  1. Re: Killing Damage to Normal Damage And that's what we folk around these parts call Reasoning from Effect. nicely thought out PG
  2. Re: Killing Damage to Normal Damage A couple of other posters suggested something similar, but why not just baseline the campaign to normal attacks, then invert the Club Weapon Maneuver into something like "Killing Blow" with the same penalties as Club Weapon, but transforming Normal DC's into Killing DC's? Seems to me to be the simplest approach
  3. Re: Alternate Sexualities in Champions and Supers settings My HS girlfriends Champions character was a female teen-aged regenerating brick, who she figured was probably a virgin when she got her powers, and often pondered the problems this was going to cause her character in regard to intimate relationships. Of course, the point was moot until she bought off her "Doesn't Known Own Strength" Psych lim, which required her to make an ego roll to use anything less than casual strength (40 or 45, IIRC), and if she flubbed the roll by more than 3 she had to use her full Str instead of casual, so these thoughts in play were mostly along the lines of Rogue style "I can't ever have a boooooyfrieeeend..." wangst
  4. Re: The cranky thread This place is like tough guy group therapy sometimes. Fight Club without all the blood, pain, and fun.
  5. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? Cry, Little Sister- Sisters of Mercy, Lost Boys soundtrack
  6. Re: Alternate Sexualities in Champions and Supers settings Unfortunately, I wasn't actually thinking of Fantasy settings when I was typing that line, but real world examples, mores the pity.

  8. Re: Musings on Random Musings Aversion training eventually works. I might need to up the voltage, tho.
  9. Re: Musings on Random Musings Nahh, more one of those "really not my type" cases. No spark on my side at all, and while I coulda faked my way through in the name of chasing personal satisfaction, in the past when I've made that mistake it's proven much uglier to disengage after the fact.
  10. Re: The cranky thread My ex just tried to drunk dial me. Not the recent ex, but Niamh. Who ended up being my "too crazy for me" benchmark I am SO not in the right head space for this, and even more glad that I resisted the sick urge to answer the phone. Every time I've tried to go that route in the last 5 years I've regretted it, but the temptation is still there
  11. Re: Musings on Random Musings That didn't end up going so well, alas. I kinda suspected it... she was getting a little too excited about me, and I was a little underwhelmed in response. It is interesting talking before the first date and having the topics of gangbangs and erotic knifeplay both come up before you've "formally" met. And I didn't bring up either topic...
  12. Re: The cranky thread The truly grim irony is, according to everything I remember about pronouncing Welsh, L. Marcus pretty well nailed it (pronunciation-wise), assuming for a moment that was a real word
  13. Re: What Are You Listening To Right Now? "The Key to Her Ferrari" - Thomas Dolby
  14. Re: A Thread for Random Musings A woman just asked me out on Facebook. Apparently, overwhelming despair is sexy?
  15. Re: A Thread for Random Videos I have decided I must given Eben Brooks much patronage, for he is awesome... Edit, this one deserves a place in the post too, as it actually wrung a smile outta me...
  16. Re: The cranky thread I have fallen to what the Welsh call Hiraeth, a deep, bitter, intense longing for the things I've lost. I tried to watch porn today and it reduced me to tears, with the realization I'm too broken to even try anymore. Funny, the more my friends and family seem to try and help me, the worse it gets when I'm alone. I think my brain has decided I'm at fault for all that bewoes me, and is taking out on me
  17. Re: Musings on Random Musings Now I kinda have to leave this here...
  18. Re: Under the Agony Star: a sword and planet campaign I still have a copy of that game. This is sounding fairly awesome my friend, and right up my alley. Glad to chime in and help, and if you want to put together a FTF tabletop group I can probably come up with players.
  19. Re: Musings on Random Musings Try it with "Paint it Black" for a couple days straight. My internal soundtrack is stuck on Repeat
  20. Re: A Thread for Random Musings My name is Eric. I am the twisted, broken genius who works in the dark places of my theater, often deep in the props basement. I tend to be outspoken and arrogant. I'm turning into a bloody fictional character, and it ain't Peter Pan this time... "Come we must return. Those two fools who run my theater will be looking for you."

  22. Re: Cyberpunk: how did it change? Tend to agree with a lot of what's being said, but I just had to chime in with a little love for my personal all time favorite Cyberpunk book (which also spends most of it's time in "Non-urban" but street level environments)... "Hardwired" by Walter J. Williams. Speaking of CP written by fellow gamers, how many authors write their own licensed game supplement?
  23. Re: Alternate History Trooper Loadout? Coulda happened too... the Bren 10 gained a big hit of popularity when Sonny Crockett started using one on Miami Vice
