Tasha got a reaction from Chris Goodwin in What sort of books would you like see published for Hero System?
Yes, I would like to see that. Because new gamers need something that gets them into the action now and simplifies character generation. They can always include the nitty gritty under the hood stuff for the people who DO want to customize further.

Plot Point Campaigns. I really love Necessary Evil. It's well put together and is pretty easy to convert to Hero. The Deadlands PP books are supposed to be good too.

PS sorry if I replied to this one before. I don't remember if I have and my original post keeps getting likes so...

I want Hero to make a fully realized fully built out Fantasy World. Including Spells, Fighting styles, History, Full color maps, Hero System rules. Everything but power building rules. Everything that a GM needs to run games in that fantasy world. It could be a Rulebook and a Gazetteer style book (ie Pathfinder Core and Inner Sea World Guide). I would also like to see the same thing done to Superheroes. the idea would be for the writeup to be minimal nothing extra and to keep things very simple. Self contained would be the watchword. GM's wanting more customization would be pointed at Champions Complete and Fantasy Hero Complete. Writeups of all equipment, spells etc with all of the costs in them would be available using Bits & Mortar service.

Also something that crosses Savage Worlds Plot point campaigns with Paizo's Adventure path. ie Something that has a strong plotline, but also has some side adventures/quests for variety. Because adventures actually drives sales of other books. GM's need adventures and campaigns. Making it easy for the GM to run will generate sales of the books because they will want to run the game.

I would also love to see more Champions Miniatures. Perhaps WizKids can do some HeroClix of the Champions Universe characters.

No it is not. What adventures can do is tie all of that background material into a presentation that makes all of that information into something relevant to the player, especially the player who is not the kind to get absorbed into the lush background information provided elsewhere. I personally agree with you that a setting is more than any one of the components that comprise it. It is the whole enchilada and lacking one or more ingredients deprives the setting of the vital essence that makes it resonate.

FH Campaign Setting as detailed and interesting as Harn.  Fully detailed out history for multiple kingdoms, cultures, travel, food, economics, cities, magic and lore.  A campaign setting is not a series of adventures, it is a place with a history and feel that makes it come alive.  The best campaigns I have played in and run have come from a campaign setting with a solid foundation to build upon.  Once that is done then encourage the writing of adventures (single shot or series) that are played in the setting.  There might be some 'rules' around how much an adventure can change the setting or history.

And if you really want to go hog wild make it possible to use the setting and adventures with Realm Works

Miniatures would be awesome - especially female miniatures that don't look and dress like strippers.

Couldn't agree more, Nolgroth. I think Paizo has really raised the bar on what a campaign setting and support should look like.

A setting developed with full support like Forgotten Realms or Golaron. Not just the monolithic setting product, but Gazetteers, Grimoires, Bestaries, Treasures, NPCs and, most of all, prefabricated adventures to tie it all together. If I am dreaming big, I want poster maps, high production quality and extras like miniatures and reusable map assets. Take a look at Paizo. Now rip out Pathfinder and stick Hero in there. Not necessarily the same setting, but certainly the same benchmark.

I would like to see a full Campaign & Campaign Setting published specifically for Champions or Fantasy Hero Complete. Such would require a Setting Gazetteer to be sure, but I want more than just a world that I could run a game in if I had time to write a scenario that fit it. I would like a campaign length modules: 400+ pages of interlocking scenarios and an appendix containing literally everything you need to run that campaign with CC/FHC; optional rules used by the campaign, sample equipment, gadgets/magic items, and spells/powers, example creatures, npcs, etc.

Rules as Written, all of your actions within a phase occur during the segment which your phase took place. Because that isn't always convenient or realistic, we have rules for Holding Actions which allow characters to push the actions a few segments later to better line up with the actions of others. For example, Holding your Action to use your Healing power on a slower ally after they have come into the range of your ability. There are also optional rules for segmented movement in one of the APGs (IIRC), but they can really slow down the game, and don't add much to it in my opinion.
As Christopher points out though, Phases are simply the "panels" wherein events of the "comic" culminate. In terms of the narrative of the game, a character with SPD 2 isn't stationary during segments 1-5, and then suddenly runs 6m and punches a robber on the 6th segment... even though mechanically that is exactly what is happening.
While the rules in CC/FHC neither explicitly allow or prohibit doing so, I would probably allow a character to Hold a Partial Action. For example, a character with SPD 2 might want to move 6m as a Half-Phase Action during their Phase on Segment 6 to block a doorway, but then want to Hold their remaining Half-Phase Action to Strike an enemy with their sword as soon as the enemy with SPD 3 comes into range during the enemy's Phase on Segment 8 (long before the character would have had another chance to Strike the enemy on Segment 12). But since I am unsure the RAW supports that, it is a house rule.

Bear in mind that your character is still considered to be moving or dodging or whatever in between his Phases. So, if your character flies 10" on his Phase, he still has a velocity of 10" until his next action. Likewise, whatever action was taken that affects OCV and DCV still continues to affect OCV and DCV until the character's next action (or an Abort). In effect, that move and/or attack is sort of still "happening" in those segments in between Phases.

In the case of an attack or other Instant power, you have to imagine that it was fired off at the end of the Phase, but the character is still "following through" in whatever way you can imagine it making sense for the action taken. It isn't as though time/action freezes in between Phases. It is all supposed to be thought of as continuous and on-going at all times.

Yeah, that's how I understand it and have run things for decades now.

In order to have a game work, you have to make certain concessions to rules and technique versus reality or believability.  For Hero, the most obvious expression of this is the movement where you basically teleport around on the battlefield (because your phase originally was your frame in the comic book, one panel of action, frozen in time).  Its a bit awkward for some things but I think it works well enough.

I do think letting people move after attacking wouldn't be so game-breaking though.

I reposted my corrected "Gazelle" file above on Post #33. There were some minor errors discovered during gametime such as MegaScale movement having both Combat and Non-Combat velocities.  Also the "Explosion" Advantage on the Plasma Torpedoes was from 5th Edition. It was corrected to the "AoE Explosion" Advantage from 6th.

If you could use change Environment, it would end up being extraordinarily cheap in both active cost (important) and real cost.

Take for example +1 sight perception, area effect 16m.  That's 5 active points, and easily big enough.

I would suggest that "minor environmental effect" should be a Change Environment option - cover things like lighting up an area, starting fires, little incidental stuff that people try to build in Hero and it doesn't work well usually.  It should be dirt cheap, given the effect's limited combat impact.  Maybe 3 points.

I have an infrequently appearing Player who is a Vet and therefore all her characters must have Animal Friendship - she's new to the system and hasn't really been around to play with us, but when building her character I agreed that the cost was high!

I do like the other options your giving here and will follow this thread with interest,,,  I'm inclined to go with the +15 Pre version as it makes the most sense to me.
