    New Hero Team!

    Western Shores

Yes, I sersiously disliked Forgotten Realms, still do. If I was going to translate a world with all that stuff I'd convert the Known World/Mystara setting, the one they used to test al the ideas they eventually put into Greyhawk, Forgotten Realms, etc.
  3. Joker created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger lets give some credit where it's due, even if DC doesn't or can't.
  4. Just as an aside and to be difficult. Could always buy the brain's physical stats down to 0 and invest the points in a vehicle or follower. Or even repay the points into a robot body/foci.
  5. That comment really wasn't ment to be rude. DOJ/Hero has tried to distance itself from C:NM and the mistakes the previous owners made. I'll dig the files up and put them on the web somewhere, if no-one has any objections to it. Please note that the "Cybergames" redo of CNM has "5th Edition" characters in it, but it's a 5th edition as the previous owners saw it, not what may have been actually published. I comment on this because a: the book is dirt cheap now if you can find it (last I saw one it was $7) and b: it's a place to start if you want to change the characters over to proper FrED
  6. This isn't ment to be a bad or sacastic comment. With the way SteveL views CNM I doubt they'd go for it so I haven't bothered asking.
  7. I posted a complete zip file of all the characters in html format about 3-4 months ago. Not sure if the url is still good or not and know several people downloaded the file

    VIPER Watch

For those intreasted GamersAttic.com has just put Viper up for sale.
  9. I'll be ordering it online. The so called FLGS down here hasn't even gotten Champion's Battleground in. "Do you have xxx and Champion's Battleground in?" Clerk (on phone): "I don't see them on the shelves but we'll be getting them as soon as they come out" "Um...they've been out for around a month now so I guess you won't be getting them in then" Sigh, I'm in hell. No good Hero supplier and after going to DishNetwork no Star Trek either (ahhhhh)
  10. Amazing how the Shining Knight and Pat Dugan (Strpisey) remember being time lost in Stars & S.T.R.I.P.E.S.
  11. Attach picture of the Seven Soldiers of Victory
  12. Not really because him and the other 7 Soldiers became time-lost, being rescused by the combined JlA and JSA, one of the few hold overs of Pre-Crisis storytelling. History of the DC Universe The war was over and with it began the decline of the latest Heroic Age. The Law's Legionnaires (aka 7 Soldiers from the pic) formed before the war, came to an end when one of their teammates, Wing, sacrificed his life to defeat the entity known as the Nebula Man. The other heroes were dispersed throughout time, only to be rescused many years later by the combined forces of the Justice Society of American and one of the later-formed Justice Leagues.
  13. Brought back in Namor (around 16-17) and was a regular in Hero for Hire. And the Changeling subb'd for Prof. X and was killed. They've kinda re-incarnated him as Morph though in Exiles and Age of Apocolypse.
  14. Byrne & Donna Off from the original topic I know. I am Bryne fan, I freely admit it. I don't think he's the best writer or artist around he does have his moments. I think what he was trying to do with Donna, at least near the end was take her back to a point that fans wanted her at. Diana's sister and with her own super-powers again. Before that she had been everything from adopted daughter of Titans to a DarkStar. I can't say I enjoyed everything he did on Wonder Woman. I do see where he tried taking the characters though and give him the credit for at least atempting to do something with them. It's too easy to push a character in the background or kill him/her off just because the writer can't find the character's "voice" as easy as the others.
  15. Graduation Day #3. And the way they end it they could bring her back if they really wanted to. Personally I don't think many writers know what to do with her so they get rid of her out of hand. And yeah I know a lot of people here Byrne bash but all I can say is a: he kept her alive and b: He tried to sort the caracter out. And no, this is not an opening comment for a flame.
  16. Fate: He's Hector Hall, the son of the golden age Hawkman & Hawkwoman. Was also the Silver Scareb during Infinity Inc. The spirits of the previous Fate's are in his amulet. JLA: I belive the name is Wujinda or close to it. They were take off of Marvel's Avengers and he was their "Thor." If what your trying to do is similar as they did in Avengers 11 & 12 (vol3) I'd stick with people who are dead dead. From what I remember of the story the Grim Reaper corrupted their spirits as well as their bodies. If your going for straight Zombies then use whoever you like. The Avengers defeated them by reaching to the spirit deep inside the person, pulling it "out" and getting in touch with it.
  17. AFAIK Toro is dead, then again I'd have to go back and look at Power Pack. Marvel seemed to backpedal a lot when it came to PP and a few other series. The Human Torch came back in Avengers West Coast #50, "lost" his powers in Namor #12 and was a secondary character in the Hero for Hire series (where his powers seemed to fade in and out from 12 on). Also dead are a number of Hellion's from New Mutants/X-Men. Max Mercurary(sp) died in Impulse. I would say Hal Jordan but he's running around as The Spectre. There are also a number of Golden Ager's who are officially dead (Sandman and Mr. Terrific come to mind). As for the current Hourman look in JSA 31+. I know they really start using him in the Stealing Thunder storyline (coming out as a Tpb Weds).
  18. The original Capt. Marvel is still dead, so is Bucky. Karma (X'ain Coy Manh) is still alive, she's currently featured in the current New Mutants issue. Physically Donna Troy is dead, the way they ended it though is she could be brought back if anyone had the guts to write her properly (NOT wanting to start that debate, already dead on Animoations). To my knowlege both Barron Blood's are dead. The original as well as Spitfire's son who became BB in the Union Jack mini-series. Barry Allen (Flash) is still dead as a doornail, so is the Rita Farr of the Doom Patrol. Johnny Quick (Jesse's Quick's (Titans & JSA) father is still dead, or at least joined the speed force. Jason Todd (Robin) is still dead, even though his body is missing from the grave (I'm not going to spoil who was in Batman unless asked). Zatara (Zattana's father) is still in the grave. I also belive Steel (J.H. Irons) also died recently in Superman. OH, and depending on how you do it the original Hourman is also dead as well, though technicaly he's in a "pocket dimension" until his son uses up a certain amount of time.
  19. IMHO the art looks good, the text though seems a lil crammed and busy though.
  20. This is cut/pasted from DC's website. The full article is at http://www.dccomics.com/secret_files/dc_character.html?sc_dc_itemCode=blackadam Note if Black Adam says SHAZAM he turns back into Theo Adam. For years, Teth-Adam acted as a hero throughout Egypt and eventually came into the service of Prince Khufu, whom he would stay with until Khufu's murder. Shortly after the death of Khufu, Teth-Adam lost sight of his purpose and began using his powers for selfish gain. He gained a new name during this period, one that was whispered with fear throughout Egypt: Khem-Adam, translated into English as "Black Adam." Partly blaming himself for Teth-Adam's horrible corruption, Shazam stripped Adam of his powers, placing them within a scarab amulet. The amulet was entombed with Pharoah Rameses II, and remained untouched until the late 20th century, when husband-and-wife archaeologists C.C. and Marilyn Batson uncovered it. The couple were brutally murdered by an associate, Theo Adam, who soon after unlocked the secret of the scarab and tapped into Black Adam's power and memories. The Batsons' son, Billy, was chosen by the wizard Shazam as his new champion, Captain Marvel.
  21. Personally I like Grid, makes the old style TSR maps
  22. um......the rules? Champion's is a Sourcebook describing how to use the rules in a super-hero game. It's written assuming you already know the rules and have Hero 5th.
  23. AEG Cathay for Swashbuckling Adventures has more of a Chinese feel. They tried to take it as far away from Legend of the Five Rings/Rokugan as they could.
  24. If you decide to go with Rokugan get either AEG's Rokugan book or try to find the Legend of the 5 Rings stuff. Same world, different rules. AS for Ninja's and Samurai, yes, they do get their own packages and I belive their listed in Ninja Hero. Magic is based more on communications with elemenent spirits with minor spells on scrolls (basicly ways written down to help communicate and ask for what you want).
  25. Witchfire turning Photon into a frog on one roll. Totally destroyed the GM's plans. D**n us players. *ribbit*
