do not.
  11. Curse you and your elite Deduction!
  12. Actually, I was kind of disappointed with the changes made to Vibron. I liked him the way he was.
  13. Not to toot the old horn, but the Character Posting Game has some wierd characters in there, you could adapt them...
  14. Along these lines, Steve, Darren, Allen, et al, will their ever be perhaps an Update Book? For the CU. I know when the 4th edition CU came out the author had mentioned that it was possibly the first of many... I wouldn't mind seeing maybe 3 or 4 years down the road an "Official CU Update" Book that maybe gives updated stats for the iconics, perhaps a changing of the guard that happens so often in comics, or at least a history of what's going on since the original books came out. I have a better grasp on the CU as a living universe than most game (heck, comics) I have read and wouldn't mind seeing where you guys envision it down the road aways.
  15. I tried that trick once, got a blue skinned ranger with a 23 strength. It was cool. I was a watered down version of the incredible hulk. The look on the GM's face when I made the roll was priceles...
  16. I was tossing the idea of a character that had been "raised" in the afterworld and returned to earth when he had grown. It was an angelic type super. Anyway, he had a number of mentors. The one who came with him to watch over him in the earth realm was John Lennon.

Now he looks like a gleaming golden human male with silver hair, green eyes, a deep blue cloak, white trunks, boots and gloves. He also has an uncanny resemblance to an idealized version of the morbane whose soul sliver possessed him in the first place.Personality: Phaedriade is a kind and generous artificail man. He has grown alot in the five years of his existance. He still yearns to understand the motivations an machinations of man but feels he has found his place in the world. Quote:I fear that your intentions, Mechanon, do not coincide with my instincts. This confrontation will lead to violence if you do not leave. Background: The sentient construct known as Pheadriade (Shining One) began "his" (he has chosen the male gender as that was the gender of the human who bonded him)existance over five years ago as a powerful achemical artifact known as the Philosopher's Stone. A DEMON morbane who had managed to unearth the stone during an extensive campaign accidentally shunted his "good side" into the stone in an attempt to bring himself to greater heights of dark glory; and possibly as a vessal for one of the elder gods he worshipped. The ritual went badly, the stone recieved a bit of his soul, his body did not become a vessal for an elder god, but instead was used by a violent demonic force. Insane with pain and hatred, the former morbane slew his entire cell and embarked on a rampage in the nearby "company" town of Darrensburgh, OR (fictional town folks). The nacent soul of the stone slowly began to cause it to take a vague human form. Wrapping itself in one of the cloaks of a fallen morbane; the knewly 'born' construct left the base. Due to an overwhemling sense of purpose, the construct confronted and destroyed the demon. After the battle it took off in search of a new purpose. Over time it began to develope a personae, and as he began to take shape psychologically he began to take shape physically. Once a rough hewn stone humanoid the constrcut has metamorphasized towards a shining, handsome metallic man. He has changed his name a few times; but when he joined the Defenders, the local team in the northwest, he chose Phaedriade. Powers/Tactics: His ability to manipulate matter is Phaedriade's most potent ability. However, he tries to avoid wanton destruction and his abilities tend towards the altering or destroying of matter. He often plays the part of a brick, then uses his abilities to repair the damage done when the combat is over. Campaign Use: A "Data" wannabe with great powers. He is quite potent and the potential to disrupt campaigns with his abilities is there. He will not use his abilities to kill, as a matter of fact his limtation (only vs Nonorganic Matter) on his Distinigration ability is mostly psychological, not any limitation on the power itself. If copied or mimmicked it might not have that limitation. If he is too powerful for your campaign drop the Disintigration to 2d6 and cap the Multipower at 90 points. if he's not tough enough, raise the MP to 250 ppints, his Strength to 60 and the Variable Advantage as well. Check out the UNTIL SUPERPOWERS DATABASE for more Matter Manipulation Abilities.(oops, forgot, that was ver 1.0)next challenge:Cosmic Powered Alien Princess (or Prince) on the run.

He has a tanned complexion and a casual demeanor. He wears a standard field agent combat suit in red with white and gold trim. He greatly resembles Ido from the RPG Xenogears.Personality: Jason is dedicated to his new mission, the things he has learned and seen in his short time as a member of the field team has convinced him of LEGEND's mission and righteousness. He gets along well with his fellow field agents. Loves piloting the various transport and combat craft. He has continued his flight training and can pilot almost any airborn vehicle. He wants to begin training on starcraft. In combat, he tends to keep his distance as while more than a match physically for many normal human opponents, he has no formal hand to hand training.Quote:Stand down, I don't want to have to char you. Background: Jason Reichman's happiest day was graduating flight school. He was about to join the family tradition, his father, uncles, and grandfather had all been pilots. Things went down hill considerably when he was unable to find work in the cold reality that was the airline industry. Things had gotten bad after the major airlines decalared bankrupcy. His grandfather, a pilot in WWII and Korea, made a few calls and Jason was contacted by a Dr Ashton Yunagi. Dr Yunagi was the head of a super secret project headed by a group of powerful and influential people from all over the world. Operation LEGEND needed agents, and Yunagi thought that Jason might work out. Jason, along with sixteen other applicants were tested vigorously for their physical and mental prowess. Then came a battery of psychological interviews. Finally, ten of the applicants were released and the final seven began a grueling training sequence. Jason, in excellent physical condition, had little trouble keeping up. Finally the seven remaining applicants were told what was going on. LEGEND was an organization developed to save the world from a threat long ago prophesized. Using techniques that blended science and sorcery, techlogy and alchemy, the seven finalists were given a "totem" and superhuman powers to go with. Jason Reichman became the Crimson Phoenix. Powers/Tactics: Crimson Phoenix pretty much sits back and blasts his opponents. He will Extinguish or exert his Mastery if against another flame weilder. He likes to use the Flame Cage on agents as they generally stay put. Dessicate is another favorite for non metahumans.Campaign Use: Firepower and pilot for the LEGEND field team. He doesn't stray too far from his team mates and while bright doesn't think on his feet well. Tends towards the most direct solution.
  19. Cool pic Storn. As always. How goes the game?
  20. Mechanon to a robot Antagonist: "Throw down the shackles of organic rule, you are a perfect being, unsullied by their filthy genetic codes." if rebuked: "Then die the lacky of the filth that created you, alas you were unable to ascend to the heights of inorganic perfection. Perhaps you will be reborn through this expericence."
  21. Also a song on the Heavy Metal Soundtrack. I think it was Nazareth's contribution.
  22. I am looking for "good" mythical monsters Thus far I have: Unicorn Pegasus Dragon Sphinx Phoenix I'd like something considered quite magical, inclinations to help man, and a sea creature or land based creature would be nice. They should also have a name that wouldn't be giggled at by other superheroes... any ideas?
  23. Hero gamers rule everyone else is just tools haiku hero tells the tale
  24. well, its not what you are looking for I am sure; but Jeet Kun Do was developed in America. I like Visionary too. BTW.
