  1. Re: WW2 Guns and Vehicles One could use the Lee and Sherman tanks for the Russian since they were sent there as part of lend lease. The Russians weren't necessarily impressed with them but depending on the circumstances they might be there if it was a backwater away from the front lines.
  2. Re: Mid 70's Equipment You could get passenger vans as my parents replaced a Ford Station Wagon (that was a real lemon ) with a Dodge Van. It was a no thrills in terms of interior with two bench rows plus driver and passenger seats. But you could get custom vans with captain's chairs and tables. That was 1975.
  3. Re: Mid 70's Equipment CB radios were a definite available as my grandfather had one in his International Scout at the time of his death in 1974. After that my father kept the Scout which was a neat vehicle in an era without SUV's There are days when I miss that truck.

  6. Re: Genre-crossover nightmares Or Police Academy 8: Hellboy on Patrol! The Police Academy gang is joined by a new recruit as strange things start appearing on the streets of the city.
  7. Soon I Will Be Invincible By: Austin Grossman I found this book in my local Borders on Sunday. After finishing it I can't recommend it enough for those of us who like Supers. The heroes are a team called The Champions. Facing them is the evil genius, would-be world conquerer Doctor Impossible. The story is told from both sides. The heroes side is told by Fatale the newest member. Doctor Impossible provides his story and some interesting viewpoints on being an evil mastermind.
  8. Re: Marginally Powered Sit-Com Heroes I believe that the SS guy was Major Wolfgang Hochstetter. You also need to have General Burkhalter as well.

  16. Re: town generator Very Nice Find
  17. Re: Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow Speaking as the holder of a degree in History, it seems that people only agree on the beginning or end when there is a definite event. Even then there are those who want to disagree. BTW, my wife (a school librarian) hates Wikipedia for the amount of inaccurate and plain wrong info that seems to be there.
  18. Re: Capaign Theme: The Chase You can't go wrong with the the book either.
  19. Re: Capaign Theme: The Chase Best thing about this is that it can be used in any genre. Take The Maltese Falcon (Pulp genre) from the point of Kasper Gutman (Sydney Greenstreet). He had been following the Falcon for years around the world, from Paris to Istanbul to San Francisco.
  20. Re: Setting for a "realistic" campaign in space Gravitational effects would depend on the mass of the two stars. If they are of fairly equal mass their individual gravity would likely be balanced at 100 AU. But considering that for a G2 main sequence star the habitable zone is roughly around the 1 AU mark there should I think be little effect by the second star. Gravitational effects would also come into play if the orbit of the second star had an high eccentricity that brought it closer to the primary. But if the average separation is 100 AU that would be a very very long time.

  22. Re: Square Nebula Whether it is just how you look at it or some fancy scientific theory. It really does the diversity that exists across the cosmos.

    Satellite

Re: Satellite Great find. I was chaparoning my wife's fifth grade class to the planetarium today and was fooling with it on one of the classroom computers. Caught a few of the kids attention when one that had gone off the edge for a while came back through and then left again.
