  1. Yes. No bookshelves where harmed during the creation of my posts. It is looking a little droopy in the middle though. Probably due to being made of press-board and the high humidity here in Florida. HM
  2. My HERO collection destroyed my bookshelf and killed my dog. not really.... HM
  3. But he is a pretty good driver. He's not a gymnast and doesn't have Acrobatics but he certainly has Breakfall. Plus, making his DEX lower would only save a few points at the expense of buying Skill Levels with Driving and Breakfall. Going down that road seems very GURPy to me. I tried to balance the 'accuracy' of the build with the idea that his abilities have been upgraded and simplified over time. I purposely did not give him more than 2 Skill levels* of any one type with that in mind (he is best with a pistol). Especially the Overall ones since I consider having 3 of those in the realm of a minor super ability since that is the break point for doing tasks 1 step down the time chart. * I made an exception with PSL's due their unique nature. Also, I can see pure martial artists with a higher DEX and even Lightning Reflex bonus than John has but not with the gun skills as well. HM
  4. This is all the result of elevating "the bottom line" (online sales) to such importance that no thought is given to the loss of indirect marketing provided by brick and mortar FLGS. Not likely to change without new investment though. If I ever win the lottery though... HM
  5. It's an optional rule already in GM Permission territory so no big deal if a GM wants to modify it for their game. I am just pointing out the details of what the RAW say since that was the question. HM
  6. Yes if you mean an HTH attack with the AOE Advantage. Roll With A Punch can only be used against an HTH attack. Example: an attack that happens to be a giant fist from a character with enough Growth to make their fists AOE. But it would not work against other types of attacks that just happen to have the AOE Advantage. HM
  7. It's an often overlooked maneuver. To avoid that I included it in the write up for my rookie version of Spider-Man. HM
  8. That's true for 5e since it was in the Champions genre book. However, for 6e it is part of the core rules so I think Steve intended it to be a hard limit for 'human' in any genre. I'm guessing that Nijna-Bear's question was due to my giving John an otherwise pedestrian 18 DEX with only +3 Lightning Reflexes. If that is the case I could imagine the points previously spent on Marcus as a Contact being put towards more DEX and/or Lightning Reflexes for the Chapter 2 version. That would reflect him no longer being 'rusty' and would fit with the step up in the quality of opponents he faces in the sequel. HM
  9. I believe that the maneuver offers a 'middle-ground' for players that want to take the chance that their PC has a good enough DCV to avoid getting hit and thus saving their action. RWP is the only maneuver that can be aborted to after the dice have been rolled. Any other abort action like Block, Dodge and DFC all have to be declared before the dice are rolled. HM
  10. I don't understand the reason for the question. Did I mention 4e rules somewhere in this thread? As far as I know, the 30 limit was introduced in the 5e Champions book: This was then formally added to the core rules in 6e: HM
  11. Warning - contains some spoilers for Chapter 2. And here is the Honest Trailer: HM
  12. Not exactly on topic but something everyone here might find useful... From a recent rpgnet thread: Best RPG Accessories that you know about Either one of these could be used in a combat with high knockback by moving the center of action off of the 'original' map location. http://role4initiative.com/search.php?pi=100&oos=oos&q=45004 http://www.gamenightlife.com/product-p/hh1.htm The second magnetic version looks really cool but is not available yet. HM
  13. What is really interesting to me is the dichotomy of currency. You have the coins used for nearly everything except contracts to kill. I wonder what the exchange rate is for coins (if there is one)? HM
  14. This is a great question. It's one of the reasons I have yet to tackle creating rookie version of Johnny Storm (The Human Torch). His is not just visible but also dangerous to the nearby environment. HM
  15. Whackum the fighter? Wacko the mage! I'm dying to know the name of the cleric and rogue in this group. HM
  16. re: EC and melee characters. 5e EC only allowed powers that cost END by default. Reduced END could be applied but powers that did not cost END to begin with could not be included without taking some form of the Costs END Limitation. HM
  17. If it's really just slowing time then you could start from EDM and re-engineer from there. That's essentially how Enter the Speedforcezone was done in Ultimate Speedster and later reprinted in the APG. EDM is also used for Enter the Microverse. The key thing about using EDM is that like Desol, the character will need to put an Advantage on whatever abilities they want to use to affect characters in the 'regular' world while they are in the EDM one. Otherwise it's just a really expensive Dive For Cover on steroids. HM
  18. I believe this is covered in 5e within the USPD or Ultimate Speedster. I know it's in the 6e APG2 book. It's a very powerful and very expensive ability. HM
  19. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Star Wars yet. It's basically a fantasy setting with a science fiction 'skin'. HM
  20. What's murky about it? Only the base form can use the Duplication Power. If you need further proof then here's an excerpt from the 5er version. From 5er Page 152: HM
  21. See the 3rd paragraph from the Power description. From HERO System 4e page 64: HM
  22. Warning - Spoilers Ahead https://www.visu.info/john-wick-2-kill-count/ HM
  23. I just saw Chapter 2 earlier this evening and all I can say is... HM
  24. If the APG books can be considered valuable but 'extra' stuff for 6e1 and 6e2 I would say that having a PDF copy of 6e1 and 6e2 should also be considered a valuable 'extra' for Champions Complete (and Fantasy Hero Complete) to help deal with challenges like this one. HM
