  1. Re: Powerset suggestsion - TV star Depends on if you want her education and social development are fairly healthy--since she's a heroine, I'll assume yes. First thing that comes to mind is at least 1 pt. of Life Support: Reduced Sleep. Without that, even with on-site tutors, she'd have a somewhat limited education due to simple time demands. If "stunt cast" refers to doing stunts, at least a modicum of Damage Resistance and/or Armor seems appropriate. If they cast her in particular as opposed to other rising starlets, I can see some kind of passive high Presence and/or Mind Control ("you think I have talent" or "you like me!" being the message) would be appropriate. From a more practical perspective, a heroine with the ability to make realistic sounding and looking illusions (Images, Sight and Hearing) would make an excellent member of a cast, since that powerset would lend itself to simulating a wide variety of other powers.
  2. Re: [ultimate Marvel] Ultimizing Thor Villains If you want an Ultimate Executioner, I'd make his Martial Arts style a cinematic mock-up of Vale Tudo--the "Ultimate Fighting" groundfighting/"shootfighting" style.
  3. Re: Supervillian Group Name Make'em a bunch of gamers and call the group "Your GP or your HP"
  4. Re: Attracting villians Actually, that can work: "Yes, we made more per heist in Gotham, but little Timmy starts school in the fall, and the violent crime rate is just so high there... and the drug problems! As a lifestyle choice, my hubby and I just had to pick Campaign Town as our base of operations..." --Thunder, supervillain and mother, testimonial
  5. Re: Input on a bunch of bad guys? As a cautionary note: If you have any anime fans in your playgroup, having someone named "Overfiend" accompanied by a bunch of females will lead to at least one or two disruptive chuckles...
  6. Re: WWYCD: Bodyparts Away! Several of my characters would pause for a disparaging "Army of Darkness" reference before getting down to business.
  7. Re: WWYCD: The Famous Guy Hypotheticals Blackberry would apologize for violating Dark Avenger's turf, and ask permission to tag along and assist in Dark Avenger's investigations. It's pretty hard to seriously offend Blackberry; it's not so much that she has thick skin but that she genuinely likes people. Since I don't see anything in the original post indicating that the doohickey was Blackberry's, she wouldn't have a personal stake in how it was returned.
  8. Re: Who Would Your Character Be? Your C becomes an autobot? Blackberry doesn't convert readily to any existing autobot... the closest equivalent would be Arcee.
  9. Re: WWYCD: You C becomes a Toon? ...ever watch Dangermouse?
  10. Re: WWYCD: You C becomes a Toon? Blackberry would find it amusing. Mind you, she'd be anime-ified, so it wouldn't be as necessarily as bad as being say "Liefeldinated"...
  11. Re: WWYCD:Little Girl Lost ...nicely executed threadcromancy there, Nexus--particularly responding twice to your own WWYCD. Is the "Eve" from this post the same as the "Eve" from the earlier post?
  12. Re: WWYCD: Fundamentalist against non-tech supers. Blackberry would be terribly afraid for the various charitable organizations she works with and volunteers for. She isn't very sneaky nor underhanded, but she is very sharp, so she'd do everything she could to make sure the holes in the logic of this nasty person were carefully scrutinized by the public. Blackberry would be defensive; she's comfortable with who she is, but many of her relatives would also be characterized by the man as soulless, and she just gets so steamed when her friends and relatives are insulted or threatened.
  13. Re: WWYCD: Fundamentalist against non-tech supers. Given the way the Presence Attack was described, "Naked Advantage" indeed....
  14. Re: Single Green Superhero seeks.... (personels for your characters) Blackberry Single female seeks friends. Huggability, nice smile preferred. (Blackberry has so many friends as it is, it would never occur to her to write something like this.)
  15. Re: The Things I Learned Playing A Villain... When the villain(ness)-with-a-heart-of-gold starts having a romance with the hero(ine) drawn to the wrong person, there is a 50/50 chance for either to switch sides. Unless the PCs are heroes, in which case your chance of converting is probably closer to 90%.
  16. Re: The things I've learned playing a Martial Artist As a Martial Artist, you command the subtle powers of chi manipulation, and possess the delicate grace of a dancer. In nine cases out of ten, this means that bricks with Area of Effect scenery are not your best opponents.
  17. Re: The thing's I've learned playing a Brick... Wet blanket time, and I'm sorry about it, because I like the idea too: I believe this construct is illegal for two reasons: 1) It duplicates the effect of an existing power (Telekinesis), which by the book is illegal. 2) Most GMs could/should/would bar this, because it begs to be abused: Megascale Superleap, usable as an attack? Footnote: I have considered Megascaled Superleap, usable as an attack, with a whole slew of Limitations on it, to represent "throwing stuff into the sun" and other feats of Mega-Strength. In cases like that, I can just vaguely see an argument for allowing it; but on the whole, it still seems WAY too cheap for what you get. Megascale on Strength though, that seems pretty reasonable (if you add certain Limitations) to represent people who can throw things superfar...
  18. Re: The Things I've Learned Playing A Mentalist Mind Control and Telepathy work much better between battles (say, to find out where you next need to be) than they do at winning battles.
  19. Re: The thing's I've learned playing a Brick... Doctor Octopus isn't strong enough to be a true brick, but having a tentacle of his come down from above and slam spidey into the ground would be the image I'm getting. In any case, I thought Stretching was Indirect by default.
  20. Re: What Would Your Character See? Blackberry would find herself in a world of selfish, petty, nasty people, where all of her hopes have been dashed and her dreams availed to naught. In her nightmare world, hope is a provable lie, and joy is fiction.
  21. Re: WWYCD: If there was a unified WWYCD thread? Blackberry doesn't play MMORPGs. She plays Champions.
  22. Re: Need help with a Villainous Summoner I'd consider having your summoner forcibly bind "good" creatures, enslaving them to follow his bidding. To make him even more heinous, have him warp good creatures into evil ones, or have him forcibly suppress their will in some fashion. As for name? How does something simple, like "Overlord", sound?
  23. Re: WWYCD: Unholy Matrimony... Blackberry would hit the panicbutton, call up all the favors she's owed, then have some of her higher-powered friends lead a true knock-down drag-out assault to try to stop this Vile Scheme . In the meantime, she'd try to sneak in a side or back way, and mess up the ritual, for which she'd have several plans: 1) A brave snatch-and-run where Blackberry tried to get Amanda away. 2) Various distracting spells, to disrupt the ceremony--Blackberry is short on brute force, but good at creativity, and a smoke bomb is a real downer at a wedding. 3) Desperate measures--if this happens to need to be done precisely at midnight, a pie-to-the-face at the right time should be sufficient to prevent the kiss from being timed properly...
  24. Re: WWYCD: A spooky ghost
  25. Re: WWYCD if their reflection suddenly winked at them? Blackberry: Stuff like that happens frequently enough to herself and her associates, but still, it's rude to essentially tell someone "something interesting is going to happen soon" but not follow-up with any details. She'd tap her foot for a moment, waiting expectantly for details, then if none was forthcoming, go off, mildly irked.
