http://www.gamersattic.com sent a note tonight saying they had just recieved it today. Don't ask me about the cover graphic for it. No idea where it's from, don't care. Hopefully it'll be changed soon. and yes I do get kickbacks from them (jk)
  3. http://home.attbi.com/~drake01/CNM4.zip I'll have the files up for another week. The zip has all the characters from the 3 CNM books
  4. http://www.wuji-web.com/multiverse.html The templates are based off of Batman/Superman: Animated
  5. Most is based on 5, I think STR is 3 or 5 depending on your campaing (super is 3, normal is 5, weirdist thing about the rules). One thing I di dlike about the CNM book is the fact they explained combat in a mini-comic. Kinda makes me wonder what Wildstrike! was supposed to look like
  6. The link below is for a zip file holding the CNM characters written for Hero 4th Edition. Back when the books came out Bruce Harlick posted them to the Hero site. The characters are presented as HTML (he never posted the Creator files) and to my knowlege the numbers are correct. Also IIRC they include all the characters from CNM, Alliances, and Bay City. At least for those who are intreasted in using the NM books it gives you an idea on writing up the characters for 5th Edition. Just a word of caution, the file is around a meg since it also includes the character art used on the pages. For those people who have the slower modems I'm willing to put it up as just an HTML only zip, all that need to be done is ask. CNM 4 Characters And I'm doing this to be nice, so no flames on how the write-ups, cnm, or fuzion sucks. I'm just passing the info along, I didn't write it
  7. Although not an insider I was on the site at that time and kept a small ear to what was going on. From people I talked to (online and real life) that was the big thing about Fuzion. The former owners said "We're coming out with 5th," Fuzion came out with a big "vol 5 #1" on it's cover and people went "This is 5th? It's not what we were promised!" and therefore raised a stink about it. This was at a time that not only was this board around but so were 2-3 Hero/Champion's egroups, an irc channel for Hero, and a good numbered websites. The problem was there wasn't all that many internet uses at the time. Out of 8 gamers only 4 of us had net access. And even then I belive me and one other person checked the site/forums ever few days to see what was going on. I honestly think that's why Fuzion got the bad rap it did. A lot of people looked at it as a replacement for 5th and not on it's own. It's a good lesson in how not to market something. IMHO if it had come out as a core book called HeroLite, then a supplement called Champion's:NM it would've gone over a lot more with people. Also if it had been made plain in the book that it wasn't ment to be Hero 5 it would've gone better. As I've said before. I read the rules, I own the books. To me it's a "what if champion's were written by Image?" but I'm a lil biased at that. If you look back when they were printed Image was still on top and Marvel had signed Liefield and Lee to do Heroes Reborn.
  8. May also want to look at the active points of what the person is doing and adjust it for your game.
  9. Depending on the Author you need Telepathy to use it. The only ones we've really seen using it is Xavier and Jean. Magneto may have once or twice in New Mutants while he lead the school but then again he's supposed to have a very small amout of telepathy. I'd go with the Detect Mutant, based on ECV (Telepathy) with it requiring Telepathy to function properly. Perhaps the SFX is that it boosts the Telepathy level (ie megascale) of the character using it (aid?) oh..and just for kicks...Telepathy...I like that word...Telepathy(see old episode of Facts of Life)
  10. Personally I use Bay City Any City book can be generic enough to use and Fuzion isn't THAT hard to bring over to 5th if you have an idea of the rules. Just because something (or someone) isn't popular doesn't mean it can't be a good source.
  11. Foxbat built it so I wouldn't be suprised if it shot out soap-bubbles on a roll of 11-
  12. a friend and I got together yesterday just to play aroudn with combat, me playing Defender, and later on Witchcraft and Ironclan; him playing the villians (Pulsar, Photon and Foxbat + 2 "viper" agents). Defender vs Pulsar...Defender won but not after being knocked out and having to chase up to Pulsar. OK, I probably played the character a little foolishly, I admit it. I did kick Pulsar's @$$ at the end of it (move by's can be so much fun). But he was just supposed to be the diversion to what was really going on across town w/ Photon and Foxbat...Defender shows up, knocks out the two agents and calls for backup from Witchcraft and Ironclan. They show up a few round into fighting Photon and Foxbot. Now understand..the GM had a nice big plan dealing with them escaping, powering up a "death ray" in the parking lot and watching the heroes squrim as mass destruction rages about them (then again, this is Foxbat's plan so how much destruction can there be?). Welll.... what happens.....while looking over Witchcraft's sheet I notice the "man to frog" spell...and procede to use it on Photon the heavy hit..make the hit, do just a little over double her ego and poof..she's a frog. Pretty much ruining the GM's master plan of mayhem. Now I'm banned from playing Witchcraft (sigh).
  13. Fantasy Hero 4th Ed had conversion notes for D&D 2nd to Hero. I've found they work well for conversions. Also if you look around the web for a website called DungeonHero it would help. The person there converted a TON of D&D stuff to Hero4. Not the same as five I know but it's a good starting point at least
  14. Some of the V&V modules had V&V to Champ's 3rd edition conversion notes. Belive I still have the modules, could dig them out and scan the conversion notes. They always came out pretty light to me though. Average V&V character came out to be around 150-180pts iirc.
  15. Personally in the games I run I keep some of the xp's away from the players to build mystery powers and sometimes disad points to build "unknown problems." a'la Strikeforce. I enjoy it when a player is confused on how his 6d6 EB has suddenly become pentrating or taht teleporter really does streach his "limits" by going that extra game inch
  16. Gurps Version I know a friend was working on a Gurps version. I'll talk to him and see if he has a Hero version as well, that or if I can pass on the gurps notes to you. Think it would be a pretty standard "low" sci-fi game, 75+75 characters at most, at least for the human's starting out.
