I hope everyone enjoyed the day. I'm afraid my mother passed away unexpectedly many years ago but I cherish her memory. I also got a new puppy today - Winky the smartest terrier/chihuahua/dalmation mix (?) on the planet!

The chief of police, asked about the lack of violent response (sorry, "escalation of force") by the riot police, said "there were 13, 14, and 15 year-old kids out there, do you want us to shoot them?" He has a point. Also, escalation of force almost never leads to de-escalation of conflict. It feels reckless and unjust, but waiting it out was a smarter move. Doing what they did very likely saved lives and property and let tonight be a quiet night in my city. If the guys with the truncheons are not beating people, trust that they have good reason to do so. Truncheons love working, and it is hard to hold them at your side without finding something to hit with them.

Thanks Scott Baker for the instructions.
I haven't drawn in about 2 years...man the time flies when you have grand and foster kids, lol...anyway, I uncovered a 20 year old pic of a character of mine, Kestrel. I wanted to update the theme, colors, etc. Let me know what you think. (I'm considering compiling my "world", sort of a personal themed kickstarter...) Kestrel was the first character that sparked my interest in the idea. Here's the original pic, the updated, side by side. All hand drawn, colored with Berol Prismacolor.
